Rather than spending a small fortune on cereal bars etc, I thought I'd do a batch of flapjacks and things on a Sunday night. Any inspiration for easy to make after school treats?

Popcorn. Very filling. Cheap.
Nigella makes a thing like flapjacks that you can use your last few cm of cereal up with. I think it's called lunch treats.
Toast and hummus

i made some flapjack last night!
failed, as per usual.
It is now renamed granola, and it is delicious

the only way i succeed with flapjack is if i roll them into balls and cook in paper cases.

Have you tried the MN flapjack recipe? Uses condensed milk and is very gooey and delicious. I think it was posted by SoupDragon.

Oaty biscuits

Ingredients
• 75g plain flour
• ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
• 75g demerara sugar
• 75g porridge oats
• 75g butter
• 1 tbsp golden syrup

Method

Preheat oven 160'C/Gas mark 3
Put the plain flour in a bowl with half a level teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
Add the demerara sugar and porridge oats and stir together
Heat the butter in a pan with a tablespoon of golden syrup
Mix it altogether and roll it into balls (you should have about 12)
Set them well apart on a greased baking tray and bake for 7-15 minutes, depending on your oven, until golden brown

I used to make these all the time.
