Oops Ipso, that's really annoying. I'm going through a phase of burning things onto pans e.g. last week when I thought the gas was off but it was just turned down really low and the bottom half of our dinner was unsalvageable! Plus it took about 4 days of soaking and scrubbing to get the pan clean.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2016 14:35

£39 hair cut
£5 tip
£10 retin a cream.

Cag you know you have to complain about that train fare.

What Email the CEO of wilkos. That's bad service.

northender · 07/06/2016 15:05

That's so frustrating creme, hope you get the £25 refunded at the very least.
ipso you must have been really proud of your ds
My week off is going well so far, 2 indulgences today, lunch out with my mum and dd £18. 3 pieces of fabric for quilting £7.
Dd & I are going down to Staffordshire tonight to stay with friends who have a smallholding on the edge of a lovely moorland village. We're going to camp as that's what dd wants to do and cook tomorrow's breakfast & tea on the camping stove: simple pleasures!

northender · 07/06/2016 15:11

Forgot to say, another thing we have been doing is painting some of dd's bedroom furniture (90s pine) with chalk paint & then wax. It looks fab but the white is more of a magnolia due I think to the oils from the wood coming through a bit. The furniture is stuff we had made pre kids in the late 90s & is great quality so I'm glad to see it get a new lease of life. It's the first time I've tried chalk paint & I'm quite impressed. The furniture in our bedroom will be next.....

WreckTangled · 07/06/2016 15:38

We've been accepted for the HSBC account so I will get that switched soon. Will give us access to a 6% saver I think.

Nsd. It's so muggy here.

PurpleRibbons · 07/06/2016 16:37

I have tried on all my Asda clothes and only 2 items fit so I will be returning the rest for a refund. Pleased actually, I can't afford them.

CremeEggThief · 07/06/2016 16:42

Good work, Purple.
Spends: £1.95 tub ice cream, £2 cheese, 55p yogurt and 39p ibuprofen. I joined the ranks of the sunburned Frugaleers yesterday. Thankfully, it's only my arms, but they really, really ache. We did a lot of arm work with thermo bands in Pilates yesterday, but I've googled and apparently muscular aches and cramps are a symptom of sun burn too, so it's probably a bit of both.

WreckTangled · 07/06/2016 17:28

My veggie korma was delicious.

Someone at work said to me that I've lost weight today (I haven't really but have slimmed down) Smile

Ememem84 · 07/06/2016 18:48

£33 at waitrose. But I got heaps. 2 pizzas (one for dinner one for freezer). Pea and mint empanadas and falafals. Gnocchi. Salad. Seeds. Sour cherries and dark chocolate.

Most of that was on special offer or reduced. Yippee.

I've been really off my food recently so am excited to really want to eat something. The empanadas are because of this. They looked yum. So have boxed some up with a fresh yum salad to take to work tomorrow.

Walked from work to waitrose then walked home. 4.5km. Had a great sleep last night so am more "on it" today.

Also bought myself some flowers Flowers only carnations (and again reduced ones) but in all the colours. Pink yellow white and purple! Yippee.

Stupidly I've challenged my boss to a "step challenge" again. I'm 25,000 steps behind and were only on day 7... Most steps in June wins. I may have to give my Fitbit to Dh while he goes for a run. And I'll use the stepper on my phone and walk around the house....

Whataboutwhathuh · 07/06/2016 20:33

£2.40 on the park and ride to the hospital. Ds1 adored going on the bus. I managed to get him and ds2 on the bus and off the bus and across the road etc with one in the buggy and one holding my hand. £48 on diesel. Should last me two weeks.

Ds1 is going back to being dairy free so that's going to put my shopping up a little. He is very small for his age (12kg at 3 and a bit) so I've got to feed him a lot more dairy free cheeses and milks to try and up his weight.

Ememem84 · 07/06/2016 21:46

Nice evening. Had dinner then went for a walk by the sea. Stopped off in pub for a drink. Bumped into friends so had a chat with them. One glass of wine. Now bedtime!

I've run out of Deodourant. Well normal sized anyway. I have a travel one but it's in my gym bag at work will have to use Dhs tomorrow. Sigh.

Cagliostro · 08/06/2016 01:10

I wanna go for walks by the sea Envy fuck it shall we just move to Jersey? :o

Quiet day today as not feeling so good, but we had our home ed 'inspection' in the afternoon and that went really well I think. DD chatted away and told her all about what we've been doing. Played lots of board games throughout the day including some of the new ones we got at the show.

Knackered now! But ran out of pills. Fail. Need to sort that out tomorrow, may attempt a trip to town if I can, and I can reload my bus pass too. And we need new bulbs for the bathroom.

Can't sleep so I'm pondering how to spend the gift voucher I was given by my colleagues... it can be used on Amazon so could be anything really! :o

WreckTangled · 08/06/2016 06:46

Today is the day. I'm going spinning. Shock need petrol and a big bottle of water class is paid for. I even have a new school mum friend coming with me Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 08/06/2016 07:33

I don't know if moving to Jersey is very frugal, Cag. It's a bit pricey. Grin

I need to sort out a swimming membership at some point. Have been twice this week which cost £10. A monthly membership would only be £18 a month, but I'd have to sign up for 12 months.

I may buy an activity tracker today too. Most of that will be covered by money I got for my birthday though.

Ememem84 · 08/06/2016 07:51

Should be nsd today. I'm going for a walk at lunchtime and have lunch to take with me. Walking to and from work so no parking. Grin

needastrongone · 08/06/2016 08:47

Happy spinning wrecked.

NSD yesterday.

Day off today, collecting DS from school after another GCSE (he has 9 this week!!), need petrol. Then a local furniture store is having a preview sale, and I'm going to have a look round there. Might invest, as there's a couple of bits of furniture that we want for the house, but only if they are the right thing.

£6 also will be spent for DD training.

needastrongone · 08/06/2016 08:53

Does anyone know the best way to book a hire car for use abroad, from the UK? Looking to book for 2 weeks for when we go to Florida in July.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/06/2016 09:10

www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-car-hire
www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/travel/2015/04/warning-you-need-a-dvla-code-to-hire-a-car-in-uk-or-abroad

Try these. 9 exams in a week is a lot.

Letter came off Halifax, my admin fee is being refunded as a gesture of goodwill. Which is good because I need that money.

needastrongone · 08/06/2016 09:13

Thanks Fluffy.

Yep, a tough week for DS this week, he's had 5 already, 2 Monday and 3 yesterday. Yesterdays were all essay type exams too.

Good news re Halifax.

Have you finished your home improvement regime?

The house 2 doors away from us has already sold. Within a week apparently. I think too cheaply personally.

PurpleRibbons · 08/06/2016 09:27

Oops! Went on iTunes last night to buy a song and between us DH and I spent about £30 on music. I am enjoying blasting it out and dancing through housework this morning though!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/06/2016 11:23

Hello I am back Grin

Had a lovely time, just tried to post a long ish message and it wouldn't work!

£30 refund from wickes of our delivery fee, makes me glad they mucked up.

Father's Day present to buy for dad and husband today. I'm going to be tight.

WreckTangled · 08/06/2016 11:59

Welcome back girlie!

Spinning was so fun.

PurpleRibbons · 08/06/2016 12:15

Welcome back girlie, pleased you had a lovely holiday. Is it Operation House Move now?
Was spinning difficult wreck? I think I would enjoy it but I am very unfit.
Just bought a potty training book and sticker chart for DD on Amazon. Think we're going to give it a go soon. Eek!

WreckTangled · 08/06/2016 12:27

It was fine but I didn't keep up the resistance as high as the instructor. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
