NSD. Fortunate that I work long hours and don't really go near shops so not much chance of actually spending money during the week. Delighted to be influencing DH's spending too though. He proudly told me that he'd walked to the supermarket with a colleague in his lunch break but didn't buy anything. He is the one in the week who wastes money on buying unnecessary food and drink so am pretty pleased that he is getting into the spirit of this too.

FaithEverPresent · 09/01/2018 21:32

NSD for me! I also made a lovely lasagne from the ingredients I had at home. It was delicious Smile

AdoraBell · 09/01/2018 22:41

NSD, just grocery delivery.

Tomorrow I need to pick up a few bits I forgot, but there will be no non essential spending.

champagneplanet · 09/01/2018 22:52

NSD today. Went to work for a meeting, boss bought lunch and DH dropped me off so no car park to pay.

Took DD1 to her activity this evening and friend bought the coffees as we take it in turns to grab a table/watch the small DCs while the other orders (my turn to buy next week).

Glad I joined in with this i'm really thinking about what i'm spending.

grannycake · 10/01/2018 05:19

Spent a £1 on a coffee for a visitor to my workplace but otherwise a NSD yesterday

Gah81 · 10/01/2018 06:15

NSD for me yesterday. Nearly grabbed a McDonald's on the way home from work but then reminded myself of the existence of this thread 😊

Today we have theatre tickets but it's DP's turn to pay for dinner beforehand so should be another NSD.

ivykaty44 · 10/01/2018 08:26

So rolling into day 10 and I’ve manage to only spend on essential food and fuel

I’m not intending on spending today 😂🙃

NSD - i love work it makes it so much easier, I'm tired after and can't be bothered to go to shop😀

FaithEverPresent · 10/01/2018 16:51

Ha ha Polly I’ve been off sick long term, I’m about to go back and DH is delighted that I won’t be out at the shops so often!

I spent 56p today on some swabs to clean my daith piercing - I used the last of my co-op points and was that much short!

newsparklythings · 10/01/2018 16:56

Was a NSD day until I decided to go for a brisk walk.. got a certain distance from home and my boots were rubbing, thought I would keep going but this developed into nasty blisters underneath my feet Sad. So spending:

£2 for bus home Blush
£3 pack of plasters so I could walk the final distance from the bus stop by shops to my house

And supposed to pay for DD's extra curricular club tonight so that's another £25 due come to think of it

HOWEVER am due £500 compensation from an insurance company's mess-up, which should more than tide us over to the month end Smile

BrownLiverSpot · 10/01/2018 17:13

Another NSD today. Yay!!!

grannycake · 10/01/2018 17:52

Another NSD for me as well

ivykaty44 · 10/01/2018 18:35

Supermarket shop tonight - spent just £22 but that will see us through till next Thursday as I have more than 6 meals in either store cupboard or freezer now. So just essential spend today

So NSD for me

Yesterday spent on meal out it was an unavoidable event as a work colleague was going off on long term sick leave but spent £10 so not too bad. About £10 spent on food and £25 on petrol. Planning for NSD tomorrow

breadwidow · 10/01/2018 21:01

Two NSDs in a row, and I've made some extra money selling unwanted things on eBay & doing some market research (£40 for testing out an app) Halo

PavlovaPlease · 10/01/2018 21:03

Not quite an NSD but only supermarket top up as I forgot to order lunch for the kids at school. In budget and just food.

ivykaty44 · 10/01/2018 21:19

I’ve just managed to get three books from the library that are on the Richard and Judy book club list - I usually enjoy there recommendations. I had one for Christmas but it’s coming to an end so thought at least the library is free - but three, must remember to renew online

I'm trying to find a balance when it comes to food shopping. Have done four top up shops this week which is too annoying. But have spent loads less money than usual.
I have to confess to some frivolous spending though I've bought a book for me and some felt tips for DS.

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 11/01/2018 08:46

Faith- good luck with the return to work, hope your feeling better, its boring being off sick isn't it? Being unemployed for 6 months when we relocated bored me silly...
NSD today, off to work in a min...

FaithEverPresent · 11/01/2018 11:55

Thanks Polly! I must have been bad because I haven’t been bored! I’ve had chronic pain that turned out fine endometriosis. Now it’s been found (laparoscopy) and treated I’m loads better. I fill the days between school runs. Now I’m better I’m tidying a lot! Before I was mostly sitting watching Netflix, drinking tea, doing crochet, eating comfort food and buying alllll the stuff off Amazon!

Yesterday wasn’t a NSD in the end! I forgot I had SW so I paid for a countdown which did spend but also saves money as is cheaper than paying weekly. I did another online food shop and again my bill was literally cut in half! I actually had to add stuff to get it free because it was under £40 initially! Today should be a NSD.

elvislives2012 · 11/01/2018 14:00

I've been pretty good at the NSD (chip app says I'm down 50% on his spending!) and as a result I can pay my car bill (£230) out of my debit account and not on credit! Hurrah!

PavlovaPlease · 11/01/2018 15:25

NSD apart from food (unessential but delicious bag of donuts)

PirateYellowbelly · 11/01/2018 17:49

NSD for me. Didn't manage it yesterday as had to do a top up shop in Asda. Ended up stocking up on all kinds of non- essentials just because there were good offers. Bit annoyed with myself for just adding to the trolley (which we only had as I needed to pick up some bulky shopping for work). Think a basket/hands would have helped avoid buying the unnecessary bits. Next time!

BrownLiverSpot · 11/01/2018 19:05

Didn't manage it today, new try tomorrow!!
