Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

girlie Yay! High five! Grin

lilac saving a bit every month purely for the car was a tip I found on this thread. It's brilliant and has eased so much stress. Definitely recommended.

Pointlessfan · 07/04/2016 16:20

Yay Girlie, how exciting!

beesarethebest · 07/04/2016 16:31

oh lilac that looks amazing!!! :)

beesarethebest · 07/04/2016 16:34

I can empathise with all the spends... I've got 2 lots of music lessons to pay, (several hundred each), 2 lots of swimming lessons, one lot of ballet lessons, ongoing language lessons, 3 more credit card bills to arrive and pay for... and I want to book a summer holiday. ARGH!!

WreckTangled · 07/04/2016 16:38

Only dd in her swimming lesson Star

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 17:01

Does you dd have private swimming lessons Wreck? That sounds good.

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 17:02

I just came across this again on facebook. I think it's so extremely true at all times of life.

NSD. Just been to the local library today and found a book I've wanted to read since it came out "Go Set a Watchman", by Harper Lee. I've also got them to order me two books by JoJo Moyes. We really are so lucky to have a library service still, despite all the cuts.

Right, wish me luck, as DS is having 2 pals here any minute for a sleepover aka no sleep tonight! Grin

Ipsos thanks for posting the passive aggressive picture. Confused

Have to go and buy more fruit. DS is a fruit piglet lately.

Sainsbury's just announced that they are no longer doing "Brand Match".

babsmam · 07/04/2016 17:26

Home again, lost the thread.
£50 new wipers for my car, £104 matalan on suitcases, £56 sainsburys

Ememem84 · 07/04/2016 17:44

Woah. yous guys have been busy today.

Nsd. I just had a mooch around in m&s while waiting for Dh to finish work and almost bought a pair of coral coloured jeans. I do not need them. so put them back. [Halo

Such a busy day at work. Have barely left my desk. Except for my hour at lunchtime when I had a wander about outside.

I am so happy tomorrow is Friday.

One of my clients was on tv today. We happened to see him on there and had to turn volume up and listen. Someone not me is going to have to have words with him. We're meant to know if he does any media stuff. And he didn't tell us. Le sigh.

ipsos I was chatting to my friend last night as she's into science. And she said she's lend me her "big book of science" she's a teacher so apparently it's all GCSE level so maybe I'll be able to understand some of it....! It got me thinking that there's so much I don't know....

I did have a browse online at lunchtime and after talking to a colleague googled "flat earth theory" absolutely fascinating that people still believe in it. Disclaimer. I know the earth is round. I do. I know this. But it's fascinating reading about those who don't.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/04/2016 17:46

Ooh I had the sainsburys email too. Mil will be most annoyed. It justifies her shopping there if she gets a voucher.

About £20 yesterday but getting £16 back because it was food offers on quidco. Have lots of spices and Paul Hollywood bread mixes now though. Messed up the voucher at the till, dh wandered off embarrassed & in my flustered state I forgot our joint account card. Had to go back today to fetch it.

£5 petrol.

Today
£4 on stamps
£2.50 card
£3 on beer but getting that back off topcashback.
£1 on caustic soda.
£1.25 on sausage rolls in Tesco.

Welcome back Hairspray. Now you know why consolidation loans aren't popular with banks, it doesn't really change behaviour. I went for one once and they offered me one at 20% interest because they didn't think I'd pay it back. So I knuckled down and paid it off the old fashioned way.

Girlie Get packing now, luckily you've got a bh Monday before then. Don't forget cashback for the new insurances and broadband etc. You won't need boiler cover, the gaurentees cover you as long as it's serviced yearly.

Trying to plan a garden. Difficult when neither of you have the foggiest about gardens. So far we both agree we want a bbq. Me so I can cook on it and dh so he can fill ndn house with bbq smoke like ndn do to us. I'm sure they've never cleaned that grill. It smells of rancid fat.

CremeEggThief · 07/04/2016 17:48

-Em, that reminds me I picked up some coral jeggings in the M&S sale for this summer at the end of last summer, for about £8. I can't wait to wear them!

Shopmium

Think it's an app but I've had free green and black choc and snacks since I down loaded it. Free choc code is KMHGYEGZ. No minimum payout that I can see.

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 17:57

Thanks Lucsy. I have so many friends who are privately struggling just now. It seems such a shame.

Collie Sorry, it wasn't meant to be passive aggressive. I just find it helpful. It's how I try to live my life.

That's great Em

Ipsos · 07/04/2016 18:20

I just resigned my writing job, and have gone to bed to fight off this lurgy. Had a lovely day with ds today who helped me with the housework and was a good friend to watch Donald Duck with. Smile

needastrongone · 07/04/2016 18:22

Girlie, only a month!!!! How exciting. You will do it and it will be brilliant owning your own home. I suspect there's a fair few deals around re insurance if you shop around. Moving dates can slip too, if you were worried. Supermarkets will give you boxes. Keep the kettle out!

fluffy My paranoia is leaving the cards at home or for some reason them not working, lord knows why!

I am wondering if money is ok? I know she hasn't posting for long, but she hasn't posted for a few days and she was really worried last time she did.

Grin at Collie

I feel I've been on the go all day. My spends

£3.19 in M&S, as I didn't want to break into another voucher. Mainly bread which we like from there and stuff for the weekend competition.
£23 in the camping shop on a heater for the horse box, but had a gift card.
£16 feed shop on a present for DD's friend and some sawdust.
£62 diesel for the horse box.
£10 DS haircut, plus £1.50 tip.
£6 training for DD.

CremeEggThief · 07/04/2016 18:22

Hope you feel better soon, Ipsos.

Creme DD's 2 favourite books, To Kill a Mockingbird and sequel. We went to see the play last year, loved it.

MoneyForNothing · 07/04/2016 18:27

Boy, this thread moves fast, I can't keep up!

Thanks for the suggestions of upping my overdraft limit but I already asked the bank about that a few weeks ago and they said no. Can't blame them really. Thankfully I didn't go over my overdraft limit as my housing benefit went in the same day that my direct debits went out, so they kind of cancelled each other out. I'm still really close to my overdraft limit though so need to be really careful.

Still missing my child maintenance Sad. Can't get hold of the CSA by phone so I emailed them at the end of last week. Apparently it could take up to 10 working days to respond the useless idiots. If I don't get a reply I'll write to my MP. I need that money, so if my ex has left his job on purpose again, I need to be informed so I know where I stand.

On the plus side, it's been confirmed that I'm getting JSA and will get my first payment (6 days' worth) tomorrow, plus DS now qualifies for free school meals. Also, I have a job interview early next week. Smile. Only 15 hours per week but better than nothing and it's flexible so I should be able to fit it into school hours. Will need childcare for the holidays though.

CremeEggThief · 07/04/2016 18:28

To Kill A Mocking Bird has been one of my favourites too since I read it for school, aged 14. High five your DD for me!Smile
