NSD.

I'll catch up properly later, but just to add my admiration for the cake, MummySmile. Le yum!

ItalianWiking84 · 11/09/2016 20:12

Interesting to hear how ppl are doing finances, always found it interesting. We have everything joint together, from saving to budget to spend. Only thing that's on accounts are split is pensions but that's only because by law your only allowed a certain amount pr year into private saving so it's linked to your cpr nr., but the accounts are visible for both of us...

Mummyshortlegz · 11/09/2016 20:22

This year has flown!

I think I spent £100 on the party but we have loads of meat left over in the freezer and my mum brought my plums and apples. People bought G winter clothes as I asked so that is really helpful.

I need to go through my accounts tomorrow and sort out my budget. I've got lazy!

Love it mummy. Which reminds me I need food colouring. Any excuse to go to lakeland. Mmmm lakeland = bankrupt.

SnugglySnerd · 11/09/2016 21:05

I didn't realise the cake was stripy inside too, that is amazing!
We have joint current and savings accounts too and I agree it is a bit silly with birthday pressies.
I am already in bed! Hoping to read some of my book if I can stay awake!

Ememem84 · 11/09/2016 21:14

Mummy, that cake is amazing. If you had not shown a pic I would not have believed you. Why can't I cook like that?
Em, do hope Millie is better tonight. I still miss my little cat.
Fed up today. Was with some friends who wanted to have lunch out. I really didn't want to but.... You know how it is.....ended up having to pay £19.90 for set lunch for DP and me. We were with a group at a distillery so it was too difficult to refuse. It's very very tight this month and there are two birthdays. Just hope I can sell some stuff.
When I was married we had a joint acct for bills but exDH and I had different ideas as to what constituted " bills" ( ie ALL of his spending). It only really works if you have the same outlook to £. But it can work really well.

Ememem84 · 11/09/2016 21:55

trying me too. I have to work tomorrow and can't be doing with getting up during the night.

Dh touch wood hasn't snuffled/sneezed since we came back.

ItalianWiking84 · 12/09/2016 05:50

Trying: I would say that our financial view are 95% alike, and we discuss spending if it's bigger spends. Most of our usage per month are petrol which is avoidable due to work and groceries. We both love to do stuff with dd so what left over mainly get spend on that.
I just made the grocery shopping list for this week and surprisingly we only need milk, bread, freezing bag and flavored sparkling water which is my pregnancy graving...

Ememem84 · 12/09/2016 06:21

only summoned by her royal highness kittycatface twice last night. Once at midnight and once at 3. Am awake now and am sitting in the hallway with her and a cup of tea. She's been brave enough to move from under the table to behind the chair in the hallway. I've moved her biscuits and water. I'm not sure if she ate yesterday. Sad

Everything I've read has said she will eat when she's hungry so we've left food out she knows where it is and she'll have to eat at some point right? It is so sad to see her that afraid to trust anyone she won't even eat.

Off to work today will probably pop back at lunchtime to check on her so should be nsd. I paid for the parking cards last week.

lilacclery · 12/09/2016 06:36

Cake is amazing mummy

How we do our finances has changed & this has helped to ease arguments a lot. We've a joint account since Jan 15 all bills for house & dc come from this we each transfer an equal amount weekly when we get paid. I manage it in ynab.
We've our own current accounts into which we get paid out of mine I do my transfer to joint acc & pay my car tax & insurance, diesel, clothing, weekly newspaper, beauty & hair, fun money, contact lenses & mobile phone bill.
We've a savings account for bigger bills which I also manage eg Christmas, wood pellets etc
I've savings in Christmas club at work too.

We went looking in a car dealership yesterday so I could show dh a particular car he wasn't familiar with. It wasn't there but we found a car that's perfect for me it has everything I require in a car, high spec, low mileage, big boot, tow bar (used once yearly to bring home turf), cheap to tax (190 vs 710 for current car)and will cost half the price of the one I test drove on sat & is much more affordable. It's 2012 & 1.6 diesel, the loan I have with credit union currently is repayable at €70 weekly, this would come in at €66 weekly but I plan to repay €90 weekly in order to pay it back a year earlier & save interest. Very happy as its 7 years younger than my current car. We will sell au pairs car(2002) for cash then maybe €1000. Dh said we'll put that off my new car loan but I think half each against our credit card debt as its higher interest.
We will keep my car (2005) as its never cost anything to repair thus having two good cars & dhs troublesome van!
I'm so SmileSmileSmile

Hopefully kittycatface will settle soon, my father had a dog who had obviously been mistreated before, he'd walk happily with you if you'd your hands in your pockets if you took them out he scarpered. He did come around to my father but remained cautious with everyone else.

Result on the car lilac. Sounds perfect.
Hope you enjoyed your s spending trip.

Must move off mn now

Ememem84 · 12/09/2016 07:05

Me too. I had a tea then crawled back into bed. Must get on with the day.

It's funny, I sat with her for an hour from about 530. No noise at all. I came back to bed and she called out. She knows we're here. I have a sleep talk recorder on my phone so think I'll leave that set up and will leave my phone here today. To see what sort of noises she makes when we're out.

Every time we've left the house I've told her we're going out and have promised we'll be back. I don't want her to think she's being abandoned again.

Collieballs · 12/09/2016 07:23

Em can you leave the radio on for her? Something chatty like BBC Radio 4?
She's so lucky to have you and your DH - shell realise that very soon :)

NSD today!

lilacclery · 12/09/2016 07:41

My spending trip for clothes will be closer to Christmas I just wanted yer opinions on if I should use the money on clearing debt now or keep it for then Smile

OP posts:
Mummyshortlegz · 12/09/2016 07:41

Em - she will be fine I guarantee it. Our last four cats have been rescued and hated people to start with but time has done wonders. Radio on low at night might help? If she has been used to being with a lot of other cats she might be calling for them. I ignored night calling, I'm a harsh cat mummy. I've always had them in pairs so a bit different.

ItalianWiking84 · 12/09/2016 09:17

Em: some music or the radio on would most likely make her more calm... Perhaps also cuddly planket that she can lay on... But I'm sure within days she's rule the house...
And just keep food and water close to her...

I was suppose to have massage today but she cancelled, a bit annoyed but then money saved. It's a friend of a friend who is studying to be a masseur so the price is lower because she needs practicing. She wanted to practice also on pregnant so my friend suggested me.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/09/2016 13:07

Hi all, I've nipped home on my lunch break so am quickly catching up!

That cake is properly amazing mummy Star well done.

Being single obviously don't have the whole how to spilt finances debate but I am fairly certain I would never do everything jointly. My mum and dad did joint everything and when they spilt up it was a nightmare plus I like to have financial independence!!

Yesterday was a successful NSD, spent most of the day at home and went out for an hour to look for conkers, found lots so dd was pleased! Friend came over with her kids in the afternoon and we had a good time.

I have sold an old tv unit for £35 so thats a bit of extra pocket money.

Am going to aim for a NSW or at the very least LSW this week!!

Mummyshortlegz · 12/09/2016 14:45

Just filled out YNAB and un picked the last week of spending. I need to be good with house and gift spending till the end of the month. I've got one birthday to deal with but apart from that I think it's ok.

ItalianWiking84 · 12/09/2016 15:07

Nsd, went with all the bottles for pfand so that paid for the couple of stuff we needed and gave me 3£ back so that's perfect...

northender · 12/09/2016 16:03

That cake is amazing mummy.
My only spends today have been £4 on curry paste and eggs, £3 on birthday cards & £3 on a drink & a cake with a friend.

CremeEggThief · 12/09/2016 16:10

£7.24 in the shop (2l milk, cheese, 4 pack veggie burgers, 2× 1l juice and 4 pack loo roll). I might spend another £1.90 on the bus after Pilates, or I might walk.

Sounds like a lovely day, NorthSmile.
