I took the liberty as we were nearly at the end of the last one.

Thanks folk. Yes, it was an awful shock. The teacher was only in her late thirties with a young child and worked right up until the end. She was still there as recently as the week DS had all the trouble with his teeth. Terribly sadSad.

Anyway, we went for a lovely pub lunch today and then DS had outdoor archery, so it was nice to get out and about. Spends: £6.30 travel, £15.10 lunch and £6.50 at the barbers. Total :£27.90.

babsmam · 14/05/2016 17:27

Ah cag. I can see how that would be both annoying and upsetting. Flowers

That's really sad creme, I always feel for children that lose parents. The thing that has shocked me the most in my teaching career is how common it is.
I can see why that would upset you cag. Things like that bother me too.
Had a lovely day gardening and took DD to the park. Beautiful weather. We're all tired from all the fresh air!

WreckTangled · 14/05/2016 18:35

That would upset me too Cag!

Got they honey it's literally from down the road, within walking distance, so hopefully it will help.

babsmam · 14/05/2016 18:37

Fingers crossed wreck.

Does anyone have a katcher that connects to a mixer tap? Trying to decide if it's worth the £100 odd to get one for my path and patio. I think I would need the 4 model rather than the 2 as it's a lot of path

The Bathroom is done.... yay.

Been out for May Queen - ran into some friends so had to have a glass of bubbly while the floats went by. It was very chilled.

beesarethebest · 14/05/2016 18:47

That's really sad creme and how very annoying cag. I would be as annoyed as you. Or more.

My job has now been temporarily moved over to my boss. He thinks he can do both his job and mine. Hmm anyway before he can even start doing it or even think about it he's appointed a deputy. So my job has now been split into 2. And these 2 people are paid lots more than me.

And the thing that made me leave was the lack of 'another' to help me out. Argh.

£25 on massage. Can't wait!

babsmam · 14/05/2016 19:33

Ah bees that's shit too.
Just had to leave a tankini thread. It will be expensive

I have done a cross post
Creme that is awful.
cag peole like that get found out. We have one who we open a sweepstake each year to see how many people leap frog over him. He may have got there quickly by being a shit, but he isn't going anywhere but down.

Cagliostro · 14/05/2016 19:49

Ugh that is very annoying too bees Hmm Angry

Finally managing to do a lazy pasta dinner for the DCs. DH (by phone as he's at work) said just get a takeaway and normally I would TBH but I thought I'd be sensible at least once! I have a couple of microwavable things I can have later anyway. I get by ok most of the time lately (stopping work has helped enormously) but some days like today I just ache like hell.

I've set a rate for my class. And offered it from my house. Am now rather scared! Excited but scared. :)

Tryingtosaveup · 14/05/2016 20:29

Wreck, so glad you got the local honey. It's the local pollen in it that helps. Supermarket honey is pressure filtered so that it will not granulate but the process gets rid of all the pollen, and anyway most of it is imported.
It's a terrible shock when a young person dies and a tragedy for the children.
NSD again today. Living from freezer and store cupboard.

Just checking in because this thread fell off the list of threads I'm on because I haven't posted in ages Smile.

I'm spending £ liked it's going out of fashion at the moment - lots of our insurances etc seem to need renewed at this time of year. I'm being frugal though, and looking for alternative providers / negotiating etc.

£3 bus to next town
£7.95 on a sample floor tile for kitchen
£11.25 in Tesco, fruit for next 4 days, chewing gum for DDs, lunch for DD2 and myself
£5.25 in bakers
£8.76 in B&Q

AuditAngel · 14/05/2016 21:05

Busy day today. £1 parking, went to collect pre ordered suitcase, it wasn't the right size. Swapped it for the right one, but had to pay full price £12 more. £7 in Marks, 2 drinks, mini salad and fruit salad. Breakfast on the go.

So, today I had my personal shopper appointment to buy an outfit for the wedding in Spain next month. It was great. The first dresses she had weren't suitable for a Spanish wedding, she X and back with more. Bought a maxi dress, white with blue and green flowers, dark navy tie belt. A sheer navy 3/4 sleeve jacket and a necklace. £215 Shock They didn't have the shoes in my size, sandals and earrings in M&S £60

My MIL bought me a navy clutch bag in Matalan

I would definitely do the personal shopper again. It was so painless. Obviously the stuff I was offered wasn't cheap, but she was really good

beesarethebest · 14/05/2016 21:15

Hi audit where did you do your personal shopper at? A big store?

AuditAngel · 14/05/2016 21:32

Bees I went to Debenhams. Not our local one which is small and doesn't do the personal shopper. I went to the Guildford branch as MIL can barely walk. I dropped her at the door, dashed off to park and rushed back.

I was recommended to a local independent store that offers the same service, but I was worried about how much that might cost.

WreckTangled · 15/05/2016 07:22

Ooo audit you weren't far from me!

Cinema this morning I've been up two hours testing my sugar levels so a bit tired. I don't know if we will buy snacks for the cinema we have plenty of stuff we can with is tbh. Dh will probably want a macdonalds or something but if he's paying its up to him!

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 15/05/2016 07:46

It's been a bit spendy this weekend.

DS had an extra ice skating lesson yesterday. Someone mentioned an upcoming show that he could possibly audition for. I've asked him if he'd like to try out and he said yes. Its in 4 weeks. I think I'm going to split his lessons up a bit and go more often if that makes sense so he can practice more. No harm if he doesn't get in this year but I think he'd really enjoy it with the other children. He's coming on so much. He's making lots of friends and looks so happy.

I put petrol in my car on Friday. That was £52.60 as car was totally empty. Ouch. Hopefully that should last me the rest of the month.

Yesterday after DS ice skating lesson, we went for a long walk round a walk/track that's out in sticks a bit. DS went on his bike and I walked with couple of friends. We then stopped off for a coffee/refreshment in the hotel close by in their beer garden overlooking a golf course. I paid for drinks and snack £8.20.

DS then went to a party. And I went for a walk into town with his grandparents (his dad's side) and we booked a day trip to lapland. It was very expensive but it's a once in lifetime experience for DS. His grandparents will pay most of his. His grandad gets 5% off using some card scheme through work. I was cheeky and asked instore if they did nhs discount. They offered us £30 off. Every little helps as they say. I don't have to pay his grandad back till closer the time.

I've realised August is going to be a very spendy month. My car tax is due and so is my car insurance and it's my DS birthday. He's now decided he wants a class party with an entertainer. I've explained if he chooses this option then that's the only thing he shall be getting bar a present or two. He seems happy enough. I'm hoping to do it all for £200 tops. I shall hire a room, get an entertainer, and do my own food and decorations. I'm sure I can make it work!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/05/2016 08:03

Extra £10 yesterday on booze because family came round.

blueteapot · 15/05/2016 08:42

Hi everyone :) busy busy here but finally getting round to posting!

Its been a v spendy week with 5 (yes 5!) family birthdays in one week, including DHs - we had a party yesterday which cost a lot. Naturally not budgeted for any of it so its all come out of this months budget - from this year on I think I need to open an account for presents etc like I do with energy / car bills etc as on reflection its a huge expense over the year. We are now running on empty for the rest of the month, will need to get creative :/ you think Id be better at frugaleering by this stage!

Today will involve a bit of baking / cooking to use up what we have rather than buying more. Most of the party leftovers are alcohol which will do us over the coming months but no good for feeding the DC :)

9.23 of the £90 in my topcashback account confirmed, could do with that at the mo. Anybody planning to still withdraw as tesco points now theyre not doing the double up after May?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/05/2016 08:52

I'll still do points for things like days out but I'll start taking cash for big things.

blueteapot · 15/05/2016 09:00

Mm fluffy I had only just discovered the tesco points thing and now it seems less attractive - would maybe still be useful for travel etc.

Anyone with o2 priority I see theres a free boots shower gel, going to get a few later when we are out and about I think

beesarethebest · 15/05/2016 09:01

Thanks audit. I lived in Guildford many moons ago as a student. Fun times! Smile

Massage last night was amazing. I've committed to another one in a few weeks. I think I just need to be good to myself. I don't smoke and drink v little (only when out, which is hardly ever). I've stopped shopping for clothes (although might be tempted when go to shop later but have the 'spark joy' idea in my head. I've given away a ton of clothes that didn't fit me but were still v nice. I'm going to start thinking about food. I have a friend who's doing the jar salad thing for work and she's lost so much weight!! And the food looks yummy too!

Off to church now. Just me and dd. Ds off with dh with some activity.

Promised dd to get some clothes as she's grown. Let's hope mummy doesn't go too nuts!!! Grin

SpaceKablooie · 15/05/2016 09:08

blue, I calculated our present spending recently as well - for us for a year, and for everyone else for a year. Wow, it all adds up! We cut down our budget for DH and I once we'd done that.
