Haven't been on the old thread for a few days so thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly full.

Sounds like a plan ipsos, I like the colour for the walls, and the warmth of the colour from the piano will work well I think. Ignore Christmas!

needastrongone · 12/12/2015 22:24

The carpet will be practical too in that colour.

ipsos · 12/12/2015 22:35

Good stuff. I think "ignore Christmas" is the answer.

It seems that homebase may have f&b paint so I will hopefully go and get some, and some woodfiller tomorrow, and then I can regale you all with my housepainting progress for the whole of the next fortnight.

I've already sanded one and half door frames, and it went quite well. :-)

I hope your dh is enjoying his travels need and that you all are having a decent time there with the weather and everything else.

babsmam · 12/12/2015 22:35

It is crazy busy Ipsos and everyone is a bit shattered.
Good news about the bank refund. Maybe allocate some for a treat and save the rest?
That will look lovely Ipsos

Ememem84 · 12/12/2015 23:11

Just got in from lovely evening out. French friends invited me to share traditional melted cheese raclette supper burp am now basically 90% melted cheese having eaten my own body weight and then some in delicious goodness.

J'aime raclette. Vive la france!

also had wine. Bit tipsy

AdoraBell · 12/12/2015 23:27

Mild and windy here today, rained yesterday. House feels freezing cold though so heating has been in use for some weeks.

Xmas Envy at reindeer feeding

Ipsos hall defo worth the money, and my card needs impounding with your's.

I've ordered a dress, 2 sizes as not sure so 1 will go back and I'm counting it as just one, and 3 pairs of shoes/boots from Shoeaholics Xmas Blush one pair may well go back. So that is £43 on dress and £129 on footwear. Also used £24 worth of Nectar points on extras for Christmas but I am not counting that as money spent.

I have decided that from January I am going to donate to the Trussel Trust, they have a DD form on their website. I haven't seen anywhere here to drop items off and I find it frustrating.

Girlfriend36 · 13/12/2015 00:29

hello all, so I have just climbed back into bed after dd pretty spectacularly threw up all over it! Have had to strip the bed right back to the actual foam, (isn't it amazing how sick seems to soak through everything ) have even had to rinse my duvet so am now going to be sleeping in a sleeping bag!

So thats tomos written off and now will have to wait and see if I get it - oh joy!

Ipsos hope you are o.kay, my dd still believes and she is nearly 10! Have never got into asking Father Christmas for things though as he only gives small gifts in our house Wink if she wants something specific she knows it will come from me iyswim.

It is a hectic time of year and think lots of people struggle with the change in routine but agree with try and enjoy it as the kids do grow up very quickly.

ipsos · 13/12/2015 01:18

Sorry to hear about DD Girlie. No the best end to the day. Hope it gets better.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/12/2015 06:51

Oh no girlie! Better now than at Christmas though.

Pointlessfan · 13/12/2015 07:03

Oh no girlie! Hope she gets better quickly.
Great news on your bank charges MrsR.
I did not sleep well last night, feeling bit tired and grumpy now. Going to 2 yr old birthday party later, think it might actually be NSD, hooray!

colliepirate · 13/12/2015 07:20

Oh girlie hope she's much better soon. And I hope you don't it either.

We are going on a random road trip today! Only a 200 mile round journey. Xmas Grin so excited. Love Dartmoor!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/12/2015 07:29

Sounds fun collie!

I need to get dd some hydrocortisone cream for her eczema and it's easier to buy it than try to find a convenient Drs appt next week. Have also just bought train tickets for Friday that was £35.60 for both of us.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 13/12/2015 07:54

sending non-vomity vibes!

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/12/2015 08:28

Ipsos

Ring them first, they stock a very limited range. You'll need to undercoat with cheap white paint first or that plaster will soak up coat after coat before it covers evenly.

Our lounge took 3 coats with a non vinyl undercoat, kitchen took 2 when I painted it white first.

Ememem84 · 13/12/2015 08:30

Hope dd feels better girlie

We're cooking Sunday dinner today for parents. So need to get veggies. I already have a chicken for roasting.

Still feel full of cheese. Can barely move. So won't be going to the gym today...

SpottyTeacakes · 13/12/2015 08:50

£50 tickets for the shard. Should note that mil has given us £100 so train tickets and shard have come out of that Smile

Girlfriend36 · 13/12/2015 10:05

Thanks guys, she seems much brighter this morning but still refusing to eat anything so will see how she goes. Have about 1000 loads of washing to do though slight exaggeration my mum has kindly offered to take some it back to hers to dry!

Does mean will be a NSD and can finish off writing Christmas cards and start wrapping presents, have already bleached the bathroom this morning and washing machine is on its second run!

Collie i love Dartmoor as well - enjoy!

Ememem84 · 13/12/2015 10:20

collie enjoy. I love Dartmoor. watch out for rogue sheep

ipsos · 13/12/2015 12:00

Well done on the bleaching Girlie.

Thanks for the word about the painting Fluffy. I noticed that my test patch came out all weird and that it used up epic amounts of paint. I'll make sure to get that right then.

Pointlessfan · 13/12/2015 12:32

Just been looking at YNAB, it looks really good and I know some of you swear by it. Thinking of starting it after Xmas. How much is it once the free trial has finished?

Whataboutreindeer · 13/12/2015 12:43

Cheese and shard sound awesome, sick not so much.

We went and did a Santa run this morning, we've raised money for local charities but parked for free and spent no money there so NSD for us so far! Nice anonymous picture of us all!

O come all ye festive frugaleers, gather round for festive chat and frugaleering
ipsos · 13/12/2015 12:56

Lovely photo! Well done on the run.

We had a church nativity play this morning and that was good too. :-)

Whataboutreindeer · 13/12/2015 12:58

That sounds lovely ipsos!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/12/2015 13:14

I love your Santa shits what GrinWink

Dh is washing the car and the dc and neighbours dc are in our garden. Dd has just got in a huff because I said one of them wasn't allowed in to use the loo Hmm

ipsos · 13/12/2015 13:16

My Amazon Christmas orders have got very confused indeed. They sent me something that I hadn't ordered, and I have returned it, but one of the items that I did order, and have received, now says online that they think I requested to return it, which I didn't. The also say they've delivered a book that they haven't, and that they haven't delivered a book that they have. How confusing must it be to be in Amazon just now? I'm just going to keep quiet about it. I imagine it will all even out in the wash.
