Evening all!

Knitting I also love new wool, enjoy making the cardi :) I crochet but I havent done any since DD was born, zero motivation at the minute. Sadly my wool stash died when we had mice recently and they pooped in it!

Collie I'm glad you got round the service issue

£70 tesco delivery (includes wine and beer etc). Having a much needed glass of wine after a busy day at work and relaxing on the sofa - exciting friday nights here lol. DH went pillow shopping with DS earlier so I think that was about £30. Poor thing had been putting his pillow out of the bed and lying on a cushion so we decided to replace his and a few of our pillows - the old ones are over full and quite uncomfy, but will do DMs caravan fine so they wont go to waste.

I really should get on with some stuff but I am knackered tonight so wine / sofa it is lol

lilacclery · 04/03/2016 20:48

Wreck not a bad compromise I suppose when are you meant to be getting new car?
Girlie I'm so excited for you & your dd does she know?
Adora love your nails & ems are always great too I've poor nails.
Need the pony stories are brilliant

I survived the week of dropping children to childminders, dh was home one day which saved us €50Smile

Mr T has just delivered, some substitutions but thanks to price match I'm getting more expensive items for same price.

fuzzpig · 04/03/2016 21:12

I LOVE St Dalfour spreads :) they were on offer at Tesco recently. They last so much longer as they're stronger, so worth the higher price like a good cheddar :o

Today:
NSD for me, £4.54 DH co-op

Good grief I am so so looking forward to our little trip away. 10 sleeps :) need to book train tickets and print booking emails, and I think get DS a spare pair of swimming shorts (DD has a few lovely hand me down cossies so she's fine). Planning to be on site most of the time, should be plenty to do but we will take some small games etc. Agreed on giving the DCs a tenner each to last the week for souvenirs/sweets etc.

AdoraBell · 04/03/2016 21:53

St Dalfour is on offer in Sainsbo's atm.

Glad that things are progressing Girlie Grin

I keep for getting To say, that bath is amazing em glad you had such a lovely time Grin

Thanks for saying my nails look nice, I only went in To see if they had navy blue Grin

Ememem84 · 04/03/2016 21:56

Back from leaving do with a box of buffet food. Yum.

Have just checked eBay and someone's bid £70 on my wedding dress SadSmile as a best offer. I think I should accept as want it gone. But. Also am sad to sell. But happy for it to go to someone else iyswim.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 04/03/2016 23:35

whispers dp has fixed the boiler! The house is warm! I get hot water out of the taps. No fumes, no peeping carbon monoxide alarm. Never heard it run so quietly. So £79 on seals and gaskets, instead of a new boiler. If it can last another year that would be excellent. Can almost forgive dp for the no help washing up tantrum last week!

Spent £94.15 in morrisons. So much meat, my freezer has goodies galore.

And £20.45 on a Maccy-D's for tea (for 5 of us). All cash.

lilacclery · 05/03/2016 02:17

That's brilliant knitting
Fuzz I'm as excited about your holiday as if I'm going myself you deserve it
I went out tonight to a cd launch my bil's his daughter wouldn't charge me at the door
I bought a mineral & one west coast cooler & my aunt bought me another mineral it was a lovely night & I drove so clear head in the morning.

I'm after making a kind of major decision, going to only share with you guys because I want to see how I feel again in a few months. I do a second job, it's hard going but I enjoy it. I also work about 47 hours in my regular job. I will make final decision when I've paid back my credit card debt. I think I'm going to give up my second job at end of 2016 Confused without the debt repayments I can definitely live on my wages & have a better quality of life

babsmam · 05/03/2016 07:01

Wreck missed the bit about your car. That's not a bad compromise. Saves you worrying about yours.
That's a big decision lilac you do a self employed class don't you. They sound like lots of work on top of a ft job. However it also sounds like a well planned decision. Good luck.

babsmam · 05/03/2016 07:02

Not sure about today dc want to go to Waterstones with book vouchers which is never a cheap do. There is a Lego exhibition starting today and entry fees apply, will have to look then up.
Mother's day and fil birthday meal tomorrow = eye watering spends

babsmam · 05/03/2016 07:04

Lilac do the have more of a management role you could do and maybe drop some other hours in the week?

Colliefeatures · 05/03/2016 07:39

LSD! It's St Pirans Day and we will celebrate with pasties.

DH bought his Amazon firestick last night - he's wanted it for ages. So that was £35.

We'll be £40 better off next month so it's going straight on the credit card. My mission is to get rid of the credit card ASAP and chop it up. The balance is only £330! But it has to go. Grin

WreckTangled · 05/03/2016 07:40

Food shopping coming later have probably forgotten stuff. Tesco is so bloody expensive compared to lidl but I didn't want to drive the car all the way there and I had a £7 voucher. Just had cinnamon rolls for breakfast mmm

Adora I love your nails too Smile

Ds is so full of cold again full on coughing up phlegm and streaming nose. It seems he's been like this for ever any tips? He already has vitamins.

JeepersMcoy · 05/03/2016 07:52

wreck I often think that time in its self has a value. So making a decision that once debts are paid the value of the time you would free up is worth more than the money from the job is perfectly reasonable. I think people forget that their time is worth something, but when I think of it like that it makes decisions about giving up money easier to make and seem less frivolous. Smile

Ememem84 · 05/03/2016 08:05

adora love the nail colour!!!

collie I love love love pasties. There was a lady on radio 2 last night who was entering the world pastie championships at the Eden project I think today. My kind of world champs!!!

I had a counter offer accepted on my wedding dress. £85. Should cover my signed for postage and the vat I have to pay on all uk post now.

I'll be sad to see it go. But happy someone else wants it. Money made will go to paying off credit card. Smile

Spends today £25 for my riding lesson.

Veggie curry for dinner I think.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/03/2016 08:18

You'll love the BMW, they feel really stuck to the road somehow.

Yesterday was £5 beer, £10 md stuff & £30 fuel.

Just £10 more for m/d but dh will give me half as its his mom.

Banked my £75 cheque from natwest for not applying my mortgage overpayment so that will all go off the cc.

lilacclery · 05/03/2016 08:18

Unfortunately not babs I took on more responsibility a couple of years ago but technically my job didn't change from work specified in my contract, I looked for a pay rise & was turned down as we were getting a blanket one anyhowSad

It is a self employed class which adds 2 hours & 2.5 hours onto two days per week but there is also background preparatory work, a day workshop four times a year when dh is usually working so I end up paying for childminding but earn nothing.

Wreck I love pastry but unfortunately only have to look at them to put on weight!

We also have a trip to bookshop today dd got a €1.50 voucher for WBD

lilacclery · 05/03/2016 08:20

Em you've inspired me to wash my wedding dress today & get it advertised.

needastrongone · 05/03/2016 09:12

Jeepers, that's a hugely insightful post I think. We in this household are terribly guilty of cramming so much in, we forget to just 'be'.

lila Exciting news. Fingers crossed. You must meet yourself coming backwards sometimes.

I don't think I could sell my wedding dress, too much emotional attachment. I do realise this is sentimental clap trap Smile

I have an BMW X3, by far my favourite car. I had one years ago too, then DH got involved in choosing cars for me and we went off on all sorts of makes and models adventures! It's totally solid, I love it. The car previously was a more 'prestigious' make and model, and we sure did get an amazing resale price, but I didn't like it half as much.

Strangely, I loved my little Toyota Yaris that I had when the DC were tiny just as much Smile

needastrongone · 05/03/2016 09:13

Should be an NSD.

SpaceKablooie · 05/03/2016 09:22

Oh, thanks for the tip babs! I used the foaming facial wash last night, and it seemed nice.

It's funny how I'm generally quite frugal in everyday life, but I hadn't really considering trying an alternative to the Simple skincare products that I use. I'm sure there must be other things like this (and therefore other savings to be made Smile).

Ememem84 · 05/03/2016 09:27

need strangely I thought I'd agree with you re the wedding dress. But. I hadn't looked at it for 4 years since we got married. And only had it cleaned so I could sell it a few months ago.

It's lovely. But I have no use for it. And it's taking up room in the wardrobe.

So it's going. I'll probably cry at the post office sending it off

Just had bacon sandwiches and tea. Grin

babsmam · 05/03/2016 09:59

Ah that's a shame lilac.
My wedding dress has been in storage for nearly 12 years. Suppose I should get around to doing something with it. It's not white enough for a communion dress to be made out of it. There is a charity near here that makes burial dresses for premi and cot deaths. I might donate it instead.

fuzzpig · 05/03/2016 10:00

Wreck I read recently that pineapple juice is really good for phlegm. Confused

I'm not sure if we are going to spend the WBD tokens, normally we do but things are a bit different now that we're home ed, they get a lot more books generally! :o If only we could spend them on Amazon. I always wince at paying full price in Waterstones, even with £1 off it's still expensive Blush

babsmam · 05/03/2016 10:15

Yes Waterstones is. They promised they had plenty of the £1 ones so will steer the dc toward them

fuzzpig · 05/03/2016 10:31

Yes we've got them sometimes, they end up getting chucked away quite soon though Blush (other than a Worst Witch activity book which was quite good)

The lady who ran the Usborne book sale is accepting them so might have a look there, although I'd have to pay postage anyway.
