I've only heard of it being an issue for pregnant women who have NOT had CP themselves :)

needastrongone · 17/05/2017 17:58

If you have had it Em, then you are fine.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/05/2017 18:06

How are ponys supporting legs doing now?

OP posts:
needastrongone · 17/05/2017 18:47

Sorry, been a busy day and I'm going out in 10 too Grin I'll post later fully but thanks Fluffy, his supporting hind is swollen and a little hot, so he's got some supporting bandages on. Totally normal as he's shifting his weight, but needs monitoring.

DD's mate did the pony tonight, we did him this morning. I can't honestly remember the last time DD had a night off.

ememem84 · 17/05/2017 18:51

Phew. Thanks guys.

Bacon cheese and veggies in pasta bake tonight with super leafy salad. There'll be a ton leftover for lunch tomorrow. Yay.

needastrongone · 17/05/2017 18:53

Fluffy, just freeze the chicken Smile

needastrongone · 17/05/2017 18:55

You can never have enough shoes, there's been research done about it... but extremely sensible choice Laska.

Aww, hedgehogs. Love them.

needastrongone · 17/05/2017 18:56

Cag We paid for a room and believe me, we were not this comfortable when the DC were little, quite the opposite. It made such a difference..

ememem84 · 17/05/2017 19:01

need I read your message to fluffy as "just freeze the CHILDREN" must wear glasses more

So. Dsis has bought baby spring jumpers. With dinosaurs on them. For next year. She's had a rubbish day and is emotional shopping. And she's just realised she's going to be an aunt. It's all sort of hit her today. Haha!

Cagliostro · 17/05/2017 19:09

Awww dinosaurs! I would love to get Dino stuff for baby. And knowing DD, she will request matching stuff in age 10-11 :o

Cagliostro · 17/05/2017 19:14

I feel better now I've made the decision re: hospital. It's less of a scary financial commitment now I know I'm getting PIP TBH as at least the money is there. Of course it may be irrelevant anyway but I know that if I need it I can do it without fretting about whether I should

CremeEggThief · 17/05/2017 19:18

Spends: £6.20, on a take away breakfast, as I was on the go all day. It was lush- fried egg, mushroom and cheese bap. Le yum!

Coppersulphate · 17/05/2017 19:18

I have 7 pairs of shoes and 3 of those are exactly the same but different colours. I wait until they are worn out then buy another pair the same but don't throw the old ones out.
I had 2 sections and had a private room each time....free because babies were in incubators. Couldn't have afforded it.
Need, glad to hear DPony is recovering.
If you have a fence you can cut a 13cm hole in it as a hedgehog roadway, apparently. I am going to try and make a hedgehog house.....when the rain stops. It has been heavy rain all day. And cold.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/05/2017 19:31

I transferred to an mlu with DD and had DS there before it closed. Lush.
Frugal living is totally to be able to pay for the stuff that matters and more waste on stuff that doesn't.

£31 in sainsbury. Had to go there and get the Lego vouchers or there will be war on in my house. Thanks to bacon I think it was who offered your spares. It's very kind and just let me know. No worries either way.

MeadowHay · 17/05/2017 19:52

Hi all. Had a fairly chill day. I do have an exam tomorrow but it's a French one so not something I can cram for. Did the two available practice translations that were online and then did a practice question for another law subject I have next week and just rested a lot tbh, I slept for 12 hours last night Blush. My exam exhausted me and on top of that my hormones are wreaking havoc today - headaches, feeling boiling all the time, sleepy one minute and then full of energy the next, extreme nausea that only lasted for a couple of hours and then disappeared Hmm. I have recently come off my hormonal contraception so I guess my body is very confused atm.

Need Glad DPony is recovering Flowers. I watched Yorkshire Vet yesterday and they had some gorgeous horses on there face with hearts for eyes that I don't think you can do on MN And I thought of you and Em!

Cag When I actually got my Asperger's diagnosis the consultant psychiatrist who diagnosed me said that they often use the diagnosis letters to get 'reasonable adjustments' in hospital settings e.g. a private room instead of a ward. The new A&E has two specific "autism friendly" bays and everything. So I am assuming that, well, if the NHS still exists when I give birth lol, that I will be able to request in advance a private room instead of being on the ward in light of that. As I don't think we could afford to pay and like you I would find that highly, highly stressful. As an adult I've only been in hospital overnight once ever for one night and that was one of the worst, most stressful experiences of my entire life (and not for clinical reasons) and ever since I have hated hospitals and they trigger my anxiety. And it's kind of funny as DH now actually works in that A&E department now. Anyway so if I were you I would talk to where you are planning to give birth and see if they can offer you adjustments like that for free first as a 'reasonable adjustment' for your disability.

I saw a hedgehog for the first and only time in my life when I was about 19 and on holiday in Wales in a small rural village with my friends. I was so happy I let out a shriek of excitement and got a photo next to it quickly as it was by that point curled in a ball because I had startled it Blush. Never seen one since Sad.

LonelyOversharer · 17/05/2017 20:19

Weather arse about tit it seems, as it's been lovely here all day. Got out on my bike, did 24 miles. Felt great but legs wibbly when I got off!

No so nsd as it turns out to be dp's birthday tomorrow I didn't forget so £40 in tescos and £150 on the rest of something he's been buying gradually!

Tonight I have sorted the automatic water cups for the chickens (self filling ftom a water butt) it works!! And got the main crop potatoes planted at last, and earthed up the earlies. So I feel like I've got some good jobs done.

Had largely good experiences with maternity, dd1 section so private room (was in for 2 weeks before I had her though on a ward, bloody noisy!), dd2 and dd3 were at the rvi in newcastle, so on wards and majorly busy. I transferred with dd2 to local brand new hospital to a private room (no ward), with dd3 I just went home as I was moving house 2 days later and wanted to get on. With ds I was only in hospital 9 hours (had him at 2am) so didn't make it to the ward.

cag do do use your pip money for the room. Anything you can do to make it easier, do it! You must not feel guilty for spending any of your pip on "frivolous" things, if you see what I mean. It is there to make your life easier. Be that a taxi if you're too poorly for 3 busses, a take away as your hands aren't working just now, or a private room after you have your caglet.

LonelyOversharer · 17/05/2017 20:21
  • I did forget it is dp's birthday tomorrow.
SnugglySnerd · 17/05/2017 20:43

Great idea, Cag. Funnily enough I've also been thinking about being frugal in some areas to pay for others, in my case I'm thinking of trying those posh ready meals you have delivered for the freezer (Cook I think it's called). I'd prefer to cook myself but some days it's just impossible and I'd love to just stick something nice in the oven. Going to run down the freezer next week to make some space.

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/05/2017 21:19

I can't remember if you were due a c section cag? If you have a natural birth you might not even have to stay in. With my second, I went home a few hours later and never went to a ward. I never experienced the pre-birth wards either as both times I've arrived at hospital ready to push Blush .

Fortunately didn't get rained on walking back to my car. Also meant I got more exercise, so more money in the bank and maybe get back to a size 10 in my dreams

Apart from that, I had an unfrugal bacon baguette for lunch. I guess to live up to my MN name it is a requirement to have one now and then Smile

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/05/2017 21:22

Great news laska. I'm going to a financial planning seminar next week but I fear it will tell me I have to work another 35 years. I have to Grin or I might cry!

Somehow I think you will find a way to still get the odd pair of shoes

needastrongone · 17/05/2017 21:27

Meadow, enjoy the horses from a distance, that way you will keep your money in your pocket Grin

Aww re the jumpers Em.

I have many shoes and don't wear them out, Copper Smile

Well done on the ride and the automatic cups Lonely, the latter sounds fab!

Spends today.
£5 Boot Camp.
£20 new bags for the vacuum cleaner (rock and roll....).

Made JO chicken kiev for dinner with roasted veg, very nice indeed.

Coppersulphate · 17/05/2017 21:28

Forgot to add spends. Went out for coffee with friends. £5.
Trying so hard now to save for amazing holiday and amazing greenhouse.
Might have to get part time job.

Coppersulphate · 17/05/2017 21:33

Need, it's not that I don't like shoes. It's shopping I don't like. Any shopping. Being in a shop makes me twitchy.
I can't shop with DP in a supermarket. He looks at everything and takes ages. Worried he'll miss a bargain. I go in with a list, collect all the items on list as quickly as possible and leave.
I should shop on line but I worry they will send me the wrong stuff, or short dated stuff. Anyway I shop for food in aldi.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/05/2017 21:38

Hi all, so dd is home Smile she had a lovely time but got very wet and muddy!! She also seems to have come up in a weird rash around her face and a bit on her arms and legs which is making me sightly concerned she has hand, foot and mouth Hmm not good when you have sensory issues and are completely exhausted. So not a total surprise when she has a full blown melt down at bedtime, finally fell asleep about half an hour ago bless her.

NSD.

mammymammyIRL · 17/05/2017 21:44

Ladies I'm giving up trying to catch up, I'll just start from here I think!
