I took the liberty as we were nearly at the end of the last one.

Hello all,
Collected my shoes and I still love them so I'm keeping them. I'm going to wear them tomorrow as have important meetings and importantly need to walk a bit which means the 3 inch heels I have will not work! As I need to walk a very important person from one part of work to another (because my admin person is too posh to do it) that'll hopefully work.

£5 at church and 80p at Sainsburys as used £5 nectar points.

I get to vote in the eu even though I'm not from here (because I'm from the commonwealth) and we (dh too - he's English) will be voting in. I think how the eu is at the moment doesn't work very well in many ways but I think we can work together to get things better. I think it would be an utter nightmare for multinationals to have to renegotiate separate terms with the U.K.

I also think that in this current global climate that we live in, the only way forward is through collaborations and working together. It's unsustainable to think that 'we can do it alone' when more and more of us are in collaborations of some sort. And as more and more things that happen around the world actually affect more than just us...

Sorry, please don't take this in a 'lecturing tone' - I can't help it #educatorvoice Blush

Tryingtosaveup · 22/05/2016 20:57

I am also confused by EU debate but my heart says out. Can't see how it would affect our house prices though....apparently they will drop by 18% according to some and go up according to others.
I am really fed up as I have had a really spends unplanned weekend. Took DGCs out with their mum( who is broke) and had to buy snacks, drinks and lunch for all of us because she didn't bother to bring drinks or food. Stupidly I felt obliged to pay. It was nearly £50. I don't know whether I am more annoyed at myself for paying or her for not bothering to plan.
So I have to make that money up somehow.
Cag, please don't be upset with yourself for not planning ahead. Nobody gets it right all of the time, and if they tell you they do t hen they are lying, or bloody perfect ( in which case I don't want to know them).
When you have had your holiday please tell me if you recommend where you stay in Leicester because I think I am going to have to book somewhere to stay with DGD in the summer because it is quite a way from me, further than I thought.

Whataboutwhathuh · 22/05/2016 21:18

We went to the zoo, we have annual passes and took a picnic so I only had to pay £1.69 for a drink for ds1. Ds2 refused his lunch time bottle and are two sandwiches instead Shock Also spent £11.99 on a head thing for a wedding I'm going to www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111893057847 I'm hoping it'll look ok. I have a pixie cut so not hat friendly.

ipsogenix · 22/05/2016 21:24

Thanks so much everyone for enjoying the EU discussion and need I'm so glad to know that you also see the frugaleering implications. Love your dollar card plans. :-) It's a weight off my mind to discuss this all. Will it affect your dh's business and any trade with Europe or is that not an issue?

Lilac I'm glad to hear your views too from the Irish point of view. I'm doubly invested in this as I'm Scottish and I know there is a further possibility of independence following an out vote. I don't see Scotland leaping at getting the Euro though. We may be going to be redrawing the geopolitical maps entirely at this rate though.

Girlie your post makes me want to go on holiday to Paris right now. :-)

Bees Very much agreed. :-)

So sorry to hear about the covenant on the house fluffy. When you were so excited about it too.

I've had a good sort of day. Ds went to play with neighbours almost all day and had a good time, even playing with water pistols. Big success that.
His friends played on his climbing frame quite roughly and it didn't fall apart. I was on tenterhooks the whole time as they are quite gymnastic.

CremeEggThief · 22/05/2016 21:45

Fluffy, would building a cabin or summerhouse be a way around the covenant, as your business wouldn't actually be in the house?

Ememem84 · 22/05/2016 22:38

creme noooo! Was that tonight.?! Dammit. I missed it. Will gave to catch up. Jersey is B. E. A. U. T. I. F. U. L. I'm only just starting to appreciate it. But I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Smile

Dinner at parents. Too much wine. Dh has been made his Nanas fruitcake (we gave dm the recipe ages ago and occasionally she makes one. It's always just at the right time too- when he's sad of stressed. She must know...!)

Bag packed for work tomorrow. Can't Believe another weekend is behind us.

CremeEggThief · 22/05/2016 23:02

It focussed on Jersey potatoes, Em. Will you be able to catch it on iPlayer?

Night all.Smile

Ememem84 · 23/05/2016 06:37

Should be able to creme

Ememem84 · 23/05/2016 06:38

Spends today - £17 on duvet cleaning

And £3 on lunch.

WreckTangled · 23/05/2016 06:54

Off to the IOW at lunch time. We have £400 saved for spends so should be plenty.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/05/2016 07:08

Possibly creme. Gotta be a way round it or it'll be renting a chair in a hair dressers.

Which I'm not averse to.

Anythings better than waiting 3 days to get antibiotics for a patient who clearly has cellulitis & worrying you'll get the blame Sad even then they had to threaten safeguarding.

babsmam · 23/05/2016 07:53

Have a great time wreck.
Fingers crossed fluffy re the covenant.
Need fresh stuff today. I'm sure my dc have hollow legs

Have a lovely time on holiday wreck, report back!

Ememem84 · 23/05/2016 07:58

Account balances are:

Joint ac £1250
My ac £200
About £7 in purse plus change.

Payday was Friday.

I need to start posting balances as I think I've gone a bit frivolous

lilacclery · 23/05/2016 09:03

Whatever helps em a previous poster used to do this & post it per category eg groceries kids misc etc

Enjoy hols wreck

lilacclery · 23/05/2016 09:09

Last night I bought a hoodie on jd sports reduced from 32 to 10 with 6% cash back on my debit card and 6% through cash back Ireland. Interestingly cash back Ireland was only on item cost not delivery charge so will see if debit card is the same. No branch close by so was worth paying delivery charge

I had money in my clothing category in ynab yet I still felt guilty spending

CremeEggThief · 23/05/2016 10:50

Have a super holiday, Wreck. We've had 3 wonderful holidays there.

ipsogenix · 23/05/2016 11:01

I just had a bit of luck. I bought a lego mindstorms set for ds with the last ever Tesco boost and then when I looked back today the price had gone down by £90 Shock. I rang up and they said it was an error and they are refunding the difference. Lovely Tesco. SmileSmileSmile

I'm zonked today. Being very good and sitting in bed whilst not at all rattling through massive list of things that I have to do online

lilacclery · 23/05/2016 11:16

that's a brilliant win ipso

Taytocrisps · 23/05/2016 11:23

Wow, that's a massive saving ipso. Fair play to Tesco for refunding the difference.

Whataboutwhathuh · 23/05/2016 12:16

That was definitely worth a phone call!

My thoughts are turning towards Christmas and the present budget. Our coffers are pretty empty so I need to work out what our spend is likely to be so I can start squirrelling.

Cagliostro · 23/05/2016 12:23

Morning all :)

Sorry I've been completely useless at keeping up with this thread!

Ipsos excellent result! Let us know how the Mindstorms goes. I've heard great things :)

I'm feeling a lot better about it all now. All five train journeys booked (for the final three I remembered to go via TCB for 3.15%). Itinerary pretty much sorted, and realised there's no need to pay for early check in/late check out etc - I'll be sitting out of the museums anyway, so I'll hopefully just find a cafe/foyer to sit with the suitcases, kindle in hand, with a hot chocolate :) we've got a few more bits to sort out but I'm definitely feeling more relaxed about it now. It was frustrating, as I used to always get stressed and panicky about stuff like this (it just overwhelms me and my ASD brain) but I'd got sooo much better and like I said the last couple of trips we were so organised! So it felt like a step backwards. But I guess given how much other crap is going on ATM it was to be expected really.

Purple we're staying at the Travelodge in Newhall Street :)

Tryingtosaveup · 23/05/2016 12:45

Cag, you must let me know what you think of that travel lodge, because as I said I am taking DGD there in summer hols. She's 7 so please tell me if you think it is suitable for her age. And if that travel lodge is fairly nearby.
That's a fantastic saving Ipso. Tell us what you think of it

lilacclery · 23/05/2016 13:44

My hoody was out of stock and has been refunded, it's like all my online shopping lately is going wrong! Grin ah well €14 back into my clothing category I guess!

Cagliostro · 23/05/2016 14:24

Trying in Leicester we're staying at the Holiday Inn. Has a pool apparently :) the Travelodge is in Birmingham. We're doing two nights at each :)

Been looking at info about DSD's uni which she starts in September. How did she grow up so fast?! Really going to miss her :( she's not too far away though really (2hrs or so by train). And she's more than ready to fly the nest (she's not getting on too well with her mum at the moment). So I am really excited for her taking this step, and quietly sad for myself :)
