You never know Lonely - it sounds like you have a good plan worked out.

DH home from work early. Hooray! I've left him giving the kids their tea and escaped upstairs for 10 mins with a brew.

Unescorted · 10/08/2018 17:21

Thanks all...yes very relieved. 😁

Quiet I use Roberts & Co. for coffee. It is £14 per kg. It is properly lovely. Made more lovely because my dad tags my order on to his and won't take payment.

JAM it is the height of Belgian luxury. There is brewery next door and we are sharing the field with a group of mates. I am not expecting to remember much of the detail. Chocolate is being shipped in and cakes being made by the father of one of the attendees....he is a retired patisserier. I think I am showing him how to make Yorkshire puddings and Bakewell tart. It is going to be a giggle if nothing else.

Snuggly days like that are hard. I don't miss them.

BreatheSlower · 10/08/2018 17:25

I used to have one Costa triple chocolate muffin per day Snuggly when I was in that phase, and still lose weight. It was one of the odd perks of working 28 hours a day. Take care there.

BreatheSlower · 10/08/2018 17:31

The rain is fairly tipping down here. It's lovely. I don't think it's probably the done thing to go out and get soaked in it, but it seems an attractive option just now.

Unescorted · 10/08/2018 17:45

Is it still warm where you are then? It would be too chilly to do a rain splash here..... although I do love them.

Wolfcub · 10/08/2018 17:55

Unexpectedly very spendy day. £28 nails. £15 treat lunch for ds before he went on the camp he wasn’t keep on going on and after he’d sat for 1.5 hours in the salon! Sainsbury’s to buy wine and a few nice bits for my tea, also ended up with two massive photo frames and two naiice cushions for the living room and a new hairdryer as mine was broken £93 but used £10 on nectar points. This was not planned spending, BadWolf.

Unescorted your holiday sounds idyllic

mammynowanauntyIRL · 10/08/2018 17:58

Well done curls that's fantastic
Lonely just remember tomo it's your figures under the magnifying glass not you and you've done so well thus far & not run away from your debt but are facing it head on

Unescorted camping trip sounds fabulous

Wrongwayup · 10/08/2018 18:07

Good luck lonely

BreatheSlower · 10/08/2018 18:09

Unescorted we're at about 23 here now. It's so great not to be boiling away at 32 any more. I had definitely had enough of that.

Somebody just told me that I used the wrong glue on my instrument. Picky picky....

mammynowanauntyIRL · 10/08/2018 18:39

@cremeeggthief where are you? Our long lost running frugaleer is back Grin

QuiteCleanBanditlovesdresses · 10/08/2018 19:02

Ikea was actually empty and therefore fun.
But cold ❄❄❄
DH wore a tshirt and moaned all the way round .
I was the woman wrapped in a big blanketty thing ,drinking tea. Ha ha !
Meatballs,mash ,gravy and peas mmm.
Got our grey sideboard and meatball deals for the freezer.
Plus the usual napkins, candles, plastic bags etc
Curls thats fantastic ,DH had similar problems and has changed his diet.
Hes not so tired either .
Lonely
Wouldnt a dmp be better than a consolidation loan?
In that it will go quicker, plus you wouldnt pay interest plus there is no temptation to use the cards ?
Flowers for you,you have been very brave facing this and it WILL go.

I love putting away shopping Blush
I always clean the fridge before I go .There is nothing like everything all restocked and all nicely put away.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 10/08/2018 19:13

Putting away groceries is much easier when fridge is clean for sure.
I also dislike the time taken to do this chore but love the feeling of being fully stocked up again for week ahead

BreatheSlower · 10/08/2018 19:20

That is a thing that I really got a lot better at once I joined the frugaleers. I used to have trouble with the fridge being far too full and I could never find anything.

Once I joined this group, I started buying fruit in ones or two rather than a bag of each thing. So one apple, and one carrot and one pepper, instead of a bag of apples, and bag of carrots and a bag of peppers.

I now have far more space in the fridge and much less waste, which is great. I always clean everything out that is part its best before i put new stuff in, which helps too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/08/2018 19:35

Urg I hate travelling, feel all sweaty. Meet you by the fountain wolf?

Sounds like the packing is coming along nicely em.

Pleased the business is ok jam. Losing a pet does make such a big gap in life. Pleased dd enjoyed summer school. She should totally apply, not frugal though.

Great news on the health thing North and curls.

Snuggly, it will soon be bed time and tomorrow's a new day. It's tough at times though.

Hi everyone else, sorry if I've missed anything.

£3 m&s on Percy pigs.

ememem84 · 10/08/2018 19:43

Washed the bedding from the Now broken down bed. And will pack this away with its duvet and pillows all in one bag.

Dh hasn’t taken down all our pictures. And has wrapped them in bubble wrap. Which is great but the flat doesn’t feel like home now. Waaaaaa

But. Almost there.

I’m taking a half day on Wednesday I think just to get catface settled at dparents and move ds’ cot Up there. He’ll be at nursery so will be easier for me to do this.

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/08/2018 19:52

Good luck tomorrow lonely. How much have you managed to reduce your total debt in the last few months with all your over payments? You don't have to say if you don't want to!

£63 Tesco
Getting a replacement shampoo as it leaked from amazon, and they don't want the leaky one back Smile

Thanks snuggly your little ones are still at such a demanding age.

After three weeks off with the DC, I'm quite beginning to look forward to starting my new job at the end of the month Blush

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/08/2018 19:53

Glad to hear you are getting up and about again breathe

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/08/2018 19:53

Well done curls Star

Thatsnotmybookworm · 10/08/2018 19:57

Updated spends from today :
£69 supermarket

Wolfcub · 10/08/2018 19:58

Life yes that sort of plan. We’d need a secret signal to go with our MN code names

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/08/2018 19:59

Good luck tomorrow lonely. If it's a no it's not personal to you, it will be a business decision.
I hope that helps as it sounds like it might not, sorry

Flappyjack · 10/08/2018 20:10

NSD - hurrah!

snuggly those cookies were worth a million if they made a shitty day a bit easier.

jam hello.

Made banana bread, been to the park and had a lazy day here.

DH is going to pull the washing machine apart tomorrow. He isn't convinced the bearings are causing the noise. I'd be bloody delighted if he is right because my credit card is almost paid off. I've managed to fix the tumble dryer beeping I think, but time will tell.

I still have DS2 uniform to buy and a new bed in the next few months (nobody mention the shed.)

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/08/2018 20:17

Sainsbury's 25% off is on next week flappy. It includes school uniform

Flappyjack · 10/08/2018 20:39

Wowser life - thanks, I will defo buy it there.

Just opened a bottle of wine. DM gave it to me. It was a retirement present but sauv is not her cup of tea. Frugal win.

Happy weekend everyone.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/08/2018 21:06

Theres an offer on the nectar app, 5 x nectar points on uniform,. If you scan one item first and pay for that you might get a till spit voucher for triple base points. Worth a try.
