Woo meadow well done.

Had a nice chilled afternoon with a friend, we hung out and chatted and she watched the Caglets while I went to midwife appt. I heard the heartbeat for the first time :) :)

Exciting em loooove baby clothes 😍

WreckTangled · 16/05/2017 18:40

£4.50 parking.

Bleurgh. Dd still has a fever but I'm afraid it'll be medicine and school tomorrow as she's been full of it today apparently. Not seemed unwell at all. Dh will go and get her if she feels unwell.

I haven't felt sick all day as I've hardly eaten anything. Suppose it's good for my waistline. Had smoothie for breakfast, protein bar for lunch and stir fry for dinner.

I have washing coming out of my ears so need to sort that tonight whilst Dh goes to see a friend. Might try and do the shred as I've found it on YouTube.

Cagliostro · 16/05/2017 18:40

Oh no meadow re work! Oops! Done similar myself

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/05/2017 18:51

Wreck Have you considered a food intolerance? The first time I had milk after I excluded it, by accident by the way, I was sick.

Need Is ponys leg improving?.

Meadow Well done but don't worry about the meeting. They probably just thought you'd got way layed.

£2 fray bentos suet steak and kidney family pie for lunch
£2 beer.

Life God you'd rather have bacterial infection wouldn't you?.

It doesn't matter what I eat unfortunately. Even a bowl of salad does it.

ememem84 · 16/05/2017 19:16

meadow well done on the exam. Ticked that one off. On to the next. Oops re work. Know what you mean re ddads and "schoolwork" mine is super clever and expected us kids to be the same lucky for us we did ok but always wanted to know results for xyz. And what others got. And if I got 95% in an exam or on coursework wanted to know what happened to the other 5%. Infuriating. Took the shine away from what should have been a great achievement. He is proud of us though.

Feel better wreck

I'm not feeling too great myself. Sinusey and ear-y and completely knackered. Booked a dr appointment for Thursday after work at lunchtime today because I need to have my whooping cough jab and need the maternity benefit forms etc. If I'm not feeling better I'll mention the sinuseyness too.

Laska5772 · 16/05/2017 19:17

I still remember some spectacular tantrums 26 years on!! Like the one where I left Tescos pushing trolley with one hand and DS tucked under my other arm screaming at one end and kicking the other.. I still remember the look one woman gave me.. and believe me I shot one back which said " one comment and you can have him"! (and i meant it ) she very wisely didnt.. Grin

86p in Co op. on milk

Frugal veg and left over roast chicken curry.. and I am boiling up whats left of chicken carcass for stock

and then I might have just ordered those rose gold Toms.. and another pair . Just to try on of course Blush

MeadowHay · 16/05/2017 19:25

Em Yes my DDad is exactly the same. So much pressure when I was younger but now I have gotten older I am much kinder to myself. I work hard and I try my best and given my poor health I don't think I could do better than I am doing. So that just has to be enough for me even if it's not enough for him otherwise I would be like him - a workaholic, overly critical of myself and everybody else, and just generally stressed and unhappy! And I don't want to be like that. But echoing need I do love him and I know he means well and I would say he is a good dad. I mean nobody can be a perfect parent after all, right? And thanks to what he would call "encouraging" me to study (lol) I am doing well and definitely credit my academic success in part to him and his help & influence. And then my mam's chill attitude to it all is a nice counter-balance for my sanity! Grin

Wreck Do you have a diagnosed condition for the nausea? I know how yuck it can be, I get bad nausea fairly often too, bleurgh. Flowers

Em Hope you feel better soon too. So many ill frugaleers atm!

Cag It must be lovely hearing the heartbeat for the first time, aww.

WreckTangled · 16/05/2017 19:38

Meadow I have a gastric emptying scan I'm half term and am under a gastroenterologist. Hopefully have a diagnosis soon as it's really having an impact on my day to day life.

WreckTangled · 16/05/2017 19:38

*In half term

LonelyOversharer · 16/05/2017 19:45

So, spendy today, £30 in argos for an ironing board for the shop (already have an iron there), and an extension lead with usb thingies. Then £50 to the private orthodontist to book an initial appointment (in july, like I'll ever remember) for dd1. This will be my first forray into private care. Bit scary. But she says the full treatment will be £1200 and can be paid a month at a time.

Quilt will be a graduated sky, from pale blue to black, with a solar system appliquéd on. He's 5 so needs not to be too 'baby'. I will post pics as I go. Had all the squares laid out on my bed, happy with the placings etc, nipped downstairs to put the spagetti on... my bloody cat walked across them! Took me ages to sort it out again Angry

Its been weird here today, muggy but so so windy. Everytime I mention a bike ride the weather goes crazy.

WreckTangled · 16/05/2017 20:04

I went to a primary school on an army barracks today. The man on the gate had a tank and a gun Blush

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/05/2017 20:45

Sorry about the three peaks need but sounds like the right decision.
The quilt sounds lovely.
How the scan helps you get a diagnosis wreck. Feeling sick is the worst.
Ah cag that's lovely hearing the heart beat.

My DM never pushed me and I wish she had.
I'm thinking about going back to the gym tomorrow as lots better but still not totally do we shall see in the morning.

WreckTangled · 16/05/2017 20:58

My parents never pushed me. I used to go out and stay out all night when I was 15. I will never be like that with my dc. They need to work hard so they can keep me in my old age Grin

SnugglySnerd · 16/05/2017 21:01

That quilt sounds amazing.

I'm sure I posted on here this morning but I can't find my post so maybe I dreamt it. Or possibly not as that would require being asleep for long enough to dream!

Exciting about the heartbeat, Cag. How many weeks along are you now?

I am spending the third evening running sitting in the dark listening white noise and waiting for the babies to go to sleep. We are trying to sort out a bedtime routine. I have the better end of the deal though, DH is cleaning the cat's litter tray and emptying the dishwasher.

£5 on cat food and milk today. Might take DD1 out for a small treat tomorrow.

Cagliostro · 16/05/2017 21:04

14 weeks now snuggly :) hoping my anxiety will start abating now as I'm out of the first trimester :)

Coppersulphate · 16/05/2017 21:37

Hope you feel better soon Wreck. Feeling sick all the time is awful.
And Cag ...hope you are better too. Wonderful on the heart beat.
Wow Sunny on the grant application. Is it for you to do some research at home?
How old are the babies now Snuggly....3 months?
Sorry about your buyers Em. I 'm sure you will sell it soon. I am coming over to Jersey in a few weeks , just for s few days. I have to "open" something. They will put me up. How the weather is good.
It's rained all day here and is cold and windy. Like February. Good for the garden though and it needs it.
May have just ordered a very expensive greenhouse. Don't tell DP. Hoping he won't notice. 12'x8' so quite big. It will take about 8 weeks. Will, save up.
But I do like pottering and have never had a really nice greenhouse.
Not frugal but it's why I try to be frugal. So I can put the money towards things that I really wNt instead of just frittering it.

Coppersulphate · 16/05/2017 21:40

Just been to a talk about hedgehogs. Fascinating. They are declining rapidly because there are now so many fences rather than hedges, they are asking people to cut a 13cm hole in the bottom of their fence so the hogs can pass through.

Nothing to do with frugality.
But interesting.

LonelyOversharer · 16/05/2017 21:46

Oh copper wow! Did you go for one with brick half sides? My biggest greenhouse is 10x8 and seems huuuge, so you'll have so much space! Opening something sounds so intriguing! are you Royal?

Have run the dogs on the bike, 3.5 miles, still windy but managable now. Just waiting for ds to sleep so dp and I can watch the Giro time trial. If dp doesn't come down soon I'll start it without him (then pretend I haven't).

northender · 16/05/2017 22:42

Em bad news about your buyers, hope things work out quickly & you find new buyers.
lonely the quilt sounds fab, I've been trying to create a design with some of my fabric stash tonight
need shame about the three peaks but glad you're getting sorted. Good luck to your dc with their exams, ds has his English Lit GCSE next week, then a year before the rest.

Taytocrisps · 16/05/2017 22:57

em just saw your news about the scan. It's a boy!!! Very exciting to hear and lovely to read about the baby clothes too. I still remember the excitement of shopping for newborn babygros and vests. I didn't know the gender though so I stuck with neutral colours like white, yellow and green. Sorry to hear about the buyers pulling out but fingers crossed for this week's viewings.

cag exciting for you to hear Baby's heartbeat for the first time.

Meadow glad the exam went ok. Good luck with the rest of them.

Love public tantrums are a nightmare (mind you, private ones are no picnic either). Don't worry about the other parents. I can guarantee you they were feeling a mixture of relief (not my child) and sympathy for you and your DD.

Laska exciting prospect re: retirement. Do you have a date set yet?

Lonely your quilt sounds lovely. Looking forward to seeing some photos.

I spent approx. €11 on a top up shop, €37 at hairdressers, €10 for DD's scouts trip (that she didn't go on) and I gave DD €10 for a school hoody. It's a school leaver hoody (DD will be leaving primary school at the end of June) and apparently it will have the school name and the names of all the pupils on it. I kind of resent paying for the hoody as I suspect she'll only wear it for July and August and then lose interest once she starts secondary school in September. But of course, she thinks it's the best thing ever and "everyone else is getting one" Hmm. Oh well, I suppose it's not too expensive at €10 - I think the school are paying some of the cost.

We had an information session this evening about a scout trip next year. There's a jamboree taking place in Ireland in 2018. It costs €400 for 9 days. I'll have to talk it over with both DH and DD. Aside from the significant cost, I'm not sure if DD would be happy to go away for such a long stretch. My first instinct was to say, "Sure, it's ages away. We'll think about it nearer the time". But they're looking for a small deposit at the end of the month.

AuditAngel · 16/05/2017 22:58

Hi All, Sunday NSD
MOnday £23.80 on a Chinese takeaway. Despite being home all day, DH didn't get anything out of the freezer for dinner.

Today £4.95 Slimming world, £3 to DS to top up his Oyster card.

WreckTangled · 17/05/2017 07:09

Need to buy some thrush treatment today. Tried a five year out of date pessary but it didn't work Grin might try the tablet but I know it takes a while to work...

Also have been invited out for someone's birthday at work so need to pay for that £25. Will also need to pay for parking. Again.

Dd is much better today. Need to sort the washing before work.

Found level 3 of the shred online so did that this morning.

LonelyOversharer · 17/05/2017 07:39

Level 3 shred wreck with thrush you are hardcore!! I am still at the glaring-at-the-dvd stage of beginner shred! I have lost about 1/2 a stone with diet and steps, but need a bit of toning now. I will actually put the dvd on soon.

Thrush is so awful. I only ever got it when pg (constantly). So I'm hoping it will never darken my door again, as my baby days are done.

The sun is out, the wing has dropped...will try to get out gor a proper pedal today. Will do chips and omelette for tea tonight, so hoping for a lsd.

WreckTangled · 17/05/2017 07:40

I actually prefer level three to level 1!
