I took the liberty as we were nearly at the end of the last one.

bees easyjet are great. We flew to Israel with them. they allocate seats.

We've looked at BA flights to Pisa - almost £1000 for two of us to fly from jersey via gatwick. Easyjet are cheaper at about £500 (including luggage) but Ryanair fly to Genoa which I think is slightly closer to where we want to be. Not checked out prices yet. Ryanair also don't fly from jersey to gatwick.

Work today but going for lunch with a friend so probably £15 or so on coffee and sandwiches.

babsmam · 12/05/2016 06:29

Hello trying and welcome, don't feel like an intruder even if you want to continue lurking. Thanks for the Hilton tip off I had no idea.
Daily, scrub Newcastle off the list maybe?
I'm interested in the space centre too. I might take the DC overnight in the hollibobs. They are 8&6 and room service is the best thing ever -fact.

Today is swimming renewal so £42x2

Welcome trying :)
NSD since last saturday when I got a paper. I'll do a shop today I think, that'll kill it :)

WreckTangled · 12/05/2016 06:49

Welcome trying.

Em that's a great list Grin

Hardly any sleep as ds has an awful cough. Off to work soon. Need milk.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 12/05/2016 07:20

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 12/05/2016 07:51

Just checking in.

It's been a NSD Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (apart from usual activities which aren't included as they are budgeted for).

I expect to fill up car full with petrol. Looking at around £45. My budget per month is £80 and I haven't filled up so far this month. This budget may go up once I'm working more and driving round in community. Girlie how much do you find you spend on petrol each week? Thankfully should get some back in mileage allowance.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 12/05/2016 07:52

Oh also getting my hair cut tonight. That should be no more than 20 pound. She's coming to the house. It hasn't been done in almost 6 months. Oops.

EvaDelectorskaya · 12/05/2016 10:15

Em- Ryanair are perfectly fine to fly with, no frills, but who needs frills for a shorthaul flight, anymore than you would pay extra for frills on a short bus or train journey. And I think they have gotten as much mileage / media coverage as they can out of their no frills policies so they seem to be publicising themselves recently as having better customer service eg I think they have introduced allocated seating again.

EvaDelectorskaya · 12/05/2016 10:18

Planned spends today:

€25 on Shellac nails
Depending on time constraints ,
I may buy lunch out too, but if I don't have time, I can manage with what I have in the fridge at work.
I was late home yesterday evening and then DS was up late too so I really couldn't motivate myself to make a proper lunch for today Blush

northender · 12/05/2016 13:53

I haven't read back through the thread to catch up but will try to later.
Welcome to newbies
Life is hugely chaotic at the moment hence my lack of posting recently.
Saturday: dd did cricket scoring (£20 isn't bad for an 11yo!), ds went to London with dh
Sunday: dd had a cricket match, ds did cricket scoring
Monday: ds had school football match followed by club cricket match
Tuesday: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AFTER WORK/SCHOOL!!!!!!!
Wednesday: dh & ds both had cricket matches, dd had drama lesson
Today: dd has cricket match
Friday: cricket nets for everyone (I cook burgers & sausages)
Saturday; It all starts again!!
Fortunately dh & I both love cricket and it's a sociable sport to be involved in so it's mad but in a good way.
So, today I'm not at work and the place is like a launderette, trying to get everything washed and dried. Luckily it's a glorious day again so I can get everything dry on the line. I've been shopping and spent about £100 in total but I will get some of that back as it included ingredients for cocktails for Saturday night's Eurovision party at the cricket club.
My big frugal fail was scraping the side of the car badly driving away from the cricket club for the umpteenth time. It's in being sorted at the moment but is going to be £300 and that's mate's rates Shock
I have also got behind with with meal planning , stocking up etc so I'm catching up with that today. Ham salad for tea (outside if the sun continues to shine), a vat of bolognese in the slow cooker and a batch of tomato soup I think. That'll do for the moment.

needastrongone · 12/05/2016 15:21

Afternoon.

Lovely weather here.

£50 Morrisons.
£29 Aldi
£6 Amazon.

Hi North, don't you just love DC activities that take over your life Smile. Sorry to hear about the car, I am just waiting to hear from the garage how much my horse box will cost me today, it's in for an oil leak repair and service.

Frugal win. I have been looking at TV packages, our Sky package is now out of contract, so I would be paying £75 pcm. I've spoken to Plusnet, as we have our phone and broadband with them, and we have all the relevant equipment for their TV service (other than the box, which they have offered free). I can get super fast broadband, phone, TV and line rental for £45pcm all in, which is excellent, that would save me £600 per year.

Would have to get Netflix, to cover movies, but that's only £6 pm, so still loads cheaper.

Making chicken curry for tea. DH is away and has been all week, and is away next week too Sad

WreckTangled · 12/05/2016 15:45

£3.50 tea towel from school.

Frugal Win: at work we get sent packs from Emma's diary for pregnant ladies. We aren't allowed to give any of the samples out as we aren't allowed to be shown as advertising/showing a preference. I now have 7 packs of dettol anti bac wipes and 10 fairy liquitabs. Plus about twenty newborn nappies which I'll give to my friend.

Cagliostro · 12/05/2016 16:18

Em thank you for the coins! They arrived today. Very happy DD x Thanks

Slightly spendy day here. Cheesy chips x4 as is traditional after DCs' fortnightly trampolining class, and DD has passed yet another level :o so that'll be £3.50 for the badge/certificate (she's started doing flips, eek!). Frugal win - she got a 1-to-1 session as nobody else showed up! Also got DD a skipping rope as part of her Brownies sports badge, and summer shoes for both DCs, under £20 for those 3 things. DH is getting medicines for DS... who broke his wrist! :( :( :( He came off his scooter the other day, it hurt at the time but then wasn't bothering him. But it swelled up again so DH took him to the walk in today, and they x-rayed it. He's not allowed a cast because of his eczema (it might get infected underneath) so he's got a tubigrip and velcro splint thingy. They weren't surprised we'd not realised as apparently at this age (6) the bones are softer or something. He feels fine! And the doctor was fascinated by home ed and was impressed at his maths skills Wink.

Lost out on a lesson today, but have another two later, one a newbie so that's exciting. Silver lining - the one I'm missing is the one where I go to their house, and frankly it's too hot to move! [sweltering]

Ordering the last of DD's birthday presents too, with some of the money from my GM (most will go towards club fees as usual)

needastrongone · 12/05/2016 16:27

Love how chilled you are about broken bones Cag Grin. You are right to be, at that age, they fix easier too, I promise (expert with teens......!)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/05/2016 17:08

Oh no Cag poor ds! Kids really do heal up ridiculously quick though, always something with kids isn't it?!

Need your pony is adorable, wish you lived a bit closer so we could pop over with some carrots for him! Well done on the saving as well.

North i was worn out just reading your post! I think its bad with dd having after school activities two nights of the week Grin

Welcome Trying

I had a shit start to the day, completely flat tyre and because I don't have breakdown cover from my house had to pay £48 for a man from the local garage to come out and change it for me grr! Will also need to replace the type in my boot now as well.

No other spends, my lovely mum has bought dd some more summer clothes - need to get dd to try them on now.....

lilacclery · 12/05/2016 17:30

Finally up to date! Busy at work today

em Ryanair do allocated seating you select at time of booking the flight. We have Aer Lingus and Ryanair here and other than the planes being a bit roomier with Aer Lingus I haven't noticed any great difference. Have only travelled short haul like UK or Europe with either of them.

Ememem84 · 12/05/2016 17:31

£3.50 on a sandwich and some strawberries for lunch. Friend cancelled and rescheduled for tomorrow. So it was a desk lunch for me.

I also booked our flights. Went with BA in the end. Initial cost £975. By changing to a Thursday - Thursday flight managed to get it down to £700. And by persuading Dh to set up a household avios account and then use the avios points we've saved another £255. So 4x flights X 2 people plus bags and seats (included in price with BA) £445. Yippee!

Also finally remembered to buy my boss travel buddy a bottle of wine for coping so amazingly with my flight nerves meltdown on the plane last week.

cag so glad the coins arrived. Hope Dd likes them!

Sorry about ds - he'll heal quickly though. Kids are super bouncy (or so my riding instructor says...) i used to do trampolining. And can still do flippies. but only on trampoline or off a diving board.

lilacclery · 12/05/2016 17:33

Girlie can you change a tyre yourself?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/05/2016 17:37

Lila no I wouldn't have a clue Blush

PurpleRibbons · 12/05/2016 17:55

I am exhausted! This is officially the most stressful week of the year as Yr 11 leave so we've been sorting them out and also sorting all their folders to go off to the moderator. It's been a long day. Then I had to get petrol, bloody hell that's got expensive again!
Making stuffed peppers and corn cobs for tea plus bread and butter pudding to use up some slightly stale croissants.
Welcome to newcomers and I hope your DS is ok cag.

lilacclery · 12/05/2016 19:26

If you've anyone that could teach you it would save you this expense again.
We don't have the likes of autoassist in Ireland so you need to know or ring daddy or some other male to help you.
Nothing to be embarrassed about lots of women still don't know & wait like a helpless damsel on side of the road Grin
I often travel 3 hour journey to my parents so I learned how & it's never happened more than 4 miles from work or home Smile

Getting diesel soon & milk
Tomorrow will be a deli lunch as a monthly treat

lilacclery · 12/05/2016 19:29

My sketchers got cancelled & refunded but rest of delivery arrived as I only ordered them to get free delivery I might return rest of the items instore. Before I'd have said its only €5/€6 but now I'm thinking well it's money I wouldn't have spent otherwise.

Cagliostro · 12/05/2016 19:33

Thanks folks! He's still managing to move his thumb enough to play Mario so you know, priorities and all that... Hmm :o Anyway he's not phased at all. He is indeed bouncy :o

Had a lovely lesson with a current pupil and her big sister, who does have another teacher already but looks like she's switching to me as well. To be told 'you're just what she needs' was lovely, a welcome boost to my confidence!

In other news I heard back about the room hire and it's just as expensive as the other one. So I'm thinking I'm going to have to run the class here instead. Somehow.

Cagliostro · 12/05/2016 19:39

:o need I've surprised myself with how non-stressed I am! This is the first broken bone either of my two have had, and I've never had any myself either. DSD has though and that was much worse as she was older and had to have pins put in etc. Awful. DS just has to go to clinic in a couple of weeks (the day we leave for our little trip away! But it's in the morning) and they aren't foreseeing any problems.

And silver lining, seems like the right time to study the skeleton :o
