I think I live in the charity shop capital of Britain, there are about 10 on our local high street, some better than others. Sometimes I drive to a posh area just to rummage in the charity shop!!

lilacclery · 01/06/2016 18:08

19 deg here at 6pm em hoping it'll continue for my holiday

A very unfrugal €2.20 on a takeaway sandwich because I'm starving and won't be home until 8pm, I slept through alarm today so food was sparse as I concentrated most on dds lunch I had egg & black pudding on soda bread for breakfast, tuna & sweetcorn in pitta for lunch & a tin of pears for snacks, sandwiches normally around €4 here though so this was good I guess

Sausage dish sounds good to me wreck

babsmam · 01/06/2016 18:13

No lilac he just acts it sometimes.
Nice skirt em. Just go and do the cultural shit and leave then to it. Win win.

It's not frugal but does anyone know what's a good coffee subscription company. Looking at father's day epic birthday fail for dh
Nsd so far but of to sainsburys in a bit

babsmam · 01/06/2016 18:16

We have loads of charity shop but the haul is never as good as that.
In none frugal news my vacuum cleaner is bust. Either £90 or £199 to replace. Bastard
Wasn't need away for half term? I forget who else was

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/06/2016 18:18

You could get a Miele vacuum for that much.

Ememem84 · 01/06/2016 18:23

Planning on leaving them behind and getting my culture on!! Apparently there are about a million museums and galleries in Florence. And a thousand coffee shops and restaurants. Yum.

needastrongone · 01/06/2016 18:25

I'm still here! I'm trying to read each day, sort of (!), but I'm totally chasing my tail and not getting to post. A combination of extra working hours, DS going through his GCSE's, it being half term and and competition season being in full swing.

Babs, that's a good idea re the coffee subscription. I don't know of any, but will be interested in the suggestions.

Spending is fine, and in control. I did buy two maxi dresses from Next but they are going back.

Competed at Burghley House at the weekend, stunning place, we were honoured to be asked to ride there. DH had given me some money to buy stuff, but there was nothing there I liked so I bought him a bottle of expensive whiskey for his birthday.

Today, £2 on two coffees at a Pony Club rally.

babsmam · 01/06/2016 18:29

That's good your still here in the back ground need

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/06/2016 18:30

I bet the coffee in Italy is amazing. I hated coffee but then I realised I was drinking rubbish coffee so I bought the espresso machine.

How are the exams going?.

needastrongone · 01/06/2016 18:31

Lurking Babs, lurking.. Grin Keeping my beady eye on you all Grin

I am actually knackered tbh.

WreckTangled · 01/06/2016 18:32

I had the sausages lilac!

It's only 14 here and miserable.

Yes babs good idea I don't know of any though.

£3.49 on a chocolate run. It was dh's money though. The children have been complete arses today so I need it. Discovered that the shop in the next village is open until 7pm which is brilliant. Ours closes at 1 on a Wednesday Hmm

WreckTangled · 01/06/2016 18:52

I'm seriously considering going vegetarian.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 01/06/2016 20:04

Freezing here too suppose to warm up at weekend but be warm n wet Saturday. Sun is national open farm day where lots farms that don't open to public do and those that do normally hold events and majority are free entry.

babsmam · 01/06/2016 20:17

Lurking - that's the word that wouldn't come need.
Dh adores Italian coffee, he mithers people who go to bring him some back.
Will research subscriptions and report back. Bet there is a thread somewhere.
£73 sainsburys
What's making you think that wreck?
Oh forgot about farm Sunday.

blueteapot · 01/06/2016 20:44

£3 charity shop on a top for me, jigsaw for DS and shorts for DS.

£4.50 on lunch as I was waiting for DH.

£94 in asda :( mostly on (needed) clothes for the family, a small top up shop and the first of santas purchases as I saw a toy DS wanted reduced to £7 so will be putting it away until Dec.

Dried clothes on the line as it was beautiful weather here today... heating water for a bath now though so its pretty much cancelled out!

PurpleRibbons · 01/06/2016 21:12

That's interesting about the farms east, thank you.

CremeEggThief · 01/06/2016 21:41

Happy to help if you need any tips or advice, Wreck.

Happy birthday to DDOG, Babs. 17 is impressive for a dog!Cake

Need, hi! I am not surprised you haven't been posting much; you sound flat-out! I hope you can squeeze in a day or two of relaxation before it's back to school.

Spends: £9.50 bus fares; £6 lunch, in a lovely, simple old-fashioned café;£10.99 in Wilkos and £3.29 in its café ; £31 Primark; and 0.59 on 2 rubbers in The Works. Tomorrow will be spendy too, as I'm taking DS out. He hasn't been out all week!Shock

Tryingtosaveup · 01/06/2016 23:48

It's still raining here but at least my water butts are nearly full and I won't have to worry about my waterbills for a while, and my veggies like the rain.
Spent £20.11 in Aldi but got 12 litres of milk and lots of otherbstorecupboard stuff.
The milk will freeze.
Have a wonderful time at the convention Cag, and don't forget to tell me about the space centre

WreckTangled · 02/06/2016 07:16

Well I don't eat much meat anyway and I have been thinking a lot about my health recently so mainly that. My poor dad though, he's a game keeper and one of t sisters is vegan, the other vegetarian, we aren't doing him proud Grin thanks creme I'm thinking of doing it slowly rather than making a big song and dance about it.

I've got the dentist this morning, I'm phobic but have to be brave for the dc. Dh is paying for me will be £19.95 then I've got a friend coming round and she's brining lunch so should be nsd.

babsmam · 02/06/2016 07:21

Be brave wreck. ((((Hugs)))

Wolfcub · 02/06/2016 08:08

Just checking in. We've had a very spendy May, need to reign it in in June

lilacclery · 02/06/2016 08:53

This is so us!

The Fantastic Frugalleers Meander into May.....
northender · 02/06/2016 09:11

I've been doing the same as need, reading the thread but just not getting chance to post. Things should ease off now as I've got 12 days off work which I am so ready for. Ds is back to school on Monday but dd has another week off. Dd & I are going to stay with friends for a couple of days but otherwise it will be cheap stuff close to home, walking, cycling, picnics etc.
Today dh is off too so we're heading for the beach & a fish & chip lunch I think. The weekend will be cricket filled as usual but my cousin is having a BBQ on Saturday so that'll make a nice change.
Taking dd to the GP again this morning as she has a rash across her upper chest which no one seems to know what it is. She's had treatment for scabies "just in case" but it's no better and still spreading Sad
Hope everyone is having a good week, luckily weather has been lovely here

Wolfcub · 02/06/2016 09:25

lilac that's spot on

PurpleRibbons · 02/06/2016 09:39

That's brilliant lilac.
Hope DD is ok north.
Hoping for NSD today. Plan is to do some housework/clearing out and deposit some bits at the charity shop.
We need a new duvet set though as I somehow managed to rip a massive hole in ours in my sleep! It seems a waste to chuck it out as the other side is fine. What could I do with it? I am terrible at sewing!!
