Semi-cluttered. On a good day, the surfaces and places you can see are reasonable and I can do a good “visitors are coming” tidy too . But each bedroom has two wardrobes and you don’t want to open them! Yes, also don’t mention the loft although the main problem there is we have not got rid of much baby stuff incase we need it again

ann i try to limit the tumble dryer too. Sometimes I rack dry and then do a quick 15 mins to make it completely dry. Being organised with the washing and doing it through out the week is key too as if you do three loads on one day in winter, you will have to use the dryer

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/01/2018 21:44

Un-cluttered. But no kids.

I did tell Dh that if I found anymore shit lying around I was burning it in the BBQ chimney fire starter.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/01/2018 21:46

Spin dryers are what you need for pre-tumbling. You can get them off eBay second hand.

There's YouTube videos showing them in action.

ememem84 · 12/01/2018 21:52

Semi cluttered. On the surface no clutter. But open a cupboard or drawer.....

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/01/2018 22:00

I don't think I am too bad for clutter, too much stuff annoys me Grin Dd in the other hand is a collector Hmm

MissingMo · 12/01/2018 22:15

We have lots of cube type storage which are always full of things but otherwise pretty uncluttered.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 12/01/2018 22:16

I hate clutter but DH is a hoarder Hmm basically I have worked out now 9 years in that his eco streak means he can be persuaded not to buy stuff but once it’s in the house he will fight to his dying breath to keep it ...
Personally I am basically heartless and will throw anything away if it annoys me Grin
When we moved house 6 years ago I gave away a shameful amount and it’s always stayed with me

Cagliostro · 12/01/2018 22:21

Cluttered here. As in, would be mortified if unannounced visitors asked to come in etc. Not nearly as bad as it was TBF, attic is empty other than old mattress. It's mainly our room that's awful.

The cluttered thing depends on perspective though doesn't it? I grew up in quite a tidy, uncluttered house so I would say ours is semi-cluttered sometimes although tbh I tend to keep on top of it so it's not cluttered - it's not as good now cos DH grew up with a hoarder (I mean that in a genuine, Hoarding Disorder way, like on the TV shows), so he has some tendencies there himself and his tolerance and notice of clutter is much different to mine, and as I've been ill it's him who has been left to keep on top of it. What I would say is semi-cluttered though DH would still say is uncluttered as his threshold is much higher than mine!

ChristmasSeacow · 12/01/2018 23:22

Semi cluttered here. It mostly looks tidy but the spare room is full of crap in transition - mostly baby and DS’s clothes on their way in /out. I have quite a bit of yarn but it is in storage boxes under the spare bed. Study isn’t great either as it’s teeny and I now share with DH (before dd we had a study each. We’ve combined our stuff without pruning it enough).

My DH is like Meadow’s - he’s not much of a shopper but nothing ever leaves. When I moved into his flat shortly into our relationship I forced the disposal of 2x4-ft towers of old newspaper supplements that he was keeping to read ‘one day’.

notmrscookie · 13/01/2018 06:59

Expensive but productive day ..£45 new tyre ..£45 gutter clean and mini repair .£30 repair to dish washer .£20 18th birthday present and £25 mini shop but £1.50 ice cream at cinema dropped bag off at charity shop , dump trip too and listed a few bits on Facebook selling site . so house is slowly becoming less cluttered. Ready for project sell or not .

mammymammyIRL · 13/01/2018 07:23

I sometimes think I sleep better when my bedroom is tidy, it's not currently. Our house is a reasonable size but I work long hours and want to spend my remaining time with dc, running and sleeping so I never get on top of things.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/01/2018 07:25

Have decided not to have my roots done which saves £35 - it’s not just the money but the two hours in the salon every 4 weeks, I completely can’t cba anymore. My hair is naturally very dark brown almost black though so the greys are hugely visible and as I have dyed them it will be like a big stripe ... was wondering about leaving it for as long as I can bear then getting grey/silver/blonde highlights to soften the badger look??
Have work this morning then afternoon with DH including a yoga class at 5pm. Consoling myself for lack of BFP with spending time chilling together as I know that will not be as easy when/if baby happens.
Need to do a new meal plan and shop, but freezer is groaning so hoping to use up a lot of that even if it is repetitive.
TMI alert I’m having the worst period ever, I almost had a crisis on my training day and had to borrow a tampon to use as well as a pad, so stressful

mammymammyIRL · 13/01/2018 07:28

Peonies sorry to hear that about your period hopefully it'll be short. Definitely enjoy your time together too Thanks

mammymammyIRL · 13/01/2018 07:30

I should have gone to hairdressers a week ago, short pixie style & got multi coloured highlights before Christmas but it's too short & I've no event until 9 feb so going to wait until then making it 8 weeks rather than usual 3/4 Smile

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/01/2018 07:33

Just wondering what would happen if men had to go to work worrying secretly that they would bleed through their trousersHmm

mammymammyIRL · 13/01/2018 07:53

GrinGrinGrin that has just given me such a laugh peonies
I'm currently waiting for a gynaecologist appt for 13 months now because my periods don't exist following a d&c for post parting haemhorrage so haven't got this problem Smile

needastrongone · 13/01/2018 08:05

Oh peonies, I remember that too, it's so uncomfortable and stressful isn't it? DD is struggling too. I use the Mirena and have had about 3 periods in 16 years, but my family is complete obviously.

I'm sorry folk had bad days yesterday, I hope the weekend brings better fortune.

Doing really well for money so far this month.

Here's a picture of part of my kitchen, I'm very much like fluffy and you too peonies, can't abide clutter and ruthless with chucking stuff out. DH is really terribly untidy and it's the thing which makes me want to stab him the most. The guys are work say the same, it's not just me ha!

Spends yesterday
£25 M&S, loads of reduced veggie stuff, useful for sandwich fillings.
£60 Sainsbury's but that included a Sear and Stew slow cooker, best price I've ever found for one at £20. Bargain there frugal folk if you need one. The non stick had come off my last one. I'd tried ordering in online a few weeks ago but it was my missing item on my shop.
£20 sports massage.
£40 cleaners.

Today's spends will be
£3 car wash
£25 fruit, veg and salad delivery from the market, we've got through a whole box in a week.

We are not going out much at present so savings there. I think I've reviewed every spend I can now too. Best 'bargain' was the mortgage reducing by so much, I had no idea - bad planning but nice surprise.

Keeping our Fru Year Resolutions! Frugal January thread two (already) - all welcome!
needastrongone · 13/01/2018 08:06

Oh and chicken feed at £6

mammymammyIRL · 13/01/2018 08:10

Good & bad financial news - a refund from 18/12 hasn't been applied to cc1 when when it is I'll be in credit and can close the card, got set up on internet banking with it yesterday. Need to do this for cc3 also. It's not possible for cc2. I'll close cc1 & cc2 when they're repaid.

needastrongone · 13/01/2018 08:12

Oh and we are going to stay here a few more years and do a bit extra to the house. Got both DC to help put through uni in the next 2 years, DS's course is 4 years, not sure what DD's will be. It's going t o be costly as they will both get minimal payments. Might as well stay here until we've got them through.

Well done on the c'card mammySmile

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/01/2018 08:15

The world would grind to a halt miss a.

Think I'm getting fru flu. Itchy throat kept waking me up and I feel snotty today.
DC swimming and a party £10 for card. No food shop today as DC here and I'm not taking them.

Semi cluttered here. Need to sort toys that are not played with/ outgrown. Piles of paper as I keep for too long. Attic not too bad but full of old sentiment stuff and DC school work? Wtf do I do with that.
Garage attic a nightmare, some clutter that needs selling or charity but mostly camping and stuff that will get used. Like many I'm time poor and probably need a month off to sort it.
It annoys the crap out of dh who Chuck's stuff he shouldn't sometimes.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/01/2018 08:17

need I know someone with a kitchen like that. She won't let us see her utility or open cupboards though.

WreckTangled · 13/01/2018 08:19

My kitchen isn't as clear as yours needGrin** it's smaller though...

Need to do the small food shop today and I think I'll spend my John Lewis voucher on some new glasses as our dishwasher has broken another one of ours Angry

Might call ooh dentist for advice too

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/01/2018 08:23

Peonies You can buy shampoos etc for grey hair. Schwartzkopf do one called bonacure for aged and fragile hair. My hairs so much better now I use this. No fluffy whispy bits. You can buy it on amazon too.

www.superdrug.com/Superdrug/Superdrug-Roots-Concealer-Spray-Dark-Brown-75ml/p/504015 This should keep you going, it gets excellent reviews & is cruelty free, buav approved.

Need I meant to congratulate you on the mortgage. How many years does the overpayment knock off?.

M&S are down to their final prices ie prices now end in 99p. There's some really cheap cot sheets. Bit girlie but I don't suppose it matters at 3am when your cleaning up a poonami.
