Haven't been on the old thread for a few days so thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly full.

Merry frugal Christmas! It was a NSD bit then I checked the paper chase sale and it was on so £33 spent. That's 15 rolls of wrap plus cards and a pack of baubles. I do it every year and the paper is such good quality it's worth it to me.

AdoraBell · 24/12/2015 22:21

Merry Christmas everyone

SpottyTeacakes · 25/12/2015 20:49

Nsd Grin dh is thanking you all for making us get a dishwasher Wink it's on for the second time today. Our m&s dinner was delicious and I've eaten my body weight in cheese.

Whataboutreindeer · 25/12/2015 20:52

I haven't cracked into the cheese! I have to say I felt very happy when people unwrapped their gifts that I had got things for a reasonable price. I have spent way too much this week but now Christmas is out the way spending wise I can focus it back in.

CremeEggThief · 25/12/2015 20:56

I'm too lazy to get up and get some cheese and crackers... Never mind, there's always tomorrow.

Ememem84 · 25/12/2015 21:15

Nsd. I've eaten everything. I don't even eat cheese normally apart from cheddar and have demolished a cheeseboard.

Home now. Thoroughly spoiled. Lovely really thoughtful gifts. Happy happy happy.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/12/2015 21:19

I'm in bed now. I feel so much happier this year having not spent a fortune on toys and stuff just for the sake of it. Stockings were things I knew they'd really like, no tat. My family are great too. They were so pleased with what they got and had a lovely day playing with their cousins. Poor ds is pretty poorly though. Under is eye is all puffy and red, I assume to connections and he's been sick a few times from his cough!

Anyway enough of my rambling. Looking forward to a day of doing nothing but eating left overs tomorrow! Turkey curry anyone?

Ememem84 · 25/12/2015 21:27

spotty The only thing I'm sad about is that we were at mums for Christmas and now have no leftovers for tomorrow!!!!

colliepirate · 25/12/2015 22:01

NSD. But we do have food poisoning thanks to The National Trust yesterday. Xmas Sad tempted to ask them for a refund on what we bought in the cafe but doubt they'd care.

We're feeling a bit better tonight though. Still had a lovely day.

We also had a no tat rule and we aren't overwhelmed by packaging this year. Amazing! Xmas Smile

Pointlessfan · 25/12/2015 22:38

Sorry to hear that collie, hope you are better soon.
Hope everyone had a lovely day.

Whataboutreindeer · 25/12/2015 23:27

Spotty and Collie boo!! I'd inform the NT if you are fairly sure it was food poisoning from them. Yuck. And coughing to sickness is awful. Gabriel was rough overnight with his bronchiolitis so I feel your pain.

babsmam · 26/12/2015 07:03

Hope you are feeling better collie and spotty family.
Nsd as off for Christmas round 2

SpottyTeacakes · 26/12/2015 07:15

Oh collie poor you I would definitely tell them as they have to report it.

Had a nice lay in today, for us anyway!

I'm trying to resist even looking at the sales as I don't really have any money. Christmas money will be going on house things.

lilacclery · 26/12/2015 08:09

Morning all, had a fabulous Christmas Day with my family yesterday, dh finally made it up to my parents at 6.30am Christmas money & dd woke at 6.45am! Ds got up at 7.15am. We had a lovely day & I'm so glad we came up to my mothers. Today will be spent with my stepson his wife & 2 children some of my favourite people in the world.

I'm twitching though for the sales as dh gave me some money as part of my present yesterday. I want a refillable wooden advent calendar but not at that price!

Got a couple of fab bargains in primark on Christmas Eve 50 Christmas tree decorations for my friend €1 & an 11 piece duplo type train for ds €1.

Also twitched & bought dh stuff in lifestyle 2 adidas hoodies & a county top too, glad I did, he bought me two sets of concert tickets & gave me €100 towards sales! Had cash from Christmas gifts so no credit cards spends.

Dd's favourite Christmas present an elsa dress which cost €8.71 on aliexpress.com not the €30 one she admired in primark but even nicer!

Hope everyone enjoys Boxing Day!

colliepirate · 26/12/2015 08:17

Thanks everyone :) have emailed them. We'll see what they say. Anyway - we are much better today.

Hope the frugaleers little'uns start feeling better soon.

NSD today! :)

Ememem84 · 26/12/2015 08:22

Nsd today for me. Have come down with a cold although fm told everyone I have flu so I'm staying in and watching tv. Doctor who, downton and Agatha Christie later.

We're meant to have friends pop in with their little one for cup of tea and cake. Think that's still happening as little one has a cold as well so no germs to be shared.

Hope everyone feels better! X

Whataboutreindeer · 26/12/2015 08:43

We are off to my mums today. It's only an hour away but we'll stay over as an adventure for the kids and it's tradition. No spending planned. Yesterday DH had to go out and buy milk so it wasn't a NSD in the end!

Pointlessfan · 26/12/2015 08:44

Today should be NSD, plan is to eat leftovers and chocolate, play with DD's new toys and watch tv. I love Boxing Day!

Ipsos · 26/12/2015 10:25

Glad to hear eveyone had a nice Christmas and sorry to hear about the bugs. Ds has a bad cold but is enjoying his presents very much. My second Christmas cake went well and was devoured at Church after a 90 minute long service which left everyone properly hungry. Smile It was a good to see everybody on Christmas day, and then we had a quiet day at home, just the three of us. Very nice.
