Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

Thanks Creme. I'm going back to the pacing. It was so good.

Pacing is the way to go, Ipsos. Get yourself back on your feet first and then get back to pacing.

Thanks Creme I'll do that. Smile

Well done for turning that round Lucsy. That sounds so heroic.

Lucsy Goodness, what a time you must have had. Well done for getting things back under control. That's amazing.

babsmam · 07/04/2016 18:59

That's a bit of a relief about the jsa.

babsmam · 07/04/2016 19:01

Well done lucsy. What a hideous time that must have been for you. That's the thing with something like mn there is usually someone willing to help.

I've bought my car insurance, £395. Looked up tax and it's going to be £270 so I'll pay that monthly as I can't find that much instantly. It's a lot higher than I expected. I have to remind myself that the car was free so though I begrudge spending this out I've spent nothing on the car itself.

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 19:13

Well done Lucsy. I always feel for parents with multiple kids when I see the uniform lists. Our school needs three pairs of shoes for each child and I know someone with 5 kids. I really wonder how anyone manages.

I will Creme, TKAMB really affected her especially.

Money I just mention you and you pop up Smile I'm glad the JSA has been confirmed, good luck for the interview. 15 flexible hours would be useful.

I'm glad things are working out for you Lucsy, it must have been a truly awful time.

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 19:24

That's great Lucsy. What size are your kids feet? My ds is in size 12 Clarks and on the point of growing out of them. His main shoes are wrecked but his trainers and indoor shoes are in mint condition still. I have another pair that rubbed his feet that are almost new. I'd be happy to post them.

Gosh! You have bigger kids than me then. Good luck!

Whataboutnodetox · 07/04/2016 19:33

Lucsy it's diesel, automatic estate. Beggars can't be choosers so I'll pay it but it shocked me too! I've increased my car savings to reflect it so I can pay it in one go next year.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 07/04/2016 19:53

I'm absolutely shattered. Each day this week has been a NSD apart from usual bills/expenditure.

I feel drained now I'm back at work. I also stubbed my toe and my toenail fell off and it's very painful.

I want to curl up in a ball and sleep for a week.

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 20:26

Sorry to hear about the toe and the exhaustion Dont. If you stick the toe up in the air does it hurt less? I walloped my fingernail once and it went black and it hurt a lot and throbbed unless I held it up in the air. Good luck with the sleeping.

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 20:32

Just been rummaging around for a bit of beautiful science to enjoy with Em and I found this. Tempted to try it myself with ds. It's quite cheap and the end product looks lovely. Smile

Haven't read back properly so will do that later.
Has been a busy, busy week here but okay in terms of spending.
The building society have agreed provisionally to lend us the money for the loft conversion, woohoo!!
Ds has been picked in a competition to go to Wembley stadium and take part in a playstation FIFA tournament in May which he is very excited about! After the stress of the last 3 weeks I think it couldn't have come at a better time. All we have to do is get there so we have said he needs to pay half the travel costs. That might sound harsh but he needs to know that there is a cost attached.
I've had 3 NSDs but definitely need to do a top up shop now.
Dd is going on a sleepover tomorrow night straight from school so, as ds can be left now, dh & I are going to go out. I'd like to eat out but my frugal head says eat in and then have a few drinks out. Not sure what we'll decide.

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 21:05

I just paid my UpWork money into my stakeholder pension and it got made up to £500 with a £100 tax rebate from the government. That's enough to pay for half a boiler when I'm old and broke. Yay!

lilacclery · 07/04/2016 21:17

Wow I go offline for a few hours & you guys go crazy Smile

I did the grocery shopping in the meantime €110 this should see us through ten days or so.
