What you need is a big fuck off ceiling fan over the bed in this weather, ours is nearly 5ft across but you never get a night you can't sleep.

Tropix em?

Yesterday was £12 Burger King, should've loaded their app to save money.
£15 ikea, swiped my family card so I got two £5 vouchers. Got cork mats and coasters plus a blue bag for free, then I bought a table & frame for work for £14.90.

Free cake and tea in JL Milton Keynes, £2.50 parking & used my last pizza express codes for tea. Dh paid the £6 balance.

Today was £25 oil but 19 of that is dn so they I'll pay me back, £9 on emery boards and £6 cuticle eraser.

Tryingtosaveup · 19/07/2016 19:17

I am now jealous of Wreck's dinner and Em's nails.
DP has just gone to get a tub of ice cream for dinner and he got the last one. Good job DP.
Ipso, my soil is such tough clay that I swear you could mould it into clay pots. But apparently the Romans tried it and failed. I have dug in sharp sand, compost and some of the top soil from Freecycle. Not today though.

Sierra259 · 19/07/2016 19:20

Phew, melting here too. Especially with DC2 breastfeeding Confused. Buggy wheels all sorted and £7 on new changing mat. Was very jealous of DC1 getting a swimming lesson today, so we've had the paddling pool and hose out in the garden all afternoon. Salad for tea later!

babsmam · 19/07/2016 20:28

£28 in morrisons, £8 primark.
Had to deal with a couple of faintings today at work in the heat

ipsogenix · 19/07/2016 21:27

That's impressive soil Trying. Good idea to keep at it. I have weirdly perfect gardening conditions, but it's strangely challenging to deal with it. Everything that I plant becomes invasive and hayfever is rife here. I'm gradually coming to realise that I should be farming compost and that I just have to hack down a wheelie bin-sized pile of green stuff every week and that will leave the garden presentable. It's a very different kind of gardening. Sort of like Sleeping Beauty's garden after she nodded off. Smile

That's a record Babs. I've never seen anyone faint in the heat.

Fluffy I love your ceiling fan idea. We have the fan out today too.

We're really looking forward to some thunder and lightning. Ds has never quite managed to see the flash of the lightning and is very excited about it.

babsmam · 20/07/2016 06:23

I love thunder storms.
Yes my first aid course came into its own yesterday.

SnugglySnerd · 20/07/2016 07:31

DD did not sleep well last night. Apart from the heat every motorcyclist in a 10 mile radius seemed to drive past our house in the dead of night. Probably they always do but we don't usually have all the windows open!
Need a few things from Sainsbury's today and going to get the Pizza Express voucher from the Nectar points for end of term treat on Friday.

WreckTangled · 20/07/2016 07:34

Lsd today. Need peas and bread.

WreckTangled · 20/07/2016 07:34

Oh and petrol Hmm

Ememem84 · 20/07/2016 07:43

Have to pop to the post office today. It's gone back to grey here. So presumably yesterday was summer. At least there'll be no moaning today because it's too hot...

CremeEggThief · 20/07/2016 07:43

Hi all. My Internet connection is playing up here in Crete, so not posting much.

I think some parts of the UK were hotter than here yesterday. 33° was our highest temperature! Smile

Sierra259 · 20/07/2016 09:04

Bit more breezy here today so more pleasant. Upstairs is still like a furnace! Just sent off a grumpy DH to do the nursery drop off with DC1. He does it as it's on his way to work but cannot seem to grasp that he can't faff about for fucking ages doing whatever like he normally does, and then just expect her to cooperate with his timetable. I keep telling him to allow at least an extra 20 minutes for last minute toilet trips, shoe refusal etc and yet he's still late and therefore grumpy with her every time Hmm

WreckTangled · 20/07/2016 09:19

Hope you're having fun creme!

Sierra that is frustrating! Dh does annoying this too which make his life more difficult. Eg saying to ds (when Ds hasn't said a word) that he can't have his favourite green spoon with his yoghurt as its in the dishwasher. I said just give him another spoon and don't mention it, he probably wouldn't even notice?! Hmm

£10 petrol
£3.69 on peas and bread.

Second load of washing on just about to hang out the first. I love Wednesdays.

WreckTangled · 20/07/2016 09:31

Oh ffs. My washing line won't go up!

babsmam · 20/07/2016 09:43

been signed off work for 2 weeks. nit sure how i feel atm. i guess it gives me time to do all the frugal jobs i've not had time for recently.

SnugglySnerd · 20/07/2016 09:58

Flowers Babs, hope you feel better soon.
We've been playing with water in the garden all morning. Thought it was better to be outside first thing then keep DD in when it gets really hot. It is boiling already! Looking forward to lovely air conditioned supermarket later.

WreckTangled · 20/07/2016 11:01

Fluffy has your shepherds friendly cashback confirmed yet?

Babs I can't remember what you do for work? Take the time to try and do things you enjoy Smile

babsmam · 20/07/2016 11:10

I'm in the public sector wreck.
its been thundering here but it still boiling in between showers and storms.
I'm going to go and name change in a bit if i can think of a new NN.

babsmam · 20/07/2016 11:22

bah can't think of a new NN

Sierra259 · 20/07/2016 11:40

Hope you feel better soon babs Flowers

CremeEggThief · 20/07/2016 11:46

Babs, take care. Forget about the jobs and rest for now.X

Cagliostro · 20/07/2016 12:06

Hugs, Babs Thanks hope these two weeks will help, and that your employers are being supportive.

I've kicked the DCs outside as it's not very sunny Snuggly - DD especially struggles in the heat (headaches) so better to get her fresh air now. DS went reluctantly, still in his jammies. Hmm :o

We've done a bit of home ed stuff, NSD for me and the DCs I reckon (but need to figure out what to do for dinner so I don't succumb to going out/takeaway). Expensive day for DH as he's going to DSS' graduation :) Star

Hot and sunny here but with a lovely BREEZE!

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/07/2016 13:57

new NN

just spent £9 in morrisons, £6 in the butchers and same in the co-op.
Charcoal brickettes are 75p in morrisons - £3.50 in the co-op ,the woman was most offended when i told her.

ipsogenix · 20/07/2016 13:57

Still hot here too wreck. We had a bit of cloud and some possibility of a storm, but we're back to hot again. It's only today though, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
