Dh started a new full time job couple weeks ago which is great but it means he will not get paid till 29th April so it's going to be rather tight till then
Crispy chicken, wedges and salad for dinner tonight

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 29/03/2016 11:52

cag don't ebay search for incubators, and never hatching eggs! I long for quail...but dp used my quail pen space (in my mind plan) for a ferret run. much better than gaving the cute but so smelly buggers inside.

Sad news is I am taking dd1 to the dentist tomorrow for toothache. She is 13 and no way can I wrestle her to the ground to clean her teeth like I used to anymore. Sigh. It might be a lessen learned for her Sad

Cagliostro · 29/03/2016 11:52

TBF Love most of the HC sale stuff is out of stock already. A definite advantage financially Blush

Wolf YAY! Congratulations! Star

Had an email back already from the education website and they confirmed that we don't need to be a qualified teacher to upload resources. So I'm going to make it a little project to polish up the stuff I've already made for the DCs, and actually get round to making the other ones I've planned, to see if I can make a few quid. Won't do it just yet as there's loads of other things I should be doing. Will be good for my brain though, as the author hasn't sent me any of her second manuscript yet so I'm a bit bored!

I checked my calendar and I have until April 8th for my employers to contact me about redeployment. I've heard nothing. That's not a good sign is it. Hmm :(

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 29/03/2016 12:24

At home with ds1 this week have sent ds2 to nursery its paid for and he will have more fun there ayi can get some sorting done here.

Have sorted ds1 clothes out and ds2 has a huge box of 2-3 summer and winter awaiting him and 3-4 and 4-5 tops and will have shorts and trousers hopefully only minimal bits needed I'm future for him I have started buying higher end bits for ds1 knowing will wash well and be passed down

Need to pop to asda to get a storage box for some of the clothes and they then go under bed or cot.

Cagliostro · 29/03/2016 12:51

I found Boots clothes the best for pass-down-ability :) I'm gutted that both mine are too old for them now (biggest size is 5-6). DS still has jammies that have had constant use for 5 years and they're still lovely.

I've been clearing out my email inboxes and found some from NatWest - I'm really embarrassed to say that I had no idea how few benefits I get from the fancy account I've ended up paying for. It seems to just be car and travel insurance now! I've just ignored the situation. Need to go in and ask if I can move to a free one.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/03/2016 13:06

Collie Card WareHouse or Card Factory are great for birthday cards, they quite often do a 10 cards for £1 offer! Nice cards as well.

Have taken Boycat to the vets this morning, his insulin has been increased as his blood sugars are still crazy high, he doesn't seem himself at the mo so am hoping this will help. Anyway the vet has agreed to claim from the insurance company directly which is a massive bonus as this is obviously going to be an ongoing issue. Needed to pick up steroids for girl cat and that was £7.

Popped into Dun Elm for a celebratory 'we are out of the flat' coffee and hot choc £5.50, also picked up a smelly candle 99p and a new drinks bottle for dd £3.99.

Have got dd an appointment at the Drs later just for a check up, she is much better but still very tired which i'm guessing is to be expected but am a seriously paranoid mother now!! Tried to get an appointment for myself but they were all gone, am hoping it won't be a problem to get signed off for this week and next.....

Ememem84 · 29/03/2016 13:24

Frugal win! Arranging travel insurance today and talked the broker down to £45 for the year.

WreckTangled · 29/03/2016 15:25

Nsd. The dc have been playing outside since I got home from work and have come in absolutely freezing! Nachos for dinner mmm

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/03/2016 16:55

Em you reminded me to sort travel insurance out! Went through money supermarket and got insurance for dd and I for £10.50, thought that was pretty reasonable.

Just had the Amazon stuff arrive that i ordered end of last week, very pleased with all the stuff, dd made up with some new films to watch. Her Dr has given her a clean bill of health and said tiredness is to be expected Smile hopefully can start getting back to normal now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/03/2016 16:56

Oh also filled up car with petrol £40.

Cagliostro · 29/03/2016 17:03

What a relief Girlie! Hope you have a nice restful time watching the new DVDs :) it can take a long time to get over the flu at the best of times.

Badders123 · 29/03/2016 17:06

Well
April will be a bit of a nightmare money wise so hoping for some tips!
I started work (very part time) in Jan and for the second month running they have messed my wages up...so I have £0 for April Sad
Have managed to fill the car with petrol and pay off last months overdraft but it leaves me with nothing
I have £40 in my purse for the rest of the Easter hols to take the dc out etc

babsmam · 29/03/2016 17:12

That's good news girlie.
Em be firm over the bathroom. No good having a room you can't use.
Cag yes I do mean advertising your teaching. Good news on more pupils.
wolf hurrah on the student loan paid off.
Collie yy card factory

babsmam · 29/03/2016 17:13

£3.50 on toothbrush and toothpaste

babsmam · 29/03/2016 17:25

20% of at joules, full priced it says WAVES.
Never shopped in joules so no idea but if anyone can use it

Cagliostro · 29/03/2016 17:25

Thanks babs :) I've found some places to advertise, but biding my time with it while all this other stuff is going on IYSWIM :)

babsmam · 29/03/2016 17:26

Ikexactlywym cag x

Cagliostro · 29/03/2016 17:27

:) Thanks

Ememem84 · 29/03/2016 17:32

I will be firm re the bathroom. Money will be better spent this way. More fun to spend on a Holliday to Italy where I can eat my body weight in pasta and deliciousness but more sensible to spend on a bathroom. Especially if we want to move. No one will buy at the price we want with a manky leaky bathroom.

Ememem84 · 29/03/2016 17:33

Will catch up properly later but cag seems sensible to bide your time re finding new pupils, don't take on too much too soon.

wolf congrats re student loan payoff!

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/03/2016 17:54

Wolf Well done. Think what you can do with that extra money.

Girl a Good news.

Cag. Packaged bank accounts! Shockwww.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/reclaim-packaged-bank-accounts. Get the printer out and reclaim those fees. I know it's boring but think of the lovely money coming back to you. I'd complain even if I wasn't mis sold. It's worth a stamp.

Badders They don't sound great, do they realise you have to eat?.

£8 in Tesco but got free daffs & claimed 90p back on shopitize. I bought beef heart. Not a clue what to do with it.

My new zealend heritage cards arrived, entry to all national trust and English heritage for £46. I just need to buy a parking sticker off eBay or I'll get stung for parking charges at some properties.

Cagliostro · 29/03/2016 17:58

Oooh thank you Fluffy I still need to do PPI as well! Blush

Am mega achy right now and have to get up. Ugh. And do dinner. Double ugh.

Badders123 · 29/03/2016 17:58

I'm baffled fluffy and of course no one in the office til 11th April!!
The only thing I can think is that as I am classed as a "casual" worker atm (being put on contract after Easter) that I'm not being paid for school hols?
Also it was a month in arrears - I've worked out I've been paid £18 a week since I started last week of Jan!! Sad
Really hope it all sorts itself out next month!
I can't keep working for such a Pittance!

babsmam · 29/03/2016 18:13

Badder I would be demanding a bacs payment of 70% my pretax wages. They can recalculate at the end of next month. Then again it gives them more things to get wrong so depends who is at fault and how much faith you have in them.
I went through months of wrong wage hell so sympathies to you.

Ememem84 · 29/03/2016 18:24

Today's update from me £0.45p spent on Portuguese hula hoop crisps. Was walking past the Portuguese grocers at lunchtime and wanted crisps or a custard tart

Colleague has resigned and some to my boss earlier about how her cases will be allocated. He told me which ones are coming to me and they're super busy Sad my mouth started talking before I could engage brain and I asked what was in it for me! Apparently in 6 months time they'll review my pay again and will adjust accordingly. So that's ok.
