Spendy day but am almost done with the dc’s stockings now.

I'm glad you told him to shove it em!

Well, 3-day postnatal hormone crash thoroughly set in I think. Had to do my first anti clotting injection and realised that while I had absolutely concentrated yesterday, I couldn't remember exactly how to do it... cue sobbing and freaking out in case I did it wrong. DH helped me upstairs instead as didn't want DD getting more worried about me. Then I was explaining to him how it's totally normal on day 3 due to the hormones, and realising he didn't really know purely because when it happened with Caglets it was in the night and I was stuck on my own in the postnatal ward not understanding what the hell was happening. So remembering that made me cry more.

SIGH. She's lucky she is cute and 100% worth all of this. ❤️❤️❤️

SnugglySnerd · 28/10/2017 15:27

Ouch Laska sciatica is horrible. Hope you feel better soon. You too Wreck.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound like I have it worse because there are 2 of them. It isn't worse. Sleep deprivation is just horrible for everyone and we do get the occasional night where they both sleep through.

Cagliostro · 28/10/2017 15:36

Nobody would think you were implying that snuggly Thanks must be bloody hard though!!!

Haven't heard from Meadow today hope she is ok :(

WreckTangled · 28/10/2017 15:39

Poor meadow I hope they find a medication that helps.

I have nothing to whinge about just now. Except I'm freezing cold and want to go home (for a nap), but we're waiting for a customer. Can he hurry up please? I have sorted out a monumental amount of clutter today from in/around/under/on my desk counter, and dismantled it. Three bin bags of rubbish (out if date dry food from 2015 Blush ). It would appear that I throw very little out. I have overheated my shredder 3 times.

Nsd so far, but need to check my account, and pay some off my (many) credit cards.

My ex used the word "foist" in relation to him holding pfb 'for' me. He's lucky I didn't stab him to death. I was probably too tired at the time.

CollieBobs · 28/10/2017 15:50

Can I join grumpfest too? I cried all day Thursday and luckily that was hormonal. But had some really shitty news yesterday. Why does cancer even exist? I hate it and I feel pissed off.

Spendy day. We did half a weeks shop to get us by until payday £37 in Waitrose. (Waitrose was quiet)

Then £10 on tights & lipstick in Sainsburys. (Sainsburys was full of pushy plebs with trolleys & horribly busy)

Then there was too much traffic to go home due to an accident on a roundabout so we HAD to go the beach Halloween Wink

Off out tonight so hoping I'll be happier tomorrow after a lovely evening with friends

We aren't bothering with Halloween this year because DS doesn't really care Halloween SmileHalloween Blush

Hello newbs
And hope everyone is doing well x

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/10/2017 15:51

Ha I remember the sleep deprivation days. Flowers to you all. I get pissed off at those who babysit while the other goes out. No you don't baby sit you parent by yourself. Ffs

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/10/2017 15:52

I do think dads find the newborn bit hard, I guess they don't necessarily get the rush of hormones that the mum does and newborns are quite ummm 'me me me' if you know what I mean Wink I tend to think dads come more into there own once the babies get a bit more interesting older.

Mn logged me out last night

I have been having a bit of a meltdown here, not sure why but since ddog arrived my anxiety has gone through the roof Sad its honestly not been this bad in years and I don't understand why as the dog has really been very good. But today I have literally been sick with it, I wonder whether its just the worry of the commitment and having another thing to look after. Have found myself really pining for a partner as this is where they would come in really useful! Don't want to give the dog up but will have to see how I go as well....

Anyway I managed to get through work somehow and am sat on the sofa sipping camomile tea which is helping!

NSD.

Welcome Curly

DH has had a nap. He’s so sick dontchaknow. Ds and I had a nightmare with his car seat and the pram adapters. Fixed now. And we’ve been outside for a walk.

WreckTangled · 28/10/2017 17:36

Managed to get the dc to eat the JO hidden veg sauce by making into bolognese.

I want to go to bed but keep thinking I really shouldn’t especially as the clocks go back tonight! Maybe dh will get me some chocolate that’ll keep me awake...

Girlie I kind of know what you mean about pets. We've been feeding other people's pets over the holiday to see if we would like one too, and I'm finding it way less fun than having a pet as a child. These days I get all the responsibility and none of the fun, and it's very very different. I think we might just keep feeding other people's pets for a while. Ds doesn't seem particular about having one himself.

Wreck sorry to hear about the temperature. I have a throat thing and am in bed, but it feels like gold-plated luxury compared to what everyone else is going through right now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/10/2017 18:12

Yes the unfortunate thing here Sunny is that dd is animal mad, I honestly think she will end up working with them one way or another when she grows up.

I would have been happy with one cat....

Those books turned up so quick Wreck Shock there doesn't seem to be a difference between 1st and 2nd class postage these days!! Hope you feel better soon.

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/10/2017 18:25

I see what you mean Girlie. I loved animals as a child and I think it was my rehearsal for my grown-up caring responsibilities and for dealing with people generally. It definitely helped. She wouldn't fancy something easier than a dog would she? Having a relaxed Mum is probably quite high on her list of priorities too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/10/2017 18:33

I had no idea he had a cold Em Shock do Reuters know?. I think days off end when you have kids. There are no eu working directive for parents.

Sunny It's so different having pets as adults. You're ultimately responsible for everything & they can't tell you anything or carry a phone.

Dinner was cooking on a bootstrap spicy lentil soup. Cost about 20p.

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/10/2017 18:39

Fluffy It's really a strange business isn't it? I grew up in a house full of animals and had a sibling and now looking at ds with his no sibling and no pets and thinking Eeep! I'm getting behind. My Mum must have been very busy.

Our grocery shopping/food bill is down to £20 a day from £30 a day last year. I know that probably sounds bonkers, but on the restricted diets I'm managing, it's a huge success.

Cagliostro · 28/10/2017 18:53

do Reuters know? 😂😂😂

That's fab sunny! Dealing with multiple food issues is pricey.

SnugglySnerd · 28/10/2017 19:02

I'm afraid I make more fuss than anyone when I have a cold. Much worse than dh. The best advantage of going back to work is that if you are very lucky you'll be ill when dcs are at nursery and you can actually stay in bed!

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/10/2017 19:20

Grin fluffy

One of the hardest parenting lessons is realising that even when you are almost on your death bed, the DC still need looking after. Maybe it changes when they become teenagers though!

Well done sunny Star

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/10/2017 19:22

Yes snuggly being ill and off work on a normal work day is the best time to be ill!

ChristmasSeacow · 28/10/2017 20:20

And possibly the only time you'll be on your own in the house - luxury indeed!

AdoraBell · 28/10/2017 20:21

NSD. DH bought drinks out, and petrol.

CurlsandCurves · 28/10/2017 20:25

@Sunny that’s a massive achievement, specially when food issues are there too, everything is going up in price, it’s a constant battle.

@snuggly I remember having such a heavy cold, I was dizzy with it, but had a 3 mth old who wouldn’t nap. Big coat on, pushing him round in the cold, feeling like utter crap. Make the most of them being in nursery and look after yourself.

Hope everyone’s having a good Saturday night xx
