100 it takes a whole lot of self control and I do it for dh. I actually want to slap her in her stupid poison dwarf face

Dinner was lovely. We have one godparent. Woop.

Now watching the Attenborough doc about jumbo the elephant. I love elephants. One day we’re going to go on safari and see them in real life.

mammymammyIRL · 10/12/2017 21:30

Spends today €26.70 on a round of drinks for us at the pub, dh paid for McDonalds for lunch. We chose teddy for ds's stocking & dh will pick it up tomorrow.

100 sorry to hear you've been unwell

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/12/2017 21:43

I'm watching it as well em feel so sorry for this poor elephant, was also depressing watching blue planet, so sad to see how much damage we do to the planet.

Thanks mammy

Cagliostro · 11/12/2017 00:15

Was the elephant thing sad? Caglets wanted to watch it but I said no as I thought it talked about Jumbo's death?

Ice skating tomorrow. Well, sitting watching and chatting to home ed mums while the Caglets skate anyway.

Ordered more presents. Very nearly sorted.

Pink Definitely just tell the friend to go home. It's easier for them to visit if they know they will get clear instructions from you on when it is time to leave. It teaches your kids great conflict resolution skills too.

Still snow here today. We are counting down to ds's tooth coming out tomorrow as well. Gosh.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/12/2017 07:45

I'm sure wildlife programmes didn't use to show animals getting killed quite so often when I was younger. "The ducklings must make the perilous journey accross the Rapids" . Neither of us can watch them now.

Dh took my car today so I'm housebound. Cats thrown up and got it down the radiator on the inside so I have plenty to do.

Attempt three on soya milk today, the pre-cooked recipe.

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/12/2017 07:46

Jeez, that's a sucky to do list Fluffy. This thread fairly gives a person insight into other people's challenges.

Best thing for cat vom is cat litter
Sprinkle on leave scoop 😷🤢

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/12/2017 10:03

Carpet bit was easy, it's the chunks of vom on the slats behind the rad that are reluctant to come off. I've had the rad metal slat cover thingy off, had the foil behind the rad out, shoved e cloths & damp loo roll down there. I can still smell it.

It's bicarb next.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/12/2017 11:22

That's a lovely way to spend a day fluffy.

Dd off school today so we have been wrapping presents. Me on wrapping her on bows and tags. Got a short list of odments to get tomorrow if she is back at school. If not I will have to put in another day off.

Nsd today though.

northender · 11/12/2017 11:35

Oh fluffy yuk! I 'm not good with vomit so don't envy you there.
Have missed a few days & haven't read back yet.
Had a lovely weekend with friends in the Staffordshire moorlands which was snowy so we managed sledging and some cosy country pub time too. Now have 2 poorly children though, both got dramatically worse yesterday. Had them both at GPs this morning. dd has had cold & chesty cough for a while & now earache & oozy ear. GP says viral, need to sit it out so she has gone in to school with tissues and paracetamol (and a sulky face!). Ds is bang in the middle of his mocks and has a severe tonsillitis. 10 days of antibiotics and at least a week off school Sad. I'm feeling quite sorry for him as he's having a pretty rubbish time health wise.
I've got 3 days off to finish as much Christmas prep as I can although present wrapping will be postponed until we get ds back to school. Today I'm ordering and arranging what I can for a Christingle making session at church on the 23rd ahead of the Christmas Eve service. We make 300 so that's a lots of oranges, candles, raisins, sweets, cocktail sticks and ribbon.
Also need to crack on with sewing more Christmas bunting for home. Will take dd to choose a tree sometime this week and then put it up when ds is feeling a bit better.
Dh also has a day off tomorrow so we're hoping to get into town and finish our Christmas shopping. Managing the budget pretty well so far. I'm hoping for an underspend as the car budget is already overspent.
Also need to book my fitness classes for the next couple of weeks. I managed 5 days last week, not sure I can do 5 this week but I'll give it a go.

mammymammyIRL · 11/12/2017 11:41

fluffy can you remove the radiator from the wall at all? Sounds like that would be the most effective solution although time consuming and awkward.

Dh has a day off today so he's off to town to finish last bits of Christmas, he's also off on Thurs and Monday, finishing off his annual leave, despite telling me it couldn't be used in December/January Hmm

I'm going to start totting what Christmas has cost up after lunch if work stays quiet.

mammymammyIRL · 11/12/2017 11:41

north your poor ds, would the tonsilitis be stress induced? My sister used to suffer, and hasn't had a bout of it since she finished college

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/12/2017 12:00

North Poor ds. I used to get it loads. It got a little better with each attack. Ice cold water helped.

Mammy That would be easier but I don't feel confident doing it on my own. Dh will kill me if I flood the bedroom.

mammymammyIRL · 11/12/2017 12:58

I can imagine!

ememem84 · 11/12/2017 13:59

Nsd so far and I don’t see any more spends.

We went to baby group and saw Santa. Ds wasn’t impressed.

It is absolutely pouring here today.

MissingMo · 11/12/2017 14:14

Nsd here. Had some of dp family visit DD from Ireland. Their flight home was cancelled yesterday so we're making the rounds visiting family. Will head out and visit dsis later today then head home. Using up freezer food so no need to top up for that. Will try to encourage dp to start making plans to visit friends and family to distribute the presents and clear up my cluttered living room! Need to finish buying for one final friend and I'll be done.

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/12/2017 15:43

Pink LOL! My friends used to fall in our garden pond at that age. Definitely an age when guidance is needed. :-)

LonelyOversharer · 11/12/2017 16:44

I have had a nsd here, except £30 paypal for a new headlight for the Chrysler, the glass has been cracked for years a while, just got loads worse. Dp will give me this back.

My little car's rattle is fixed. Took dp five minutes to change the mount. Need to go to Ikea for a toy dd3 badly wants, and a slice of costco pizza. Might do that tomorrow now we have an economical car back on the road properly.

The decorations are back from storage, and I must set to and clear the room. They are clamouring to do it tonight, dd3 is bouncing off the walls. Shepherd's pie for tea, tonnes of pearl barley in it. They'll not notice and I like it more than lentils, that always taste of soil to me.

ememem84 · 11/12/2017 16:51

Bacon mac and cheese for dinner. If dh remembers to bring butter and cheese home.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/12/2017 16:59

NSD.
£10 John Lewis voucher sent for, I can use that in January for Waitrose.
£10 in nectar points claimed.
Voucher for 500 nectar points for dhs card received. I rarely use his card & he refuses to carry one incase his masculinity is questioned Wink so they've sent him loads of vouchers. I reckon he's had £15-20 since sept Hmm

Love pearl barley. It's probably really good for you.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/12/2017 17:09

Oh I will try pearl barley.
£12 in chemist prescription and ibuprofen.
£3 cubs later as only 1 going.
Made £3 selling a Nativity costume.
Hm pizza for tea. Loving my new bread machine.
Dh needs petrol £25
