Day two done. Leopard print skirt, tights, black flats and a black shirt sleeves rolled for anyone who’s interested.

Spends

£3.45 lunch
£7.99 grey dye for towels
£42 on socks from the surf shop. Best socks I’ve found for staying up inside my riding boots and also they were “free” as were bought with a gift voucher exbil had for his birthday dsis didn’t want it so gave it to me. 5 pairs of socks....

Unescorted · 02/05/2018 20:15

I come out in hives when I see people with ready meals for more than one night. We have a couple of people at work who get those boxes of ingredients..... I may have shown them how meal plan and frog marched them to the market to show them they can buy a single chop, a bit of a fish and 12 green beans if that is all they need. I missed a trick I could have made boxes for them. They are a good source of plastic takeaway boxes.

Wolfcub · 02/05/2018 20:16

Sounds great Em I like your fashion updates

Sprouted potatoes and raw ones are definitely not on my list of things to eat. Small eyes that can be removed fine, full on tentacles no way

WreckTangled · 02/05/2018 20:33

Unescorted Grin I agree with you re the box meals.

Creme it's a good job that leak got picked up!

Em love that you got exbil's voucher Grin

Our sitting room is now a lovely colour of....undercoat. And everything is under about five inches of dust since dh has sanded every single imperfection out of the walls and removed half the original paint. His boss said we can get the paint on his brewers account which means we won't have to pay for it, haven't paid for anything yet as dh has got it all from work. Win!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 02/05/2018 20:34

Quite unfortunately shouting doesn't count for anything here Angry court told me I'd have to have proof of him being physically violent in last three months and he isn't been.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/05/2018 20:44

Crème phew about the leak being caught.
I like your outfit update em. It inspires me.
Sorry dh is back round to showing his true colours again mammy. 12k steps, cals to spare today.

It might fall through but I doubt it knowing who had got it. Will just save for a bit longer.

Unescorted · 02/05/2018 20:48

Mammy that must be so frustrating.

Em I have several grey jersey dresses and silk scarf collection... I just swap them about. I am in awe of anyone who has a style.

I am shattered tonight... I had a weird interpret sleep last night. No reason just did. Hopefully no repeat tonight.

ememem84 · 02/05/2018 20:49

I keep the odd ready meal in the freezer at work just to have in case I’m late or know I’m going out out after work and I’ll have it for lunch. It’s not great but better than a takeaway.

I’m exhausted.

I remember a while ago watching Nadia off of bake offs cooking show and laughing at her “im a busy mum....” bit. Now I get it. I need to be more organised though.

Unescorted · 02/05/2018 20:53

Dear god my typing g is terrible tonight. Sorry. I am not even under the influence... DH has finally realised drinking does not agree with him. He has no off button once he has one. I like a partner in drinking crime so I haven't had more than 3 glasses of wine in 2 weeks. Actually that could be while I had broken sleep.....h mm

ememem84 · 02/05/2018 20:53

Hit post too soon.

Dh has done a food shop and I did an online boots order. £43 food and £55 boots.

Once we get into the swing of things we’ll be better at organisation. At present we’re all over the place. But it is only day 2!

Good things about being back at work:

  • eating less - less snacking
  • a dedicated hour just for me!
  • grown up contact!
  • money!
  • drinking more water

I have 7 months now to do 35 cpd hours, so must try and attend as many training things as I can. On one tomorrow morning from 815 Shock but free breakfast....

Unescorted · 02/05/2018 21:01

em it comes to us all. The stages of motherhood are well trodden....after the more must be more organised stage comes acceptance where you find yourself buying grey jersey dresses and silk scarves so it looks as if you haven't given up entirely.

WreckTangled · 02/05/2018 21:04

😂😂😂😂

ememem84 · 02/05/2018 21:09

Oh jersey dresses sound so comfy.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/05/2018 21:12

I was thinking the same em... Where do you get your Jersey dresses from?

Wolfcub · 02/05/2018 21:12

Are the dresses fully lined Unescorted? I need lined dresses to hide my lumpy wobbly mum bits

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/05/2018 21:13

And comfy shoes.... That I can actually walk in

Unescorted · 02/05/2018 21:13

More importantly they don't need ironing or a gym toned body.

ememem84 · 02/05/2018 21:13

I am currently sporting rather gorgeous jack wills joggers in a grey jersey material. So. Much. Comfortable. And one of dh’s hoodies. And I’m in bed. I may not change into my jammies.

Unescorted · 02/05/2018 21:17

H&M, TK Max, Jeagar.... I have an extensive collection. I buy them several sizes too big or a 60s tunic shape so they don't cling. Other tip get thick fabric... They hold their shape better.

Flats all the way 😀

ChristmasSeacow · 02/05/2018 21:52

Sounds a bit uncomfortable with DH Mammy but I guess that’s to be expected. Have you spoken to the dc about separation?

I am a big fan of jersey dresses and have a huge collection. Mostly bright colours though. So easy to wear and no ironing!

DS is going on his first school trip tomorrow. It’s only a day trip so I won’t miss him but I am a little apprehensive... mostly about the potential for him to refuse to get on the coach in the first place! He will be rather confused... but I think he’ll like the trip if once he gets there. I made apple, blackberry and oatmeal muffins today so I can put one in his packed lunch. Rebel, I am Wink

Was a bit spendy today because I panicked. I had a friend coming for lunch and driving a long way too so I wanted to get some decent food. So I bought a chicken to roast (lots left for other lunches though), salad, crusty bread, tomatoes for Greek salad (already had the other bits), olives, sun-dried tomatoes, crisps, strawberries... came to about £20. Had such a good day catching up with my lovely friend though. Not seen her properly for about 4 years.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/05/2018 22:32

Bought some tickets for a local show for dd and I, £20.

Need to check my budget sheet....

Another day off tomos as am working all of the BH wend 😭

mammynowanauntyIRL · 03/05/2018 02:03

Aargh I'm so annoyed at H, ds is now nappy free at night but not dry himself at all so we've been taking up at night to toilet, I set an alarm to do this. Last night one of the times I took him out he has barely a dribble thought he might be getting it but no it turns out h was lifting him too so I asked which times he'd take him out tonight, he says before midnight & again at four. I just took him out now and he was drowned wet, I'd to change him and his bedclothes Angry obviously h didn't bother getting up earlier Angry back to doing it myself tomorrow night I guess.
I know it's not going to teach ds because the hormone has to develop itself but it's done wonders for his confidence Grin

Wolf Angry at your milk delivery people
Creme glad Leak was found without making you sick

We had a gorgeous slow cooked chicken for dinner Grin

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/05/2018 09:29

Ds went into school terribly sad looking today. He's been having anxiety nightmares while he's awake and is not enjoying it at all. Looked so small and despondent. How hard does a person have to hug a child to hug something like that away? Sad

mammynowanauntyIRL · 03/05/2018 11:08

sunny does your ds pick up on your anxiety? I notice that you are very open with him about a lot of things and that he reads a lot of mumsnet stuff with you.

My 8 year old dd suffers from anxiety too, worries about stuff that children shouldn't be concerned about at all and what I've found has helped her tremendously is Relax Kid classes, it's a UK franchise so you may be able to find a class close to you.

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/05/2018 11:17

Mammy thanks I'll look into that. I think he does yes. We're kind of constitutionally joined at the hip, and we were never going to be any other way.
