Mobile phone contract help

I have a contract with EE that finishes Jan 15th, I have found a deal online still with EE but through affordable mobile.co.uk 5gb of data rather than the 2gb i get now for £8 cheaper than i pay now. EE wont offer me this deal despite it still being with them so would i need to buy the new deal and then cancel my current contract, never done it before and dont really understand what i would need to do, any help appreciated.

Surrely once your contract ends you are no longer in a contract and can cease it immediately making you free to take up a new contract with anyone you choose

You'll need to ring them and ask how to cancel.

Mobile.co.uk might have cashback on quidco or topcashback.

Thanks I'll have a look that's going to be my task for tomorrow I think. Might try to get ee to match it but don't hold out much hope even though it is still with them.
