Sorry to hear that, Wreck Flowers

Numberonecook · 03/02/2017 16:04

£1.60 on a large cup of tea this morning and £56 to the childminder are my spends today. I've done rather well and just concentrated on work, not visited the shops at all.

Tomorrow maybe a different story as we are out all day!!

CathodeRayTube · 03/02/2017 16:11

That's impressive sorting your mum out like that Wreck. Well done. Sorry to hear about the job.

ememem84 · 03/02/2017 16:16

christmas bloody love a scampo.

So how does bikini work then? It's two pieces so is plural? But is technically one item???? Bikino?

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 03/02/2017 16:43

Spent 95p posting an etsy order (first this year), then £2.38 on sweets leaving the post office.

£10 on 8 huge plump local chicken breasts in the butchers (so glad I didn't get them in tescos now), three chopped into buttermilk for tea (they will get a spiced flour coating and deep fried, like kfc), its one of the 3 savoury 'tea' meals that ds will eat.

cag my brain turned panino into piano, and I thought, no wonder she's feeing a bit off!!

wreck chin up Flowers

snuggly what a relief that little twin is growing! I'm guessing this little fighter will be the more stubborn. are you allowed to try for a natural delivery, or are twins c/s for safety?? Just being nosy!

ChristmasSeacow · 03/02/2017 16:45

Well scampi, grafitti, panini are all Italian words so follow the singular rule. Bikini is named after the Pacific atoll so I don't think it would follow the rule! So you don't need to think too hard about how to describe it next time you get your baps out on the beach 😉

Sorry about the job Wreck. I agree with Fluffy, I expect they had a lot of interest as it is term times only. You could ask for feedback if you are interested, it's not weird. I used to give it whenever asked (quite often, I'd say 1/3 of candidates asked).

CremeEggThief · 03/02/2017 16:47

Sorry about that, Wreck. I think it's worse when you've come very close. Be kind to yourself this weekend. Have you or could you plan anything nice with the family or friends? I've been there several times and it's tough.BrewCake

Cagliostro · 03/02/2017 17:22

Knitting DH did once get me a bag of chocolate pianos. They were tasty (much nicer than today's panino which was a bit meh)

Appt made - only ONE available all week apparently and annoyingly it clashes with one of my pupils so had to cancel a lesson. I wish the walk in centre was still open, that place was a godsend 😞

ememem84 · 03/02/2017 17:35

I didn't know that about bikini. So getting my baps out on the beach in the summer will be fine. phew.

Spends today £10 in holland and Barrett. On a ginger mix (dried crystallised and chocolate coated) ginger tea mint tea dried strawberries and dark choc raisins and pumpkin seeds and ginger oatcakes.

The advice from the shop lady re morning sickness was to treat it like a hangover. And eat hangover foods. So salt and vinegar crisps and cold lemonade. I didn't ask for the advice. She offered it. Apparently buying a fuckton of ginger and mint products means preggo.

Also almost threw up at work. Sad but didn't. Grin the boss had told all the directors (4 of them) and has sworn them to secrecy until I'm ready to announce it. I was talking to one of them and thought I was going to hurl so told him to hold that thought and ran off. Grin eugh.

Bankers and mash for tea!!! Yummmy

Tomorrow I'm going to the stables. And am going to speak to my instructor and tell her what's going on. Im hoping she's ok with it so I can hop on and give it a try. I think I want to carry on for as long as I can. But won't know until I try.

Then afternoon tea with lovely friend. She'll want a glass of bubbly with it so I'm telling her I had too much tonight and am still hungover. Grin

SnugglySnerd · 03/02/2017 18:43

It's a bit of a mixture, knitting, had emergency section last time and twin 1 is breech so doctor is keen for it to be a section. Also a midwife friend told me it's quite common for people to deliver twin 1 naturally and need an emergency section for twin 2. That seemed like the worst of both worlds so I've made my peace with the section!

blueteapot · 03/02/2017 18:48

Delighted for you Em!

Sorry wreck. Same situation here. I have another interview coming up soon and am now more nervous Flowers

As always I am following and dipping in and out to post :)

Frugal wins today - clothes 80% dried on the outside line as it was a lovely dry day, but cold

Spent £1 on toddler group which is always great value as DD gets to play, and a snack / drink, and theres coffee and biscuits for the adults

£5.86 on snacky bits for a playdate, most of them are still here

Car is in for MOT as we speak so fingers crossed it passes without needing any extra work done

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/02/2017 19:14

Em the name Aurelie is beautiful, one of my closest friends is called Aurelie and I have never met another one, she does get called Lee sometimes though which I don't think is as nice!!

Wreck that sucks, good that is was close and you never know they might have you on the reserve list.

Cath palliative care is generally reserved for people for whom there is no other treatment other than symptom control. Most of the palliative care I do is for people with cancer sadly, sometimes other conditions as well like MND. It is sad but like I said if nothing else i can hopefully help someone have a peaceful end in the place they want to be - home.

Seacow has the OT assessed your son? They might be able to help with some of the sensory issues and come up with some plans. They were really helpful when dealing with dds SPD, she was similar with clothes and would quite often strip if they had got slightly wet or uncomfortable Blush I went with it as far as possible in that she wore very soft clothes. The OT did give us some techniques to deal with the issues including a soft brush to use on her skin with the aim of desensitising her a bit but actually as she has got older it is slowly becoming less of an issue, she actually wore jeggings today for non uniform which is a first!!

Dd had her forst clarinet lesson tonight, the lady was lovely and very patient. Dd said she loved it so all is good Smile the first lesson is free and we have agreed to this being a regular Friday evening thing. Its nice that she can come to the house as well and I haven'y got to take dd anywhere!!

Spends
£2 non uniform day.
£2 cakes for myself and my student at work (well deserved - it was a slog of a list to get through today!!)
£30 Amazon on various bit and pieces, all needed (including a clarinet book that the teacher recommended.)

Got the £45 back that I spent on a colleagues baby gifts, will use this as spending money for the month so hopefully won't need to get any cash out for a while.

Have I told you lot that i'm attempting to go chocolate free for Feb?? Its so so hard!!! Honestly all I can think about is Chocolate

Cagliostro · 03/02/2017 19:19

Ah Em the glamour of pregnancy eh? :o Glad you didn't puke though!

Yummy pasta for dinner, ideally would've chopped up a load of extra onion/garlic/celery for the freezer, but it just felt a step too far for me today. As it is, I spent several hours in bed this afternoon feeling crappy and sorry for myself, so I'm rather pleased I managed to cook at all! Again - achievements not failings!

On our part when a patient is EOL we make sure a gp sees them if they haven't very recently as if they haven't seen them in the last two weeks then they have to go for a post mortem. The district nurses and macmillan nurses can always tell. We know once a patient has a syringe driver there isn't much time left. It's not very often they hold on for more than a few days over what the nurses have said. We have a 49 year old on EoL at the moment. Horrible. Life sucks.

mammymammyIRL · 03/02/2017 19:33

Sorry to hear that wreck I was in this position 9 years ago & 6 months later they ran me & said first preference didn't work out & I've been in the job 8 years now. Feedback could help. Don't dwell on it, if it was tight you did a great interview.

Seacow what age is your ds?

I just dropped dd to Ladybirds ds wasn't impressed with me leaving him in car but it was in the middle of a shower of hailstones drove the 2 miles home & he wouldn't answer my questions or make conversation, turns out he fell asleep as soon as I started driving so now I'm sitting in the car looking in at a lovely open fire waiting until it's time to collect dd again cos I don't want to wake him Hmm

I'm skirting around a scratchy throat again, eyes feel heavy too. Dh working tomo so all the running & racing will fall to me Sad

Girlie that's interesting I thought palliative care was only for cancer patients. There's a new palliative care unit under construction at our nearest hospital. Wow choc free well done.

I sent my trackers to my Unislim leader & she agrees that I'm doing everything as I should(5 years as a leader I should hope I know what I'm doingGrin) she suggested blood tests but I've have them done several times Hmm

My spends today were zero. Work colleague treated us to lunch. I had a toasted chicken cheese & sundried tomato wrap le yum

Welcome rattie have you check out a girl called jacks recipes? Might find something useful there. I made puy lentil salad Monday night & it featured in most of my lunches this week & as a ten am snack today to finish it off. Very cheap & filling

Cagliostro · 03/02/2017 19:33

No chocolate for a month? You have my admiration girlie :o Shock and YAY sooo glad DD enjoyed her lesson :) I hadn't realised that was for her coming to your house as well, that's a fantastic price. Have you got her a music stand? Thankfully folding ones are pretty cheap - I'm thinking of getting one for when I have recorder pupils here. I think there are some nice colourful ones on Amazon anyway. :)

DD's had lots of compliments on her new charity shop trousers today! I know just what you mean about the jeggings achievement BTW, felt like a miracle when DD started wearing them. She does actually wear proper jeans now too since getting some for her birthday, I never thought I'd see the day.

mammymammyIRL · 03/02/2017 19:35

You made a lovely home cooked meal for dinner cag forget what didn't get done

blueteapot · 03/02/2017 19:39

Palliative care also covers thing like end stage COPD, end stage heart failure amongst others - it's a speciality in itself and the district nurses in our area do an excellent job in conjunction with nurses from the hospice who also do home visits. I would imagine having quite a few EOL patients on your daily rounds must be quite draining, Girlie. Well done you on resisting the chocolate :)

Car passed its MOT Grin

Cagliostro · 03/02/2017 19:41

Aw thank you Mammy Thanks :)

MeadowHay · 03/02/2017 19:45

Today was in work 11-4 then went to a bar with some of my colleagues after for a couple of hours, spent £4 on wine. And got ridiculously drunk off it Shock (given the amount I mean). I hardly drink any more though and hadn't eaten for ages so I guess that's why. Trying to sober up now because I need to make dinner soon for DH coming home! Am going to just cook the tortellini with pre-made sauce because I am too tired and drunk still to be faffing about for ages in the kitchen!

CremeEggThief · 03/02/2017 19:49

Gosh, goodo luck with no chocolate February, Girlie. I'm still on dry January until tomorrow, but there's NO way I could go a whole week without any chocolate, let alone a month. You should have got us to sponsor you for something!Grin

Spends: £25 weekly bus pass and £26.45 on my card in Wilkos.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/02/2017 19:52

Yes blue it is quite draining, we have had 2 on syringe drivers this week and managing the families raw emotions is so hard. Both patients fairly young as well Sad bloody cancer Angry

I have so far managed 3 days with no chocolate if you don't count chocolate bourbons, they're not actually chocolate right?! Wink It is so hard, one of my patients gave me a kitkat today and I could have cried watching my student eat it Grin

Yes Cag I am pleased as well, hadn't thought about a music stand! Have just put a purple one in my basket, am fortunate my dad has agreed to pay for some lessons. Dd is a lucky girl to have doting Grandparents Smile I still can't imagine dd wearing jeans Shock wondering if that may change soon though as she has suddenly become slightly more aware of how she looks which is a double edged sword....

We are watching Ice Age for about the 50 millionth time Grin Dd and i can quote it pretty much word for word, love this film!!

Cagliostro · 03/02/2017 19:57

Ice Age is fab! Didn't like the 4th one (not seen the 5th) but the first I've loved since before we even had the Caglets :o I have a cuddly Scrat (well the Caglets do now) and a Buck (from #3) beanie baby which DH got me because I love Simon Pegg :o :o

Should really do laundry or something.
