Yesterday's spends:

€10 on fish
€2 on food at work.

CremeEggThief · 03/06/2016 15:47

Hey everyone, you'd dropped off my TIO.
Yesterday was very spendy, but worth it, as I got DS out for the day Smile. We went to one of our favourite towns, Hexham in Northumberland, where we had a lovely lunch, mooch around the shops (where I finally found the perfect cushions) and best of all, a snooze in the sunshine in the park. Smile We had an Indian meal on our way home, as we'd just missed our bus and had an hour to wait. I have to say I far prefer the food at our local takeaway, but never mind. Total spend for yesterday: £103.99, most of which was on card. But it was our only day out this week and our first evening meal out since Easter, so worth it.

Today's spends: £8.11 (milk, bread, 6 pack of crisps, biscuits, eggs and 2 cans of Lilt), 75 pence postage and £4 new window cleaners. Total: £12.86.

northender · 03/06/2016 16:31

creme your day out sounds lovely, I love Northumberland.
babsmam we have an offset mortgage too for the same reason, you have access to the money but it saves interest in the same way that overpaying does. We have additional borrowing which we do overpay as we took it out on a 10 year fix just before rates plummeted so the overpayments are saving us a fortune.
Had a lovely beach day at St Annes yesterday, even slightly grumpy teen ds was happy. Haven't been there for a good while but it was great, sandy beach, dunes, a pier with lots of 2p amusements, fish & chips and ice cream, perfect. £30 spent.
Dh is in Coventry tonight for his second Springsteen concert of the tour! He went down last night with a friend to queue to get in at the front, mad fool! He's fanatical where Bruce is concerned and I knew that when I met him so can't complain really. Parking all day today is £25 or free if you spend £25 at one of the shops at the linked retail park so I gave him a non perishables list for Tesco!! I've got a day of gardening lined up for him tomorrow to make up for his absence Wink
Have had a home day with dd today & a late lunch in the sunny garden. Trying to make as much use as possible of the garden furniture we got last year, it's been a lovely week and the weekend looks okay too. Sorry for those in the East not having it so good but it is usually the other way round.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 03/06/2016 17:06

Have a poorly ds2 Hugh temp sore throat chesty cough started Tue getting progressively worse just collected early from nursery so will see how we go. Temp 39.1 at 2pm nursery gave calpol and 39.2 at 3.15 so collected asleep next to me on my bed at no. Luckily was off today with ds1 as school hols.

In case anyone doesn't know sun is open farm Sunday lots events inc some farms opening free that do nt normally ppem to public one we go to used to be free then £1 per car now £3 per car and iis OK but may try another thats free.

Ds1 and I met dh for lunch at Bella Italia by splitting the bill so dh had a main ds1 got free kids meal he had the big one rather than small as was free and has pizza for dinner tonight ss brought left over home then I had a flatbtread off lunch menu but you couldn't use a voucher and order from lunch menu on same bill they were fine about splitting it. So £16.50 for lunch - we actually love Bella kids meals the small is 5.25 for 3 courses and a drink or 7.50 for large version.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 03/06/2016 17:09

Northender surely no one actually pays the £25 but goes and spends it in a shop that's a no brained but guess there are some who don't care. I know a family I worked for yrs ago always parks in overprice short stay at airports and pays the hundreds pounds when she gets home the mind boggles takes 2 clicks after booking your hold to book parking even valet parking.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/06/2016 19:01

Creme that sounds totally worth it.

£3.85 in homebargains. Tomatoes, a shower cap to wear while I'm sanding the dry wall, astonish steel cleaner and masking tape.

Halifax emailed me back for further details. If I don't get what I want I'm going to the ombudsman. Fuck them.

babsmam · 03/06/2016 19:12

Just a point about over paying mortgage check your t&c that there isn't a cap on how much you can over pay before they say no more or charges are incurred

PurpleRibbons · 03/06/2016 21:04

Hope he's better soon eastmids.
Just £1.50 today on a packet of biscuits.

Ememem84 · 03/06/2016 21:22

Finally back from London. I love London. But what a long day!!

Met nice clients and had a great lunch. Tried port for the first time. got a bit squiffy

Sleepy now though!

northender · 04/06/2016 00:35

eastmid I just made sure dh bought things that we'd buy anyway. I think, even if we had more money, I'd do it as I can't bear to waste money

WreckTangled · 04/06/2016 06:26

Creme what a lovely day, definitely worth it!

East how is ds2 today? That's a nasty temperature

I had way too much wine last night I was very drunk. Pretty sure we spent £50 but won £70. Whole night was free. This was my dessert...

Today should be food shopping day but will see how I feel. Currently still drunk I think Grin

babsmam · 04/06/2016 07:10

Hope ds is feeling better east.
Sounds like a lovely, well needed day crème.
Wreck yum.
Need to cobble together a food plan today. Will have kids in tow so will be spendy

Ursulatodd · 04/06/2016 07:57

Morning! We had a lovely day out in the sun yesterday. We did take a picnic but spent on drinks and ice-creams.
Also our building work finished - £1000Shock!! However, having somewhere to store toys and the Hoover = priceless! Just the finishing touches now to the work started at Christmas - cushions and pictures!
We have family visiting this weekend so more days out planned. Will have to put project overpay mortgage on hold until I have some spare time!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 04/06/2016 08:35

Thanks for asking wreck asleep at moment after going to bed at 6pm didn't even bf which he always does woke at 8.30 had calpol n his feed and then woke at 11 and was in my bed all night, dh took him at 5.30 and then he has gone back to sleep at 8, certainly fighting off something nasty poor little bugger in past 3weeks has had an ear infection, then what nursery thought were chicken pox wasn't more likely viral and now this.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 04/06/2016 08:39

Northender me too hate wasting money why pay more than you need too I am known amongst friends and colleagues as but of a bargain queen I converted dh v early on in our dating days!! (Been together 18yrs married 10yrs this Oct)

I even got freebies for our wedding (mini whisky bottles, mini ester lauder perfumes and green &blacks chocs all used as favours!!) And did lots haggling to get best deals.

EvaDelectorskaya · 04/06/2016 09:43

Yesterday's spends
€10 collecting a top from a dressmaker for a friend, she will reimburse me.
€18 in butchers but most of that was for DM to thank her for childcare.
€22 in Dorothy Perkins on a dress and a top, good discounts though.

At hairdresser this morning for cut and colour so that will be spendy.

EvaDelectorskaya · 04/06/2016 09:45

Eastmids - did you get a reasonable amount of sleep yourself or are you exhausted? Hope DS feels better soon.

Ememem84 · 04/06/2016 11:24

Hello.

£25 today on riding lesson. Yesterday's spends were £22 on a return train ticket to gatwick. Everything else was covered by work.

So annoyed yesterday. My contactless card didn't work on the ticket barrier at gatwick train station. Boss had beeped through and I had to queue for a ticket. Sad

Also didn't have my oyster with me. Angry so could have saved us time.

Nice day yesterday though. Walked loads. Managed to meet clients and get a lot of things sorted out. Nice lunch. Wandered past the palace and took some pics with the rest of the tourists!

And ended the day with a glass of bubbly at the airport! (Boss has silver membership to the lounge so I was allowed to be his guest) I'm only a mere pleb with a bronze BA membership.

WreckTangled · 04/06/2016 11:55

Right tome to get dressed, do the shred, shower and eat. Then off to the fete for an hour before we have to go and pick dh's van up from our friends and do some food shopping.

PurpleRibbons · 04/06/2016 12:52

Oops, spent £71 in Sainsbury's. Bought some new bed linen in the end plus a top up shop and a bottle of wine.
I'd hoped to buy some sandals but there doesn't appear to be a single pair in Britain that would be comfortable for my odd feet/bad knees combo!!!

AuditAngel · 04/06/2016 12:57

Hello all. Despite the dreadful rain earlier in the week we didn't flood. On the worst day there were some amazing puddles, but our path was clear. Yesterday €160 on a family ski pass. DD2, DH and I skied for about 4 hours. DD1 and DS for 5. Definitely worth the money. Booked a private lesson for today for DS and DD1.

Spent about €20 in the shop on various bits, including paracetamol for DD2.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 04/06/2016 16:08

Eva - knackered but spent last 18mths in various stages of knackeredness!!! Night nanny work and prev shift work does mean I cope better than others might I guess. Keeping busy is the key after little sleep.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/06/2016 16:58

£8.75 on paint taster pots Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/06/2016 16:59

WreckTangled · 04/06/2016 17:15

Nsd from me. Dh spent £6 at the fete. Got all these books for £1.
