Good luck Em hope it goes well and painlessly.
Need hope Fil is ok
Welcome Hippo
Wow Italian, that was worth going to.
My neighbour came round last night with a wonderful pumpkin and some apples from his garden, and then another neighbour came this morning with a carrier bag of cooking apples. Another friend gave me 4 mini aubergines. All were from their gardens. Good job I got new freezer.
Spends £2.40 for 12 eggs from egg man and £1 for cup of tea.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/09/2016 23:56

Hope it goes well em.
Nice haul from the baby shop Italian and on your work being good. I loves a freebie.
Hello newbies.
Defo the best underlay you can afford on flooring. Ours is 10 years old from b&q and we went mid range but can be a bit chilly in winter so should have got better underlay.

£40 at wedding on pricey drinks and a snack on arrival.
Fil is being closely monitored and is not doing so bad. We will see what the next few days bring.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/09/2016 23:57

Also £40 fuel and £68 sainsburys

Still haven't planned September, will do that this weekend

WreckTangled · 02/09/2016 07:04

Good luck today em FlowersChocolate

Italian I meant to say all that stuff you got sounds brilliant!

Not sure what to do today.

WreckCat has just brought us his first bird Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/09/2016 07:06

Its a sign of love. I hope you said thank you.

It's not easy catching birds when your massive, fluffy and have lots of white fur.

WreckTangled · 02/09/2016 07:12

We're pleased that he loves us so much Smile it was a blue tit. I'm quite impressed! Dh sent him outside with it though.

WreckTangled · 02/09/2016 07:33

Mil had gifted us the national trust membership Smile I have the best mil.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/09/2016 07:36

Grin fluffy, my cats are too lazy to catch anything these days although girl cat did catch dds hamster the other day Shock Blush it was fine though think she just wanted to be friends Hmm Wink

Off to work for me, got a patients funeral this afternoon Sad

lilacclery · 02/09/2016 08:01

Thanks to you guys my 0% transfer credit card bill came in I've double the payment ready & hope to have triple next month.
There was an extra discount on iclothing last night 25% off sale items & €1 delivery & I didn't partake because of you guys & ynab.
Still haven't caught up Angry

Sierra259 · 02/09/2016 08:32

Welcome hungry!

SierraCat is too lazy to catch much either fortunately! We've had the odd mouse, but never a bird thankfully. She tends to favour those massive moths that she'll bring it and then let go to fly around the house while she tears after them Hmm

Ememem84 · 02/09/2016 09:13

My mums cat used to catch birds. She'd keep them in her mouth and then run into the house and meow at us. Bird would fly out and go nuts around the living room/kitchen. Always when mum had people round....

Love that crazy stupid cat. who is no longer with us

northender · 02/09/2016 09:32

Good luck today Em

Not a cat fan I'm afraid, apparently the diversity of small birds in residential areas with high cat ownership is much lower and also our garden frequently gets used as a cat toilet. Mini rant over!!

Dd loved her riding lesson yesterday and has her next one booked in for Tuesday. I think she will want to carry on when the 6 lessons are done so we need to come to an agreement as to how much we can fund, how often she could do it and how much she has to contribute.

Today I'm going to the funeral of my friend's dad. He was elderly and had been ill for some time. Then I'll be waiting for my new sewing machine to be delivered.....yay!

Dd went off to high school looking very smart. Sent £10 with her for a locker deposit.
Dh has gone off to cricket with ds & 3 of his friends (about £80 for train, bus and match tickets). We'll have a birthday tea when they get back, can't believe he's 15 already.

Ememem84 · 02/09/2016 09:37

Thanks guys. I'm heading off now. Had a call at early o clock from hospital asking if I can go in earlier as they'd had 2 cancellations at last minute. Result! Means I won't spend hours worrying/stressing. Smile a quick in and out that's what she said

So far this morning have had a cup of tea and some toast. Done a load of washing and have written an email to environmental health about upstairs neighbours insistence on using washing machine after 10pm (not allowed per the rules of our building). Her kitchen is above my bedroom. I've mentioned it to her landlord and the landlords property manager and our building manager. But it continues. So I've taken it that step further. Dh thinks I've taken it too far....I've asked for advice. Not for them to necessarily go in all guns.

SnugglySnerd · 02/09/2016 09:38

Snugglycat dreams of being able to catch a bird. His tactic is to run down the garden meowing at the top of his voice then looking confused when they fly away. He has caught moths and spiders in the house though.
DH has taken DD shopping for my birthday present and left me in charge of researching flooring, fridge freezers, tvs and electricians. I'll start in a minute...

AGenie · 02/09/2016 09:50

Good luck Em.

My chicken-related bug has not yet got to the point where I can start counting 48 hours from the end of symptoms, and it's been 6 days. Getting a bit cheesed off tbh. Ds and Dh have gone to a national trust place without me. Magic wand anyone?

Mummyshortlegz · 02/09/2016 09:54

Maybe it's bacterial? Does your gp allow you to drop off a poo sample to be checked? Ours we can just collect a pot and fill in a slip and they'll cal you.

Em - thinking of you. Flowers

Colliefeatures · 02/09/2016 10:15

Colliecat catches moths & fallen leaves on the lawn. She's an idiot!

Good luck Em!

Tis a boring wet day here. Enjoying the breeze though. Should be another NSD though.

SnugglySnerd · 02/09/2016 10:19

Still mnetting, should really get off the sofa and do something.
Agenie probably worth phoning your gp for advice.
Good luck today, Em.

Cagliostro · 02/09/2016 10:40

Didn't get on the thread yesterday so I'm really behind!

Fab frugal day yesterday - friend came over with her DS for his piano lesson, so earned a bit, then they stayed and we played board games and chatted all afternoon :) really nice and chilled.

I have written to a couple of companies about missing pieces from toys/games, so that could be a frugal win if they send them.

I could use some advice though - DS opened his new Transformer on his birthday the other day, and it broke within an hour! This is not normal - he has LOADS and he's always careful with them. Problem is we bought it several months ago, and don't have the receipt so I don't think we could return it, as of course it's the kind of toy you can buy anywhere. So I was wondering about emailing Hasbro. Is it worth it? And if so what do I say?!

Cagliostro · 02/09/2016 10:44

Haven't read posts yet but just seen you mention smear thingy Em - I had to have diazepam on my last one as I was so scared of it! But I'm trying to do it without, next week (I am way overdue for it).

I was told by the lovely nurse last time to wiggle my hips a lot before lying down as it gets your cervix into the right place :o Blush

AGenie · 02/09/2016 10:45

Thanks, yes I've made a telephone appointment.

Worth an email I would think, Cag.

Frugal win! The seller of that bra I ordered messaged me saying it wasn't available, I found it from another seller. But the original seller is sending the same one in a different colour, which happens to be the other colour I wanted but would've cost about £10 more! Without charging me extra! :)
