Ooh thanks for the reminder Purple - I did sign up although I haven't remembered my password downloaded anything from there yet. I did find out you can upload and even sell resources on there too, even if you aren't a teacher, so once my work situation is all sorted I'm planning to smarten up some of the stuff I've made for the DCs as I'd love to share them (and yes, make a few pennies perhaps :))

Sorry DD is coldy :(

Such a gorgeous afternoon. I've been forced by the dc to leave dinner halfway through cooking to come to the playground Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2016 17:14

£1.87 in Tesco.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/04/2016 17:37

Hi all, have managed a nod Smile

My dd goes to a woodland holiday club in the err well holidays Hmm Grin she absolutely loves it! We also below to the local wildlife meet up group which is great and often does free activities on the wends.

Haven't felt great all day, head and neck are aching and feel completely knackered. Early night tonight, was pissed off with work as had an email saying that if I have any more time of sick I will go on sickness monitoring Hmm I was only off as dd was so seriously unwell and haven't had any other period of sickness in over a year ffs!! Grr Angry the NHS are so unsympathetic.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/04/2016 17:38

Haha a nod?? Make that nsd - blinking autocorrect Grin

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 19/04/2016 18:26

24.50 DS ice skating lesson.

That's all for today. Everyone is out the house tonight, I'm going to rest.

PurpleRibbons · 19/04/2016 19:03

That's rubbish girlie, hope you feel better soon.
I agree, it's been a beautiful day. It's so much easier not to spend money when the weather is nice and you can go to the park/play in the garden.

Colliefeatures · 19/04/2016 19:16

Has anyone ever used La Redoute?

Girlie that's so shit! Bloody NHS!! Grrrr. Hope you feel better soon.

NSD here.

babsmam · 19/04/2016 19:41

I thought you meant nap not nod over tired.
Girlie sorry to hear that. Detail everything and keep it so you can argue your case if you need to. Although I suspect it will be forever etched in your mind.
£10 Morrison's and £12 on chips tea. Day from hell ran out of time to cook. Bloody yoghurt curdled in my curry. Gah. £5 on dance shoes

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2016 19:45

I've used la redoute. It all got sent back.

The boden stuff I bought was exceptional quality though. Really good.

Ememem84 · 19/04/2016 19:56

Sky box sold £30 in my pocket! Yippee.

needastrongone · 19/04/2016 20:04

Newmama I used the same babygro to bring both of my DC home from the hospital, I've kept that one in my memory box. It's unisex (good, I have one of each!) and lovely and I treasure it.

Hope you feel ok soon girlie, bloody NHS.

Don't, that sounds like a lovely afternoon and what a nice guy! The party idea sounds lovely, and frugal.

My spends today went up a bit, but I have done really well this month, and will manage to save nearly an extra £500 on top of usual savings so feel really pleased.

£50 hair, cut, colour and blow dry.
£30 on 4 bras from M&S for DD.
£30 on 2 pairs of jodphurs for DD, luckily she is slim and petite so still fits child sizes (I do too ha!).

Cagliostro · 19/04/2016 20:38

Oh no Girlie :(

I am jealous of the wildlife meet up group! We don't have any near us.

Friend passed on some of her DS' old clothes for my DS - lovely :) :) and DS is ecstatic because there's some of his favourite characters on some items. :)

girlie Eugh that sucks. I'm sorry work are being so crap. It's a difficult situation. I hope dd is feeling better now though X X

In my old job I had to put someone on sickness monitoring and hated having to do it. She was suffering from stress and probably depression (her mum was really unwell). But the time off was taking its toll. It was a classic pattern - pretty much every other Monday and usually about 3 weeks then 2 days off sick. I was sympathetic and tried to help but I was backed into a corner and had to have the chat with her.

My advice to you, check your sickness policy. Check specifically to see if certified by a GP days count as relevant to the monitoring procedure and if only related to unverified days go to the GP next time you take a day.

Counted up £9 of change which will be taken to the bank tomorrow.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/04/2016 21:21

Thanks all, I understand that they have to keep an eye on sickness but thought it was a bit mean given the circumstances and that I am not someone who has a lot of sickness generally!

I'm in bed with a hot water bottle on my neck.

Ememem84 · 19/04/2016 21:29

In a way girlie I guess it makes it easier that dd was in hospital. I mean at least you have a record of it. Obviously I don't wish that on anyone and it sounded like an awful time for you. But you're right. They (being employers) should have more compassion about stuff like this.

Comeonmommy · 19/04/2016 21:34

Hello all, new to this page but definitely need as much help as possible. I am currently off work on long term disability so am missing my wage!!!!!

Ipsos · 19/04/2016 21:45

What do they mean to do if you're put on monitoring Girlie? It seems silly for the NHS, of all people, to not understand that sometimes people get ill, and that their children do to.

I had an exciting day going to visit my supervisor in my voluntary job. Now my brain is all spinning with ideas which I want to do immediately and which I can't really do until next week. It was really fun.

Cag your fungus walk sounds excellent.

Ds and I sent a birthday card to the Queen. It was Quite Exciting. Ds helpfully spelt the word Queen "Qeen", which added a certain class to the whole affair.

AdoraBell · 19/04/2016 22:09

£68-ish on grocery delivery. I am resisting on line shopping. Made the mistake of posting on a thread about fountain pens and now I want a lovely new pen Hmm

Girlie that's rotten.

AdoraBell · 19/04/2016 22:15

Welcome Comeonemommy you'll find lots of help and support here. Is it just you or do you have a partner in work? And have you looked at changing utilities to reduce costs, or cancel anything like Sky etc, if you have it?

Cagliostro · 19/04/2016 22:52

LSD for me:
£1.80 greggs (sent DD in with change to buy the food on her own while I nipped to the cashpoint - she felt so grown up! I'm really proud she did it as she can be very shy in that sort of situation)
£2.50 DD's writing club

DH has also signed up to a couple of runs recently, including one that marks the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings?! So that can be tied in with a history project nearer the time. Can't remember costs but he uses his pocket money for it anyway.

And welcome mommy sorry to hear you are unwell. I am also off long term. Thanks

Hi mommy
Nsd planned today.
Girlie it's most likely an automated process that someone has looked at the days and sent the letter. Get hold of your absence management policy to get a full picture of what this means. Write a full history of what went on in case you need it.
Don't the bouncy castle guy sounds great
Adora step away from the pen shop
Nsd planned today

Ememem84 · 20/04/2016 07:02

Nsd planned for today. Dh comes back this evening. I've missed him. But have enjoyed two nights of sleeping sprawled out right in the middle of our bed. Two proper good sleeps. Smile

Some guys coming to collect my sky box this evening. Yay!

I'm at a seminar this morning then work this afternoon. No need to buy lunch today as seminar is providing hooray for free sandwiches

Sun is shining again so I'm walking to work. Second time this week. So have saved £14 so far on parking.

PurpleRibbons · 20/04/2016 07:34

Morning all!
After the chat on here yesterday about Forest School I did some research last night and found that the Wildlife Trust do loads of activities for children, even toddlers, and they are only about £3 a session. There seems to be local variation in prices though. Thought some of you might be interested.
Need to buy milk and dishwasher tablets today, DH told me we'd run out after I did the weekly shop yesterday!
