And have paid £1000 off the cc this month. Getting there. Once cc are paid off then the freed up payments will go to our big loan and with the extra we should have that clear in 18 months. Its a long slog.

Needastrongone · 04/03/2017 13:54

You are working to pay it off All, that's the thing.

Never stops does it Wrecked? When do you start the new job? x

WreckTangled · 04/03/2017 14:01

£53 in Sainbos, eek.

Broken down thats £20 on cat/dog food and cat litter.
£17 on a gift
£5 lunch for me and dd and whatever left went on food and a few bits for a girlie evening tonight!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/03/2017 14:53

I think even acute trusts are slow, Wreck. The time it takes to a firm offer seems to be measured in months these days.

£23 in Tesco. Hoping that might last til Wednesday.

I may need to borrow Teddy, AdoraBell. I miss GSD sized cuddles.

ememem84 · 04/03/2017 14:59

Riding done. I think I overpaid...pretty sure in my rush to get back to get dh to the airport I didn't take my £5. So paid £30 instead of £25. Doh.

I did not cry at the airport. I did cry in the car on the way home. Sad

Am consoling myself now with a nice toastie nsd a bit of crap tv

Two weeks will seem ages. But it's all good.

The last time we were apart for this long was in 2010. He had to fly to nz to go to his nannas funeral. And got caught up in the Icelandic volcano debacle. He was delayed by a week that time and wasn't happy about it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/03/2017 15:55

Ah em. It's fine to cry

£108 on 2 pairs of shoes.
£28 water stones
£2 parking
£2.70 boyes

I need stardrops vinegar spray but can't recall where I bought it. Does anyone know the ratio to make a laundry spray for white vinegar?

DD still needs new trainers too.

Ipsomatic · 04/03/2017 16:37

We're having a great day. We just went for a walk and bumped into ds's best friend at the park. Proper fun, and free too.

SnugglySnerd · 04/03/2017 16:48

Nothing wrong with having a little cry, Em, I'd be very sad without DH for that long.

Lifelong I use one part vinegar to 3 parts water I think.

Had a lovely afternoon m, DH took DD to the park then I went and met them for coffee and cakes. That was £10 and I got a massive tube of toothpaste in B&M for £1.99.

Am seriously tempted by a takeaway tonight but trying to tell myself the need for it will be greater this time next week!

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 04/03/2017 16:50

Just £10 in the coop on little bits. not bad for a Saturday, my usual super spendy day.

Just home and its sunny, so really should go out in the garden. Can't be arsed and having a coffee instead. Just found out mil is coming for dinner tomorrow (I did know but had forgotten), so will have to tidy a bit. She's lovely and no bother at all, I just hate people seeing how messy the house really is.

mammymammyIRL · 04/03/2017 16:58

Sounds lovely ipsos
I went shopping with dc this morning spent their easons vouchers & got a lion guard cuddly toy, Lego & a where's wally wbd book.
Went to boots & availed of their 3 for 2 on no 7 cosmetics & a member of staff tried foundation on my face to get correct shade. Bought foundation, eyeshadow & lipstick from that range & then got mascara & brow kit from another range. Total €46.50 but I'd €40 vouchers.
Got 4 x 8 small pink lady apples in sv & 16 clementines for €8 & bonus when we opened the packs of apples they contained a child's apron in each.
€71,89 in Aldi
This left almost €47 out of weekly budget for groceries so I spent €40 in butchers & got loads for that. Will probably get about 3 weeks meals out of the meat. I know shopping bill will probably be bigger sometime in coming weeks so figured I'd balance it some bit.

ememem84 · 04/03/2017 17:07

Things I've discovered since dh has been gone:

A note under my pillow (was changing the bedding)
A "new" jumper (one of his hoodies has made its way into my wardrobe - with a note saying - look after this!)
Have also discovered he's left behind 6 pairs of shorts and 6 tshirts. I thought this was all he had. Either I was wrong or he forgot to pack them.

He's on the way to Heathrow now. Flight leaves at 10pm.

I'm making myself veggie stir fry for dinner with satay watered down peanut butter sauce yum.

Off for lunch for friend tomorrow then cinema.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 04/03/2017 17:26

Oh dear now I feel a bit guilty for being annoyed, although this woman was young.
Not frugal today, had to get new concealer and face cream but did get a deal of £2 off on the cream
and triple boots points.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/03/2017 17:57

I would be annoyed miss a. I hate noisy eaters

ememem84 · 04/03/2017 18:45

Snuggled up on the couch now watching Whitechapel. probably a bad choice as it's a bit creepy but so good

Looking forward to a relatively early night and a big cosy middle of the bed sleep.

WreckTangled · 04/03/2017 19:30

That's sweet em!

Well I took Ds and his friend to the party whilst dd stayed at my friends with her other dc. Then when I dropped her Ds back I stayed for a bit and she gave the dc all dinner. Dh phoned pretty grumpy about what we were going to do for dinner etc (he had worked 9 hours without stopping so hadn't eaten) so he decided to get a take away. Ds had eaten at the party but it wasn't a very good spread and he was still hungry so was my friends Ds.

Anyway home now, have eaten Indian and put dc to bed. Will open wine in a minute. Oh and my friend gave me a massive box of porridge as he dc didn't like it. Win.

Em, don't be upset. Be very positive. The alternative is no pregnancy and you having to go to NZ with him. This time next year he'll be a daddy.
DGS is 4 and going in to St Thomas' in London. Well the Evelina children's bit. Waiting to get date.
NSD eating from freezer

WreckTangled · 04/03/2017 19:40

Trying they're brilliant there.

Gawd trying 😭😭 I hadn't even considered that this time next year we'd be parents as stupid as that sounds oh my god.

I'm all good. I never get this much time to myself. And I'm looking forward to the time off work. I need a rest and I can do this uninterrupted. 😀

CremeEggThief · 04/03/2017 20:48

Lovely afternoon for me. Had coffee and cake with my friend (2 hours in Costa, getting our money's worthWink) and then went to see "La-La Land" at the cinema. Very sweet film. So, spends: £10.35 Costa; £7.50 cinema ticket and £1 loo roll.

Trying, very best wishes for your DGS's operation.

Tryingtosaveup · 04/03/2017 21:47

Thank you folks. I am sure he'll be ok.
Haha Em, being pregnant has consequences. It is becoming mummy and daddy. 😧

WreckTangled · 04/03/2017 21:50

It's crazy but I obviously knew we'd have a baby. It's just the association of us. Being. Parents. Which is a bit hard to handle. Parents are sensible. Parents are responsible. Oh jeeez!!! Haha!

Dh is on the plane. He's signed off. Until 10am tomorrow morning when he's going to face time me from hk.

Catface and I are in bed.

Ipsomatic · 04/03/2017 21:52

I remember the first time I realised I was about to become "Mum", and the shock of it.

I was at a baby show in London (The sort where you can buy baby stuff cheaper from suppliers).

When I went in I had to fill in a form that said the age of my children and my relationship to them. I had to write "-6 months" and in the relationship box I really had to think hard before I realised that the relationship was "Mum".

The lady who was watching me fill in the form was puzzled at my very slow reaction and then laughed knowingly when she saw what I'd written. Grin

I've spent £135 on private medical stuff this week (hearing test and GP visit) but it really helped with getting problems solved. I'm so glad I figured out this budgeting lark.

It's much better to spend a bunch of money on medical help and get a problem solved, than keep the problem and spend all the money on retail therapy.
