What shades, Fluffy?

Good haul, Wreck.

NSD.

EvaDelectorskaya · 04/06/2016 18:50

Spendy day as predicted
€72 in hairdresser
€130 on equipment for DS
€140 on sun loungers for garden
€24 on lunch.

I'm really pleased with the sun loungers though, they give really good back and neck support. I spent Monday and Tuesday afternoons sitting on the back door step and I had terrible neck pain on Wednesday (I have ongoing neck problems), so I think these are a good investment.

PurpleRibbons · 04/06/2016 19:10

He did well wreck!
DH is going out tonight so I'm trying to think what to do with myself. Not much on tv and my book isn't especially good!

CremeEggThief · 04/06/2016 19:23

There's a new French drama on BBC 4 at 9, about a teenager who goes missing, Purple. It started last week and I really liked it.

PurpleRibbons · 04/06/2016 19:51

That sounds good, do I need to have seen last week's? Have just discovered DH has eaten the last bit of chocolate. I can't go out for more as DD is in bed. He is in a world of pain tomorrow!!!

SpaceKablooie · 04/06/2016 19:59

Hi everyone, just checking in as this thread had fallen off my Threads I'm on list Smile.

We've been away on holiday, so it's been reasonably spendy but fab.

CremeEggThief · 04/06/2016 20:18

Do catch up if you can on iPlayer first, Purple, but the gist of it is a 17 year old girl disappears at a festival in the park of her home town, on her birthday, and sInce she's been missing, her parents discover she had a secret life they didn't know about, despite seeming to be a very close family. A lot of the characters seem to be hiding information from the others too. It ended last week with a missed call from the girl to her dad in the middle of the night, about 4 days after she went missing.

Hope you had a lovely holiday, Space.

babsmam · 04/06/2016 20:24

Spend, spend, spend, spend, spend, spend today.
£122 sainsburys, £19 each marks and sports direct, £7 each skatepark and MacDonald.
Took some stuff back to asda £45, £4 refund at sainsburys,

PurpleRibbons · 04/06/2016 20:48

creme that sounds like the sort of thing DH and I would both enjoy so I'm going to wait and watch it with him. I am feeling surprisingly benevolent towards him after the chocolate eating!

ipsogenix · 04/06/2016 20:59

Is your ds better now East. The GP told me that I ought to take ds in if he had a temperature that didn't go down below 38 degrees with calpol. The only time we've ever had that it turned out to be scarlet fever. Might be worth a trip if the fever is not coming down.

Things are quiet here. The rain has stopped but it has been nice and cool which is great for the many park trips of the holiday week.

I presented my electronics project (now shared with dh) at a science meeting today, which was great fun. While I was fiddling with getting the laptop hooked up to the projector, ds managed to get up front and give a talk about his mindstorms robot too, which they took very well. He even ran a programme on it to make it wave. .

Tomorrow we'll be back to running in the park though, as ds has a lot of pent up running now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/06/2016 21:21

creme

A dark lilac, a pale lilac and a beige.

Hate all of them. £13 wasted. They look so different on the walls to the paint chart.

ipsos I bet they found him adorable. He's a proper mini boffin now he's done his first presentation.

Tryingtosaveup · 04/06/2016 21:31

That was a great lot of books for £1 Wreck
Needs and Purple, how do you manage to grow carrots? Mine always get carrot fly or they fork badly or both? I have given up trying to grow carrots but I love them. Advice please!

Tryingtosaveup · 04/06/2016 21:34

Ipsos that was very brave of your DS. You must be very proud of him, and rightly so. How old is he if you don't mind me asking?
Needs, Purple anyone else...any hints on making decent compost?

PurpleRibbons · 04/06/2016 21:37

Trying I grow them in those deep bags you can buy for growing potatoes. I've read that oniony things deter carrot fly so I've planted chives and spring onions in with them.
I've given up on my compost heap since I found millions of slug eggs in it but I feel very guilty throwing out vegetable peelings!

AuditAngel · 04/06/2016 21:52

Hi all. DS and DD1 had a private ski lesson today €88, I thought that was reasonable for an hour. They can now both do Juno turns and stop accurately (as opposed to falling over to stop 😂😳)

Went to get some ingredients for dinner, but shop had shut 😡. Had a beer each, plus a clown ice cream for DD2 €10.10; booked a table for tomorrow night for final dinner. €8.50 on take away chips to replace planned ingredients, €1 for DD2 to have a ride while waiting for the chips. Instead of the planned tomato sauce with pork loin and rice, we had fried park loin, chips, left over pasta, corn on the cob, fried onions and gravy. Weird combination, but all lovely.

CremeEggThief · 04/06/2016 22:11

Oh that's a pain, Fluffy. I had the same problem when I was choosing a colour for my kitchen. It took months to find the right colour.

Wow, that's brilliant, Ipso. You must be so proud. Such a confident, clever little boy.

Audit, enjoy your last day on holiday.

apivita · 04/06/2016 22:20

Hey everyone sorry again awol.

Not sure when the last time I updated. But spent £20 at a service station Burger King. £45 at Sainsburys on Wednesday (friend paid for lunch £30). £31 at Morrisons today. £18.40 for 4 tickets to watch angry birds. £5 on popcorn and drinks for kids. 60p parking - cheapest ever. We will return! Although the other cheap cinema we go to has free on road parking and cheaper tickets!!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Tryingtosaveup · 04/06/2016 22:45

Thanks for that Purple, I will def get some of those bags because I love carrots and I will put some onions in with them. I'll probably get two and put spuds in the other because my veggie beds aren't ready properly yet. Is it too late to put potatoes in??

WreckTangled · 05/06/2016 07:08

I went to bed at 7:30 last night Grin

Today is going to be hot. Have lots of washing to do and the food shopping is being delivered.

babsmam · 05/06/2016 08:56

I want to be back in the lakes. Miserable east Sad

babsmam · 05/06/2016 08:56

As in East of the country not as in East the mner. Sorry east

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 05/06/2016 12:26

I seem to have fallen off the last few threads. Need to get back on the frugalleering wagon. Last month was a bit spendy and ended up spending more than I had coming in.

Spent the morning, reconciling YNAB with my bank account, so now have this month's budget sorted. Have lost about £10 a week in tax credits with my renewal but have managed to get extra hours at work from this month, which was what I was looking for.

PurpleRibbons · 05/06/2016 12:37

I don't think so trying, I hope not anyway as I was planning to plant some more today! I try to plant a few at a time a few weeks apart so that we end up with a steady supply all summer instead of tonnes in one go. The gardening section on mn is brilliant and people are far, far more knowledgeable than me, I'm a total novice!

Ememem84 · 05/06/2016 12:51

planning on spending today trying to get my accounts back into some sort of order.

Checked cc before and Italian hotel has been charged. Aaaah!! It was expected. But not until August! Must have booked the wrong option. Rubbish.

Friend has asked for money for ascot afternoon tea. Again expected but I thought ascot was after payday. Not immediately before. Aaaah!

WreckTangled · 05/06/2016 13:20

£67.70 food delivery.

So hot here have had to come in for a bit Shock
