Cag I'm Welsh and round here Emrys is a boy's name.

Cagliostro · 22/01/2017 17:08

Oh is it?! Thanks, I didn't realise as it's very pretty! It was mentioned on a thread as a girl's name.

Lots of Welsh boys' names sound quite prettily girlish to non-Welsh people: Talfryn, Arwyn, Derfel...I suppose because it's quite a musical language.

Cagliostro · 22/01/2017 17:18

Yes, I love Welsh names generally :) it's very melodic. We were pondering some as we thought DH was Welsh... we even gave DS a middle name that DH said was an old family Welsh surname his grandmother had changed when they fled Wales. So a lovely way to honour her. Then DH's grandmother died, and on doing some family tree research FIL found out she had made it all up and tricked the whole family 😱😂

It's hard to see how it's attached underneath. What goes on down there? Cag

confusedandemployed · 22/01/2017 17:30

Cag 😂

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/01/2017 17:32

I hope you feel better very soon MissA & creme. You'd think working in education you'd have bomb proof immune systems.

Snug There's probably not much room in there for the twins to move. One more week then you can devote all your energy to baby growing.

need Excellent savings there.

I found a fitness DVD recommendation on S&B, 10 minute solutions. There cheap on Amazon if you buy used or free on YouTube. There's different ones for abs or bums etc.

I looked at our local leisure centre, £25 a month! I can't afford that so I'm going to do a YouTube one instead. I still have all my gym gear from 12 years ago.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2017 17:50

Fluffy I'm back to getting fit. I have ten weeks until New Zealand and I want my almost when tensed six pack back. I'm going to start the 30 day shred again tomorrow.

mammymammyIRL · 22/01/2017 18:03

€12.05 in centra actually got a lot there for this 1litre buttermilk, birds eye 5 southern chicken fillets, 2 extra large cod, 14 fish fingers. 1.5kg frozen chips & tin Thomas the tank Heinz spaghetti - can you guess which of the dc I had with me? Smile

So dinner tonight was pasta bake using a jar & southern fried chicken for dh(he's being a proper ass today)

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2017 18:38

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/01/2017 18:49

That's very kind Mammy, I tried the shred but it was too intense for me & a bit rough on my knees.

Thank you for offering though.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2017 18:53

Fluffy I also find it too hard on the knees
So I omit the jumping jacks and do my own thing Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2017 18:54

No worries fluff. If anyone else wants it shout.

I know some with emrey who is a boy of Turkish decent. Not sure if I've spelled it right.

We struggled with girls names. DS was easy as he has a family name from all 3 sides. DD middle name is one of the family names and mine is the other. Dh and I took ages to agree her first name. Both traditional

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 22/01/2017 19:10

Haha I tried the shred too, got annoyed with how aggressive Gillian is and decided to go with the much more sweet and fluffy Kayla Itsines

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/01/2017 19:20

Not keen on Silas as it makes me think of a baddie for some reason Grin no idea why but otherwise love your lists Peonie

Felix is a cool name Wreck

I love name threads, sorry back to frugaleering!!

Dd is getting very into the smoothie maker, she is now blitzing up her own!!

WreckTangled · 22/01/2017 19:26

girlie he was the baddie in heroes

Tryingtosaveup · 22/01/2017 19:36

NSD here. In meetings all day so nowhere near shops.
Went out at 8am this morning and it was -6 degrees. I've been to some cold places but never known -6 here before. Cold. Took ages to scrape car.
Snuggly glad you babies are moving about. Like Fluffy says only one more week of work.
Sorry Cag, I can't work out how to do that.
And yes to flu jab. I've had mine and I think it's helped me to stay healthy.
Cath, I've noticed that too.you do sound so much more positive.
Knackered now so early night.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2017 19:37

It was still -4 here at 9:30 this morning. So cold!

Needastrongone · 22/01/2017 19:40

Forgive me for I have sinned. I have bought boots that I don't need. I did get an extra 10% off sale price and another 10% through TBC, so they are well below full price. But I don't need them. They cost about £65.

Needastrongone · 22/01/2017 19:43

You okay Mammy? Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2017 19:46

They are lovely boots though

Peach9876 · 22/01/2017 19:49

Not managed to read the whole thread as I never have enough time, every time I come back to read another couple of pages 5 more have been added!

Hope it's okay I join in occasionally.

Quick (long as I can never keep anything short) bit about us. Just DP and I (and a few pets). He works, I'm disabled and struggle a lot with pain etc.
We're normally pretty good with money but I've had a shock this week finding out the joint account only has £230 left in. It was over £4000 before Christmas.

So quick breakdown of essentials and I estimate there is a gap of about £900-£1000 a month we don't 'need' to spend. I've upped the shopping bill a bit and plan on sending DP with a packed lunch (oh the cruelty) for the foreseeable.
We're planning 2 holidays so I'd like to save £500 a month for those (and clothes, spending money whilst away etc) and he's redecorating the house (aka making a mess and spending LOTS of money), but there are some big things that need doing so £500 a month towards that would be great... Why can't money grow on trees.

So payday (his hard earned wage) is in 3 days, my PIP was like a drop in the ocean this month. I'm hoping we can save AT LEAST £500. If we can then I'll push it higher next month. We've a few birthdays coming up and I'm guessing the first month will be the hardest.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/01/2017 19:53

You do what you like peach, nothing wrong with a packed lunch IMO. If he's got petrol in his car & a packed lunch he could leave his wallet at home.
