I took the liberty as we were nearly at the end of the last one.

Haven't caught up properly at all

Spends yesterday £15. Volunteered at the zoo. Wandered around (walked about 15k in total) shaking a bucket for donations and sold raffle tickets. Superman was there as he is a patron of the zoo. We raffled off his first car. He is a jersey boy. And is gorgeous. And lovely. And smells amazing Dh didn't appreciate hearing that I practically threw myself at him Oopsy

Today's spends £60 on my tattoo. I am brave. I am strong. I am powerful. I am woman. except I cried a bit at the tattoo studio it looks ace. And actually didn't hurt as much as I anticipated. Just a bit pinchy.

£6.45 in boots on carex soap and nappy rash cream for tattoo healing.

£5 ish on full fat sugary Coke a bar of chocolate and satay noodle salad for lunch (needed a sugar hit after tattoo).

Ememem84 · 16/05/2016 17:37

ipsos I know you've said you'll try all the remedies but maybe give hot (as hot as he can bear) salty water a go.

The ridiculously attractive beach lifeguards dunked my foot in it last year when I stood on a weaver fish at low tide. Bastard fish. Leaves it's spike in your foot. The salt I think makes your skin dry so you can get to the object. Hurt. But not as near as much as standing on the bastard fish.

Apparently they bury themselves in the sand. So no way of really knowing they're there. Dicks.

Cagliostro · 16/05/2016 17:46

I've done the hot salty water too, works great :) also tried gargling it when throat was sore but nearly puked

Aw thank you lilac I'm feeling a bit better today and have done some stuff I was procrastinating over. I am really excited about the next chapter in my life, it's a bit of an odd feeling having that at the same time as being so sad about work - will get there in the end though :)

Managed to sort DD's 2 outfits for her gymnastics show, the whole lot for under £15, good old ebay!

babsmam · 16/05/2016 17:48

Em loving the spiky fish rant. I want to live in the ci sounds ace.

Ipsos ouch, my dd would be the same - I used to have to pin her down to get splinters out! I guess keep a close eye on it as there is a chance of infection but yes should eventually grow out.

Em I am well impressed at your bravery - are you pleased with the tattoo??

I have been at work all day so managed a NSD I think. Just had a very exciting tea of fishfingers and beans Hmm Morrisons is coming tomorrow which is good as fridge is practically empty Grin

Ememem84 · 16/05/2016 18:23

collie so pleased. It's a bit bigger than I wanted. But looks awesome. The lady was so good. Really patient and gently.

This is it. No meaning behind it other than it looks cute. Swallows are supposed to symbolise faith and strength and loyalty. Apparently. But I've just always liked this design. It's only taken me a few years to do it!

Ememem84 · 16/05/2016 18:24

Ps. I love fish fingers. They are the best. Especially in sandwiches.

SpaceKablooie · 16/05/2016 18:29

Hi everyone, I'm trying to post now and then to keep this on my Threads I'm on. And to not be an invisible lurker.

NSD today, just Greek yoghurt and bananas (I'm still refined sugar-free). I don't think DH will have spent any £, but he might be mainlining Mars bars at work for all I know Grin.

WreckTangled · 16/05/2016 18:33

I love it em! It does hurt when they keep going over and over and over!

Tandoori chicken with saag aloo for dinner. The dc didn't like it but I was impressed with my efforts

Hi all so ds2 has ear infection been on AB's since Thursday slowly on mend, had eye clinic today for his squint review and no improvement so have to patch for 1-2hrs day so pop patch on this afternoon screaming ensues no amount distraction stops him clawing at it and I thought this is gonna be fun, he rips if off literally on 3mins and hey presto angry red urticaria must have been hurting him took 2hrs to go down - have left hospital a voicemail asking if super sensitive ones available these were apparently hypoallergenic.

Ds2 (5) is doing Alice in wonderland at school and homework is make something to decorate the classroom he ewants to make Cheshire cat and I for some reason said we would make a sock cat - I am not creative and will be made in an hr before he goes to bed after ds1 finishes feeding to sleep - hey how hard can it be I can stuff a sock and sew!!

Ursulatodd · 16/05/2016 18:39

Very behind - sorry. Also been fairly spendy - (sorry Sad!) doesn't stop me wanting to go out to buy Chocolate though Blush!

ipsogenix · 16/05/2016 18:59

Thanks so much for the continuing tips on splinters. :-)

Need I'm definitely a foul mouthed leftie, yes. Dyed in the wool Labour voter and fond as anyone else of the F word. I go on about the FT a lot and probably sound like a total nob, but that's just a front.

WreckTangled · 16/05/2016 19:03

Oh no east I have skin like that. I use cavilon barrier spray before things like my cannula plaster but I suppose you can't use that near the eye?

CremeEggThief · 16/05/2016 19:03

Looks good, Em. I have never been brave enough to have one.

Looks delicious, Wreck. I always have a bombay or saag aloo as part of my Indian takeaway order.

Your weekend at Chatsworth sounded fantastic, Need. It's somewhere I've always wanted to visit.

I had to take DS to the orthodontist today. Some of you will recall his recent tooth infection stemmed from having two baby teeth out, on the orthodontist's say-so, prior to having braces fitted. After all that, it's looking as if he won't even need braces, as his overbite has shrunk from 7 mm to 2mm. Obviously, this is good news, but I can't help but feel nature should have been left to take its course. We were in there 5 minutes and told to come back in 9 months! So, spends: £6.60 return bus fare for me, to accompany DS; £5.70 coffee and muffins at a café ; £3.30 on pitta, milk, salad leaves and crisps and £10 topping up my smart meter. Total: £25.60. £10 last Monday lasted until this Monday, so that's definitely a saving, as it was £16-18 a week for both meters previously.

babsmam · 16/05/2016 19:05

That's good about the reduction crème, if slightly vexing.
Ooo need chatsworth sounds amazing. Well done DD and cheeky pony

bees lovely shoes Smile

girlie I stood near to the fruit bats yesterday. They are huge. But amazing!

lilac we've started using charcoal sticks for water filtering. We buy them on Amazon.

lilacclery · 16/05/2016 19:19

Ooh wreck that looks amazing!
[whispers] I'm out for dinner, between counselling & dermatologist appointment I decided to go for an early bird €13.50 beats browsing shops where I'd probably spend more.

Any development on minipsos splinter?

Em I love your tattoo - I've one on my back already, sun half in darkness half in light symbolising my earlier battle with depression, googled pictures to find similar but I can't attached is my next one. Possibly even same location. Symbolising weight loss struggle & making different choices to the norm in life, it means nothing without effort in Irish

Wreck

A nurse I work with has found a really good eczema cream in the states. It's not available here on Px so she buys it on amazon.

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007S5Z4GA/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003O7IBZC&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=GS7GD7Z49NSZ35DY0VRD. It made me think of your DD.

Ememem84 · 16/05/2016 19:32

lilac that's lovely!

WreckTangled · 16/05/2016 19:32

Oh thanks fluffy we love aveeno. I'm currently waiting for an Australian one which is meant to be amazing but is £££££ mil is sending it over from nz for us. If it doesn't work I'll give the aveeno a go Smile

PurpleRibbons · 16/05/2016 20:10

Well done on getting the tat Em, you are braver than me! Pleased to hear mini ipsos' foot is doing ok and that the shoes fitted bees.
NSD today, yay! Just checked and the bank balance is surprisingly healthy for this stage in the month, I've been restrained after spending too much in the Easter hols. Hopefully I can put some in savings before the month is out.

needastrongone · 16/05/2016 20:25

Ditto Ipsos, DH voted Tory in the last election for 'stability', I didn't speak to him for days. His dad was a miner FFS! How's your DS's foot?

Creme, Chatsworth was stunning, I really want to go back and explore on a 'normal' day, not when there are horse trials on. Good news, I think, on your DS's teeth/braces. I've just spent £17 on photos of the event, I'll post the proofs soon, but it's a bit outing!!

Love the tats, have a secret desire for one myself.

Cagliostro · 16/05/2016 20:58

I'd like a tattoo as well. Like Lilac I love the idea of having something representing getting through the difficult times. I'm thinking of something musical, like a rest symbol, kind of my own way of saying take a breather and carry on.
