ememem84 · 09/01/2017 11:48

stumbly just a thought re your counselling sessions but do you have health insurance with your work? I do and can claim things like counselling/acupuncture back on it if I have a gp referral.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/01/2017 11:49

I can eat a whole Soreen in a day! this is why I am fat

We made it to the cinema. DS was a bit scared at the adverts (loud and a bit disorientating) but he is all smiles at Sarah and Duck. I don't normally have my phone on in the cinema but we are the only people here! I got an inkling we might be when I was greeted by name as we came in to collect our tickets Grin. Shame really as it makes things like this unviable.

Off for pizza for lunch(next door). This will have been a very successful date day! Unfortunately I couldn't find a voucher for pizza express on line. Well, I found one but kept getting an error message when I tried to download Angry

WreckTangled · 09/01/2017 11:56

Apparently we're getting all new storage heaters, a new emersion heater and maybe solar panels!

Won't be a nsd as ds wants to go to soft play.

mammymammyIRL · 09/01/2017 12:32

Great news wreck
I'd to google what a soreen was.

I

ememem84 · 09/01/2017 13:01

I bloody love soreen.

CathodeRayTube · 09/01/2017 14:43

Welcome FridaFrugal !

Sorry to hear about the bed Cag. Floor beds are great for gymnastics.

It's grey and wet here. The huge tall muscular roofing man came and pushed his luck and tried to lean on me to have our whole roof replaced and I said "No" quite firmly so I feel quite good about that.

Also enjoying the rain.

£2.30 soft play
£5.05 coffee and cake for me and drink and snack for ds

Wraps for dinner tonight. I will probably forgo the wrap though as they make me bloated. I do love them though.

Cagliostro · 09/01/2017 16:04

I'm back! Appt was pretty helpful. Childcare plans fell through though as the train needed to get them to my friend was cancelled. So saved on that bit of train fare. But made up for it with a magazine each for while they waited. It was a 90min appt and they had lots of compliments on their excellent behaviour :o

Anyway I feel more confident now, as the volunteer went all the way through the form with me and showed me all the criteria. He did say that I am pretty much guaranteed to be invited for an assessment though which is a bit scary.

£5 train fare
£3.20 bus fare (I have used my last 2-day pass on my phone)
£10 magazines/water etc
£5 hot chocolate Hmm
£10 Sainsbury's for dinner stuff. Oh rotisserie chicken how you call to me. Blush

Needastrongone · 09/01/2017 16:29

Small steps make big savings Stumbly. Smile

Glad the appointment went well Cag, I thought it might. Stuff is never as frightening in reality than you imagine it might be.

I'm glad your DS coped with the cinema Scarecrow. Good for him, trying something that could be overwhelming and dealing with it!

£18, top up shop of fruit and veg, various sandwich items.

CremeEggThief · 09/01/2017 16:42

Sounds good, Cag. I hope you feel a bit clearer about it all now. Even if uou are refused at first, I think most people get it on appeal. DS's bedframe broke just after Christmas, so I've temporarily solved the problem by wedging some suitcases under the frame. It's working very well.

Welcome Frida Smile.

Glad the cinema trip went well, Seacow.

Spends: £9 so far (£7 on bus and Greggs coffee and doughnut deal for £2), but I need to pay £35 for my next block of 5 Pilates lessons and pick up some salad and chocolate later.

Brightermornings · 09/01/2017 16:43

Ive got a dentist appointment next Monday my filing has fallen out 😩 I am nhs but still an unexpected bill. I'm not in any pain but when I phones for advice she said I needed to get it looked at.

WreckTangled · 09/01/2017 16:57

I forgot to tell you all what 'd'h said the other day ShockAngry he was putting the food shopping away and pulled a packed of mini peppers out of the fridge 'shall I chuck these?' He says. I reply 'are they mouldy?' He shrugs and says 'the date says the 2nd Jan.' Pfft. They were find, honestly who looks at the date on fruit and veg?!

thewaitresses · 09/01/2017 17:15

Love the name frida!

£8.50 coffee and cake with my mum.

ememem84 · 09/01/2017 17:37

Today's achievements. Used up 2 boxes of tissues. Ate a cheese toastie. Am onto season 6 of Gilmore girls

Nsd

Tryingtosaveup · 09/01/2017 17:54

Cag, so glad it went well at the CAB. I think those volunteers do an amazing job.
Em, sorry you're ill again. You don't seem to get really better.
Seacow, glad mini seacow enjoyed the day out. I think the cinema can be scary for lots of kids. My DGS ( aged 4 ) would not believe it wasn't just a bigger telly.
Welcome newbies. This is a really friendly thread.
Another NSD. I need lots as the bathroom bills are coming in thick and fast.
DP bought me some seed potatoes, onion sets and salad onions. Potatoes are chatting on the window sill. They are first earlies so can go in in March for a June crop. Put rotted horse muck on the roses and the second veggie bed. Got soaked but it had to be done.
When I was running a lot I used to eat Soren malt loaf whole. In the supermarket and then pay for the wrapper. They didn't mind. I always asked. I love sticky, gooy, malt loaf.

Cagliostro · 09/01/2017 18:22

Thanks all. Just need to write it all out now from the notes I made - I'll get on with it once the Caglets are in bed.

TBH I am fully expecting to be refused first time round - rules are getting tighter and I know some people who have blatantly obvious life altering disabilities who were still refused it at first Hmm Confused it's a joke, this system, I just hope I can find the strength to fight it. But I have a feeling the lovely Frugaleers will help me with that. :) :)

CathodeRayTube · 09/01/2017 18:31

That's great that your readying the gardening Trying. I'd be really interested to know what you're doing as you go along.

SnugglySnerd · 09/01/2017 19:01

Goodness there's a lot to catch up on today!
NSD, too tired from work to spend money. Going to watch tv and eat Xmas cake.
Off to catch up with the thread now...

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/01/2017 19:05

Hi all, glad your date with your son went well Seacow sensory issues are much more recognised now ime so am sure a good school would fully support your son and have plans in place to cover those sort of eventualities. That said dd was much better at holding it together at school but that meant I got the brunt of it at home.

Good news Wreck fingers crossed on the solar panals, I bloody love mine! They totally paid for our electric use in the summer Shock

Glad appointment went well Cag and your children sound a credit to you Star

Em I agree you seem to be going from one bug to another Sad have you had your bloods checked? I wonder if you are deficient in something (vit D?) Are you taking a decent multi vitamin? I took an odourless garlic capsule over the winter and feel that helped ward off coughs and colds.

I have had a busy day at work, my legs have been so sore after my burst off exercise ystd Blush

NSD.

Dds party invites have gone out and have had 6 yes replies already so thats a good start!

SnugglySnerd · 09/01/2017 19:17

Sorry, meant to say thanks for mortgage advice last night. I don't really understand offset mortgages but will look it up. Think I'll keep aiming for overpayments, we're only managing small amounts anyway, £50 here and there when we have it to spare.
Well done on your appointment, Cag, sounds helpful.
I've spotted a lot of frugaleers over on the declutttering thread. Maybe we should organise a massive car boot sale to combine our goals!!

ememem84 · 09/01/2017 19:23

trying girlie

I think it's because basically everyone at home and work have had some sort of bug and I've been so busy.

I am deficient in vit d. And am due a booster injection. I was taking a multi vit and a vitamin d tablet but both say not to take of pregnant or ttc. Tomorrow I'm calling my gp for an appointment to discuss all of this and to get my booster. im officially on the ttc "Diet" healthy eating loads of exercise (when feeling better) and no booze. Lots of water and sleep.

I'm conscious that Im verging on "older" for being a mum (an 32 so am not old but "they" say if you haven't done it by 35 you're higher risk and there's less of a chance...) so want to be careful.

That said I've said to dh I will keep riding when preg and will keep gymming. Dh is on board with the gym. But is hoping I try the riding and actually feel unsafe so stop. Current there's a lady in my group who's 6 month pg. she's not allowed to jump. Our instructor said to her she's (instructor) is ok wth it until she (lady) isn't ok with it. But she (lady) has to listen when instructor says no. And vice Versa.

what is stat may pay in the U.K.? I was looking at ours today. Once pg I will get £204 a week for 18 weeks. Plus a one off of £609. Plus my work pay (6 months -4 months at full pay 2 at half pay).

People on fb here have been moaning about the stat pay. But I'm not sure if that's good or not...

Wildernesstips · 09/01/2017 19:24

Wreck you can chop and freeze peppers if you don't think you will use them soon. Excellent news on the solar panels.

Cag well done on getting the advice.

Northender I used to go to uni in your town and lived near the football ground in my second year!

NSD for me.

Em get better soon!

WreckTangled · 09/01/2017 19:30

em it's 90% of your wages for the first six weeks the £139.58 for the next 33 weeks and you can take the rest (up to a year in total) unpaid. You still accrue holiday too.

ememem84 · 09/01/2017 19:39

Ah ok.
I was just wondering. I think ours is better.

Rissotto for dinner yum.
