need I think that's very sensible and then your dh's dividend can be used for big budget items or luxuries

girlie mn seem to have changed the typeface of the forums

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/03/2016 12:46

Just done an online Morrisons shop £50, free delivery mid week now which is a bonus and it tells me I saved £11 on offers! That includes washing powder and loo roll so not too bad....

WreckTangled · 16/03/2016 13:02

That's good going girlie we don't have morrisons around here.

babsmam · 16/03/2016 13:13

Hi job.
I think bonuses are exactly that and shouldn't be relied upon.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 16/03/2016 13:32

Hi all!

Spendy yesterday, £60 in Lidl, and then £60 in Asda. All the weeks groceries, but got DD2 and 3 a book (2 for £7), and ds some lego £5, plus a school cardi, and £10 of stuff for dp business (will pinch back from the till). It seems so long since I got them any little treats, but I felt bad buying things I knew I didn't need!

And then went and forgot the dolce gusto and tins of dog food that I sodding well went to Asda for in the first place!

Must go and get dd3 some school shoes, will go to the clarks outlet (she has nice ordinary shaped feet that fit clarks).

Shifted £3100 (max) onto an 18 month 0% on my existing llloyds cc, so now I have £5400 on 0%, which is the best I can do right now.

em good job you're not pregnant, or the fag smell would be making you heave (glad you said something btw). My sister was telling me that she had come off the pill, but was far to old to fall pg (she was 37 at the timeHmm), and then broke off to loudly complain that someone was smoking nearby. I feel the poor chap having a craft ciggy two floors down and about 50m away from her didn't deserved to be yelled at quite like that, and advised her to poas. My nephew is nearly 6.

girlie they've changed the fonts, I'm finding them hard to read.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/03/2016 14:03

Yeah me to Knitting and Grin at heightened sense of smell, I couldn't go in a supermarket without heaving in the first 3 months as the smells were overwhelming!!

Think will have to get dd some new school shoes, will wait till the Easter hols now. There is outlet village which is really close to where my dad lives so will tie it in with the next wend my dad has dd. I don't know what she does to shoes but they just get trashed Confused wish they would make sturdier girls shoes.

CremeEggThief · 16/03/2016 14:26

Welcome Jobrun.Smile
Sounds like DD is on the mend, Girlie.

£3.68, on sugar, juice and rubber gloves. Debated buying kitchen roll and of course, I've run out after not getting it. I feel stressed without it. It's one of my few absolute must-haves.

CremeEggThief · 16/03/2016 14:31

Ah, I see what you mean about the font now. Had to switch to desktop, as it hasn't changed on the mobile site.

WreckTangled · 16/03/2016 14:41

Supermarket always made me sick too for the first four months. After that I used to make dh walk down the shampoo aisle with me smelling all the shampoos Blush

blueteapot · 16/03/2016 15:10

Welcome jobrun. Maternity leave it what snookered us both times - first time we bought this money pit of a house also so all our savings went up in smoke! With the second both cars needed replaced. Just getting back on our feet now really with saving.

Girlie Grin at your neighbour lol, cheeky sod

Re: bonuses I cant believe people are booking holidays and things expecting them... reminds me of national lampoons xmas vacation where hes building a pool and then the bonuses are cancelled

Wreck thats pants about your wage. I find telephone triage hard enough, it must be near impossible f youre not medically trained!

Need v sensible, I would do the same.

Sat with a coffee and a HM flapjack, was going to hit the shops earlier but reigned myself in as all we really needed was milk and bread. Used an emergency UHT milk lol.

At home with the kids today and we have swept the patio, cleared the drains and in the process of washing the windows / patio. 3 laundry loads drying outdoors. Its a sunny day here might be all the summer we get!!

needastrongone · 16/03/2016 15:14

£26 on chicken feed and horse feed.

My lovely friend with breast cancer was here this morning. She's very much struggling this week, due to her 'helpful' sister giving her the stats about the chances of recurrence within 2 years for her particular form of cancer. They had deliberately tried to keep away from poking too far into the facts and figures, she knows her cancer is highly aggressive. They are both Doctors (friend and DH), so not stupid. Lots of tears this morning.

Creme I rarely buy kitchen roll, funny, isn't it?

OP posts:
CremeEggThief · 16/03/2016 15:22

Oh Need, your poor friend. How insensitive can some people beAngry. I panic when I run out. I'm a bit phobic of cloths and tea towels and won't have them in my kitchen, so I stick to sponges (1 for washing up and 1 for surfaces, changed every few days) and kitchen rol

CremeEggThief · 16/03/2016 15:22

*roll.

WreckTangled · 16/03/2016 15:27

need that's so sad Sad

I always like to have kitchen roll too.

I'm going to London a week tomorrow woo hoo! My friend won't finish work until three but I'm thinking of going up sooner for a mooch....anyone from London?!

It is hard blue, I mean there's always the duty doctor but I don't want to tell the patient they can have an appointment in three hours when it could be a heart attack or tell them to call 999 when its a minor virus Grin

Dd is at art club so I'm just lying on the sofa looking at the washing until I need to pick her up. I was going to do risotto for dinner but dd doesn't like it so I might do bacon and tomato spaghetti instead.

needastrongone · 16/03/2016 15:27

Creme I know, and she's starting to lose her hair, which she is devastated about, poor thing. The chemo is fairly horrific.

I again am the opposite, I must use 5/6 micro fibre cloths a day, and they all get washed every day too Smile

OP posts:
CremeEggThief · 16/03/2016 15:30

Sad. Poor lady, and you too BrewChocolate.

I have got 2 microfibre cloths actually. One is for damp dusting the house and one for the bathroom sink, bath and window sills.

Colliefeatures · 16/03/2016 15:32

need I actually have no words, just a sad face regarding your friend SadFlowers

Um. Well I went a bit crazy in town and spent £40. Oops. Could be worse, I suppose. And I don't do it often. I still have to do the weekly shop but I can't be arsed. I hate it!

lilacclery · 16/03/2016 16:35

My mother loves J-cloths and she could use them for sink, tabletop, floor anything it turns my stomach. I'm a sponge person, and wash or replace regularly. Teatowels get washed so often, must buy more actually because they've gotten a big shabby.
Dh is a bit kitchen towel obsessed, several sheets go in his lunchbox everyday!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/03/2016 16:43

Need bloody cancer Sad found out a friend I worked with when first qualified has breast cancer, she has two young dds both under 5yo and started chemo last week. Is it breast cancer your friend has? I think out of all the cancers that is the one that frightens me the most.

You lot are all very good with your clean cloths and kitchen roll, mine gets washed/ changed when they start looking a bit grubby Blush I do like having kitchen roll though as find it has lots of uses!!

Dd isn't too bad but temp not gone below 37.7 all day, hoping she will be o.kay for school tomorrow as work will not be impressed if I have another day off.

Blue I know right, who does that?? I can't imagine ever being that hard up that I would go round scrounging £3 off the neighbours Grin

Have caught up on a few jobs today though so thats good, I actually got to the bottom of the washing basket Shock

CremeEggThief · 16/03/2016 16:43

I can only touch a j-cloth with my rubber gloves on. Or with a piece of kitchen roll, ha! ha! I have sensory issues around damp things. I have to turn the shower on before I get in and get out before it goes off, stepping on to a dry mat and I can't go swimming, unless I can wear flipflop right to the edge of the pool, for example. Yep, I line my lunchbox with kitchen roll too and I wrap a spoon for yogurt in another piece.

needastrongone · 16/03/2016 16:44

Lila, I meant to say, your suggestion is exactly what we do re DH's dividend. We usually know 9 months into the year how it will play out, and plan a few things round that. Nothing amazing this year, DH wants to spend a little on the horse box and garden, I would like to get our walk in wardrobe fitted out, a bit may go in odds and sods, but the majority will be saved.

OP posts:
babsmam · 16/03/2016 16:47

Oh need that's awful and really not helpful

babsmam · 16/03/2016 16:50

Im with you girlie in the oh that looks like it might need a wash category. I do have kitchen roll to dry fruit and sometimes put on top of my chopped board to save washing up.

CremeEggThief · 16/03/2016 16:55

I do that too, Babs.

Snap with the empty laundry basket, Girlie. It doesn't happen much!

needastrongone · 16/03/2016 16:58

Yep, breast. High grade and aggressive. And crap. Totally crap. I'm sorry about the lady with the young children.
