free £5 from Amazon

CollieBobs · 15/09/2017 12:44

@laska oooo naice shoes

Just purchased some toys for Xmas & saved £15! Just a scooter to go. (For DS)

Then its the parental units to buy for.

I'm wearing my Dubarry boots today. I adore them! accidentally bought them a few months ago by complete accident. Wasn't my fault at all in the slightest. Used my savings

ChristmasSeacow · 15/09/2017 12:44

Lovely brunch. Spent about £10, just got home and stil have 3 hours until I have to fetch DS. Now sitting holding DD for a change, not and feeling relaxed.

Nice shoes Laska

Sorry you are having a hard time Cag

That sucks about the Jawbone Collie it would never occur to me that they might stop being supported and become useless!

Fluffy home made mayo is easy as long as you are patient, and it is much more delicious than shop bought. You've made me want to name some!

But first I need a nap. Fitbit says I had done 7000 steps by midday, I was quite surprised.

Enjoy your last day Em

ChristmasSeacow · 15/09/2017 12:46

Make some, not name some. I don't name my food except Richard the fish finger sandwich

Loveabaconsandwich · 15/09/2017 12:59

Hope you have a lovely last day em and I'm sure a teary eye is obligatory Cake

Ooooh I like those shoes in real life laska , much nicer than the stock photo

£9.20 in M&S on reduced meal and cake tonight, chocolate covered raisins and yum yums reduced meal for the freezer.

I woke up with a stonking headache which won't shift even though I've had paracetamol, ibuprofen and loads of water. But DD2 did sleep until 6.50am Halo Counting down the hours until DP gets home so I can go back to bed.

Laska5772 · 15/09/2017 13:01

mammy great spot thanks! Flowers

Richard? What nonsense is this?? seacow fish finger sandwiches are called Ferdinand ..

Cagliostro · 15/09/2017 13:16

Ooooh Ferdinand vs Richard in a fish finger throwdown 😂😱

WreckTangled · 15/09/2017 13:26

Need yes I can but won't get it until end of October.

Just had a letter from tax credits saying we owe them over £800. Not sure how they worked that out as we haven't even had that this tax year Hmm

Omg laska I love them!!

Laska5772 · 15/09/2017 13:28

I'd just like to point out that I am Not out to enable anyone. Its just a lovely photograph.. Wink...

Laska5772 · 15/09/2017 13:32

well except Need, perhaps but thats only because she laid down the challenge on the last thread Grin

LonelyOversharer · 15/09/2017 13:35

The wheels on the car go round and round... all on and fitted with no problems, double phew. Car feels a lot more stable and I'm a lot less worried about getting pulled over by the police.

£75 in asda (testing the new wheels out) but mostly race stuff. Dp was Shock at how much I was getting, he's never done a pre race shop with me and had no idea.

And another bloody bomb on the underground. At least it doesn't seem to have gone off properly, so saved lives/limbs but honestly, wtf. It leaves me lost for words.

Yes laska much nicer on than the stock photo, I'd go black laces if your outfit is black, but white with jeans?

em have they given you some nice goodies? It must be a relief to know you can relax for a bit and concentrate on nothing for a possibly very little while.

Has anyone heard of Nordic Skating - it's like summer cross country skiing on huge rollerblades using poles? I really fancy it, as skating on road here is down right dangerous, and we have a lot of tracks round here. I think I'd look a bit of a tit, but that's never bothered me so much.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2017 13:35

I call my robo Hoover Sebastian. My travel BBQ is called Cholmondeley St. John (pr chumley sinjun) No idea why.

Mammy Your halo looks just like a posh halogen oven so you could probably cook loads in it really. I bet you could do cakes in it too.

49p big bottle of bubble bath for hand soap
65p cheap wrapping foil for cooking.

I have done everything on my to do list notepad 😊

Loveabaconsandwich · 15/09/2017 13:56

My robo vacuum is called Bob. I feel sad that we didn't spend more time choosing his name like we did the DC Grin

Cagliostro · 15/09/2017 14:05

I just realised that being iron deficient coupled with the advice to increase protein gives me the perfect excuse to eat more steak. YAY!!!

DH is at Tesco for a (probably big) top up but spends today:
£4.90 bus pass
65p water
50p weight machine in Boots. I wanted to record it just out of interest to see what happens with the whole HFLC thing. And I haven't weighed myself since early pregnancy (amazed the consultants/MWs haven't been as I was referred due to BMI). Apparently since my booking appt when I was 9 weeks (now almost 32) I have lost about 7lb. Confused Opposite to what is expected (and I certainly gained a lot especially with DS) but I don't suppose it can be a bad thing really

thewaitresses · 15/09/2017 14:17

Laska i love your shiny new shoes!!

Mammy well done on the Wright loss. I'm desperately hoping (hoping as I'm not actually doing anything about it Blush) to lose 1lb a week before Christmas - apparently that's a stone!

Fluffy I'm sure I'm not original but I've been on and off this thread for 5 years now (various user names!) and can remember when threads were named for months as some months wouldn't get past 500 posts and there was a lot of celebrating if a thread neared 1000 posts by the end of a month!

I think I've had 3 NSDs this week which has helped enormously to feel back on track.

mammymammyIRL · 15/09/2017 14:21

collie my Dubarry boots are also on my feet today. I need to buy boot socks though I've concluded as my current socks are too thin at the ankles and they're chaffing a little bit.

laska I can't use it I don't think but I'm going to check if it's possible at paypoint outlets in ROI.

I just had an aldi hike banana flavour bar and omg they're lush, the other flavours are just ok, I did finish off the jar of nutella on top too. 8g I weighed it the jar before and after Grin Not buying that again until halloween have warned the dc Grin

fluffy you've set me a challenge! I only really cook chips/sausages/chicken in it Blush
I've gone one step further with bubble bath for handsoap and changed to bars, this was inspired by ds pouring two bottles down the sink though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2017 15:39

Dh has soap. Apparently only soap gets you clean. Unless I don't hide my dr organics Royal jelly soap free £6 a bottle shower gel. That also gets you clean Hmm.

Waitress I remember those days. Me, Adora, creme, rogue pixie, mumtofergus, boffinmum & you under a nc. There was a woman who lived near a Waitrose & would buy food for pennies & still get the multi buy discount.

mammy I do that plus roast potatoes in a 9" cake tin. I've done a cake in there & home made pitta bread. I only use the oven now on pizza night.

ememem84 · 15/09/2017 15:54

fluffy dh went through a phase of using my lovely lovely products. Then denying it. It backfired when he used shower gel with a hint of glitter as a face wash. I didn't tell him. He just went to work sparkly for days. Grin

I've eaten too much. Had an enormous bowl of pasta and a piece of tiramisu for lunch with a lovely glass of champagne. Grin

Beautiful flowers from work. Not entirely sure how I'm going to carry them home. Huge beautiful flowers. All blue and purple and white. So lovely. And a bottle of pink gin. Yay!!!

Cagliostro · 15/09/2017 16:50

It's funny how we can't even really name threads for a particular month anymore as they fill up too fast nowadays :o love how busy it is here

Just realised when sorting the diary that ballet starts in an hour! So glad DH is off and can take her :o nothing to pay yet as they do paper invoices

Got a few lessons booked in so yay :) not really a source of income anymore but it's something, and I really love doing it.

:o at the glittery DH. Reminds me of a story I read on MN about a DH who accidentally used fake tan instead of, erm, something... ended up with orange palms... 😳😳😳

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 15/09/2017 17:13

That reminds me of the very first thread I read on MN.

Someone had read somewhere to bathe their new baby in milk and cinnamon and possibly some honey added in. Unfortunately the Baby ended up caked in cinnamon and she needed to know how to get it off because the midwife was about to arrive.

Blood test results all look normal. Which was what I was expecting.

NSD so far. Mostly because it's rained all day and I haven't left the house yet.

needastrongone · 15/09/2017 17:32

There are some funny tales on MN for sure Smile

Glad all is well Rafa, although I hope you feel well soon.

I'll only raise the enabling stakes if you challenge me Laska Grin

Ah - what lovely colleagues Em. Savour these last few days/weeks of 'freedom'. I know you are obviously desperate to meet the wee man, but these are precious days, I wish I realised that.

So, I have been vociferously complaining to the company that fitted out our walk in wardrobes for a week or so now. Today, I got a £300 reduction in my final payment, which is far more than I would ever have imagined! With this money, do I?

  • save it for Christmas
  • spend half, save half
  • buy both me and Fluffy some of Laska's lovely new trainers, given she teaches us all in the name on frugality and complaint?

Votes will be taken...

needastrongone · 15/09/2017 17:33

And stop being so bloody maudlin Fluffster Grin

Cagliostro · 15/09/2017 17:42

Shoooooooes. Gotta be the shoes. Y'all can be shoe buddies :o

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 15/09/2017 17:43

It's no longer a NSD. All three of Philip Pullman's Dark Materials books are on sale for 99p each on kindle. Threw in one of the related short Stories for another 99p as well.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/09/2017 17:44

How long have you been on the thread Fluffy? I reckon I have been here about 3 years now Shock

Wreck that doesn't sound good, I dread hearing something like that from TC. They honestly don't seem to know their arse from their elbow most of the time though so hopefully its just a mistake.

Well done on making it through to your final day Em enjoy your maternity leave and your last few days of peace and quiet Grin

I have just bought dd a fitbit type thing for Christmas link it was half price on Amazon, will be interesting to see how much walking she does! She tells me she had a plate of chips for lunch today Hmm so much more difficult to police what she eats now she is at secondary.

Think have managed a NSD, am very happy its Friday!!
