wreck some jobs you spend more time proving you have done what you're supposed to do than doing what you should be doing. But wow, look at that cat!

Creme what a lot of stress for everyone.

Fluffy Grin

purple I heard a friend talking about tissues and organs using a lego analogy yesterday. Reminded me of your toy analogy.

NSD today.

WreckTangled · 05/01/2017 18:53

Ah snuggly! How far are you now? They could have a growth spurt over the next week and be back on track Smile

Creme I'm glad your cousin is still improving it sounds like it's going to be a long recovery.

I've changed the dc's swimming lessons so they're on the same day but with the same teacher. Hopefully ds will get on with her better plus will save petrol money.

CremeEggThief · 05/01/2017 19:05

Thanks all.Flowers

I don't FEEL that stressed, as I'm away from the situation, but I have had a few minor panic attacks lately, where my chest feels tight for a while, usually when I'm relaxing on the sofa at night. Deep breathing and rationalising it in my mind sorts it out, but it doesn't stop it re-occurring.

Snuggly, try not to worry. They're keeping a close eye on you, so you should all be fine.Brew

mammymammyIRL · 05/01/2017 19:06

Wow wreck he's humongous!!

WreckTangled · 05/01/2017 19:12

Grin😸 he is very big and despite how it looks he does like cuddles (he lets me know when he's not in the mood!)

ememem84 · 05/01/2017 19:35

Just casually baking peanut butter flapjacks. #winning

ChristmasSeacow · 05/01/2017 19:52

NSD - mostly due to DS being a nightmare all day and not daring to leave the house. And I am not very perky after the DH snorathon last night. Sorry, H. Need I would have decamped to the spare room had the bed been made up - I stripped it when NY guests left but now it is covered in clean-but-not-folded washing. Grr. I did plenty of kicking, I can assure you. Usually he stops but last night, after 30s respite, he was off again. The snoring equivalent of the weeble bouncing back up every time! I will get my revenge - if my last pregnancy is anything to go by I turn into the snore monster when I get to the last trimester Smile

Snuggly Flowers. I am sure they will catch up again, growth isn't always even, but good that they will be keeping a close eye on you. You've not got too long left at work, iirc? That will be a relief.

I've had a letter through for my first midwife appointment. It is combined with an information session and it is 2 hours Shock. On a day when I have DS. He is not going to tolerate that at all and I've no one to leave him with - very few people are well known enough to him. DH has used up so much leave on the autism course we did last term that he hadn't much left. Grr. Not sure what to do. I rang up and they can swap it for another week but they always do them on the same day.

Love the periodic table chat - the category thing is a great way to explain it to kids. I can't wait to teach science to my own kids.

Em I used a clear blue ovulation monitor thing - was a bit of an outlay and also the sticks were costing a fair bit each month but I figured it was cheaper than IVF! I have since found that you can get fairly cheap ovulation sticks and pregnancy tests on the internet - perfectly good and accurate if you can keep your own charts. I will try to find the link. I do recommend it to everyone who is finding things a bit slow because before we started, with DS, I assumed I was ovulating around day 14, like they say at school, but was actually day 20-21! I'd never have got pregnant without them too knackered to have excess sex . Second time around I used them again, expecting roughly the same result, but was ovulating at Day 13-14. Cycle length not really different. So weird.

Wreck with any luck your good work should get recognised in your CQC report. I realise it's not as rewarding as a pay rise but would be very satisfying to see your contributions noted as all working well.

creme glad your cousin is doing better

Lasagne and spinach for dinner with beefy stuff from freezer. Cheese to be added to mine afterwards do not crispy but an acceptable compromise! I might go mad and chuck in some garlic bread too. Woo.

ChristmasSeacow · 05/01/2017 20:00

em mmm, flapjack!

These are the ovulation thingies I found a bit late - lots of different sellers. I used the One Stop brand pregnancy tests too, they were good

PurpleDaisies · 05/01/2017 20:09

purple I heard a friend talking about tissues and organs using a lego analogy yesterday. Reminded me of your toy analogy.

You can teach anything using Lego. Love the stuff. Grin

Still no spend here but guinea pig is off to the vet and it's car pick up day tomorrow so getting mentally prepared for the bank balance to disappear.

SnugglySnerd · 05/01/2017 20:21

Thanks everyone, I'm hoping for a growth spurt, eating a lot more pudding in the hope that it might help!!

Cagliostro · 05/01/2017 20:28

Lego is epic for teaching stuff, we did a family tree with it going back to their great grandparents, using colours for nationalities to show why the Caglets are 1/4 American and 1/8 Welsh. Anything hands on like that is a winner in my book :)

Thank you so much for all those suggestions Purple wow! Thanks I am on my phone rather than laptop at the moment so will investigate properly later! But looks super helpful.

Spendy mcSpendyface today but will confess all later. [braces self]

I have been propositioned. Neighbour wants a puppy and is suggesting we dogsit for 2/3 days each week and will pay £100 a month Confused Shock

thewaitresses · 05/01/2017 20:32

Snuggly I'm sure your two are growing nicely in there. There are so many variables with angle, position etc. Just think, only a week til you get to see them again Smile

£36.60 on shopping to last til next Thursday (I hope).

WreckTangled · 05/01/2017 20:35

Wow Cag I think that's awesome! All the fun and you're getting paid for it Grin plus no vet bills.

chocolatespiders · 05/01/2017 20:53

Nice Cag
We sort of had an arrangement like this. For a weekend dog sitting we would be given £20-40 loved the extra cash as a single parent and my kids loved having a cute dog about.
Then we had the dog for 13 days while they went abroad and were not given a penny or a bottle of wine! We like having her but it is not flipping easy!!
Hoping they don't ask again this year to be honest!

Wildernesstips · 05/01/2017 21:07

Hi all. Bit spendy today as car was in for service and MOT £190 and 80p on an essential bag of crisps!

Creme pleased your cousin is picking up a little.

Needastrongone · 05/01/2017 21:22

Cag, think you've had a dog before? A puppy? They are pretty full on, like another child. You might have to adjust your HE days so as not to be away from puppy for long, take it for walks etc, move anything chewable. They are like batteries when young, don't stop. And tying. But if only part time, then a good way to make money. Just be aware they restrict you a lot too and have quite a few needs. Love my two though, and they have taught the DC so much. Smile

Scarecrow Bah humbug to snoring bloody DH's, or H's. I don;t know what to suggest re the appointment I am afraid.

Snuggly I am sure all will be well, which is easy for me to say. It seems the medical profession wasn't too concerned?

Good news re your cousin Creme.

Ouch for the car Wildnerness.

WOW for the cat Wrecked. Public sector staff are so undervalued, in general poor you.

£5 Boxercise.

Cagliostro · 05/01/2017 21:29

Nope never had a dog! TBH my instinct is no and I think DH's will be the same. If it was just walking it or something then fine but... so we will probably decline. Not least as we hope to be rehoused and technically that could happen quite soon and then he will be stuck.

Cagliostro · 05/01/2017 21:31

The only reason I'd do it would be that it would be like the kids being able to have a pet, sort of, but really not convinced we would be up to the task frankly. He did say we wouldn't even have to keep pup at ours but that seems unfair on them really

SnugglySnerd · 05/01/2017 21:37

That's a good way of looking at it Waitresses, thank you.
No the doctor didn't seem that concerned. He had a very serious tone but told me to put it to the back of my mind.
A puppy sounds exciting, Cag! I've never had one but I think they can be quite a handful!

Cagliostro · 05/01/2017 21:55

I would love a dog really but there's no way - not with my health the way it is. Couldn't have it full time for sure.

Jan 5
£3 bus
£16 on card in entertainer but that was DS' xmas money (he's still got £9 left!)
£5 krispy Kremes to share
£12.50 hotel chocolat sale Blush partly for my parents though...
£5 drinks in board game cafe
£8 book for one of our home ed friends, party next week
£14 H&M - I messed up. We were going to fitting rooms and DD's nose exploded Hmm so had to ask for tissues etc, assistant assumed I had put clothes on the counter to buy them, and with being flustered and preoccupied with DD (blood everywhere!) I just thought oh fuck it! So got leggings, jeggings, joggers and a Star Wars tee for that (after taking my credit note off) and she has tried them on at mum's and they all fit, so I'm not taking any back (especially since I finally found joggers DD will happily wear! WIN!!!). They had sod all in the sale in store though. Anyway thank you all but I won't be needing the voucher as I have got the bits already and really need to avoid clothes shops. But thank you for the offer, much appreciated! Thanks :)

On a more positive note though my mum bought me a wok - in Iceland they are doing a buy 3 uncle bens things and get a free wok so she did that for herself and for me. I also now have a lot of rice. :o

Tryingtosaveup · 05/01/2017 22:05

Wreck, wreckcat is amazing. Really huge.
Crime, glad your cousin is getting better, even if very slowly.
Cag, why not try and negotiate to see if there could be a compromise that would suit you and the pup's owners.
Need....can you post dress pics please?
Spends £1 on tea with friends.
Tiler is coming back on Wednesday and will finish by Friday so feel as if I am getting there.
Have not had chocolate, sweets, biscuits or cake yet. Not lost any weight yet. It's been 3 days.

PixieMiss · 05/01/2017 22:16

Gorgeous cat Wreck

I hope your cousin and other family members are holding up well Creme Flowers

Good luck with future scans Snuggly I had the same but he caught up after a week or two Smile

I need to get a passport for DS and DH. I don't even want to think of the cost...

northender · 05/01/2017 22:48

So pleased to hear your cousin has improved creme. The tracheostomy will help her to wean from the ventilation.
snuggly try not to worry
cag glad you enjoyed the play
need love the idea of your dh sleeping in the walk in wardrobe!
wreck CQC is a nightmare, not surprised you feel drained. I managed to avoid a grilling when we had a visit.

Staying an extra night here. It's a long and silly story, but in brief, DS today won the chance to meet one of his favourite footballers tomorrow (only League two so don't get too excited!). It hasn't cost us anything as we are staying with family; dh and I are both off work still tomorrow so we decided to let him do it. It will mean a worse journey home traffic wise and I've had to reschedule a tesco delivery but it'll be worth it.

Today dh & ds played pitch & putt while dd & I took dnephew for a long walk to help dsil out as she was getting pretty desperate for a break. It was lovely to be able to help her as usually we are 300 miles apart so can't do anything so hands on. The brewery trip that dh went on with his dad was a huge success yesterday. Fil declared it the best present he'd had.

Plan for tomorrow is to load up and leave by 10, go to the waterfront, have a bit of a walk and a cafe breakfast, then go to meet the player before setting off home at around 1pm. Tesco delivery is booked for 10-11pm but I'm hoping we'll be back well before that. Won't be posting tomorrow.

CathodeRayTube · 06/01/2017 03:51

Christmas and Em I used one step too, they were great. Totally agree on how much it helps. They are practically free on Amazon and it's the brand they use in the NHS, I believe.

Snuggly How far along are you with your pregnancy now? Good idea to eat well.

Cag I was chatting to ds about your home ed stories and he got very interested indeed. It was first day back today and I think the the idea of working from home appealed a lot. Smile
