Haven't been on the old thread for a few days so thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly full.

I wondered what a foresaw was. I had decided it was either a typo for coleslaw or some kind of hand saw Grin

Ursulatodd · 22/12/2015 20:50

£15 coleslaw??!!!! Wink

Ememem84 · 22/12/2015 21:06

Haha!!! I've wrapped a few presents now. And they're under the tree. It looks lovely.

lilacclery · 23/12/2015 05:09

Finished my second job last night for this year ran my two classes one after the other instead of two different nights so treated myself to Chinese €8.20 it was 9.30pm and I'd been up since 5amSmile guys at work have been generous with Christmas present too received €400 yesterday & will possibly get more todayGrin

Hope baby pointless slept the whole night through

I've my Christmas party today & going to work dressed for it at 7am so I'm pondering what to wear nowHmm

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2015 06:11

I'm going to town to collect my food order this morning. I'm hoping it won't be too busy Hmm I'm going for 8:30 and most shops won't even be open by then, right?! I also need more foundation as I've run out.

Ememem84 · 23/12/2015 07:18

should be nsd today. Bank accounts are looking fairly healthy.

This is strange for me. Usually I'm broke right before Christmas. But because I took advice and started shopping early, thought about what I was buying and stuck to my budget I've still got cash in my account.

Smile

Dress down today apparently all this week but I missed the email so am comfy in jeans, and my Christmas rabbit jumper.

Pointlessfan · 23/12/2015 07:21

DD woke up at 10. Ir took 3 hours to get her back to sleep and that was only because DH slept on the floor in her room.
He's picking up Xmas meat from butcher today, otherwise shouldn't need to spend any more money.

Ipsos · 23/12/2015 07:27

That's amazing that you've never had sleep trouble with dd before pointless. You wouldn't believe the endless nightmare of sleep related crap trouble we've had.

In your shoes I would just co-sleep for a few days until she calms down, but I am not the role model that you want, so I'm inclined to stay out of it.

Ememem84 · 23/12/2015 07:51

Oh pointless poor you. Could is just be that dd is excited about Christmas long shot and I don't have kids

I hope it works itself out though, it can't be fun for you both (well all 3 of you I suppose).

You mentioned up thread I think you were buying a night light. Did this help at all?

Pointlessfan · 23/12/2015 07:54

I know we've been really spoilt up until now. Why did she chose sodding xmas???
From watching her last night I think there are 2 problems - she is very itchy (she gets eczema) and she has outgrown her cot. Just looking at toddler beds online and wondering if we can get one today. So much for an inexpensive day!

Ipsos · 23/12/2015 08:00

Good idea on the cot. That might really motivate her. :-)

Whataboutreindeer · 23/12/2015 08:13

Pointless can you get to an IKEA? We went straight to single bed but they do ones that grow with your child. Hope sleep improves. We've been very lucky with sleep bar the odd night and it's such a shock when they don't sleep! We had one night a few weeks ago where Wilf just wouldn't fall asleep. I was up and down like a loon to try and settle him. No reason for it that I could find.

Spent £300 on the next sale. Some will go back probably but I have got tonnes for the boys. They are born at opposite times of the year so Gabriel will have no summer clothes in the right size next year, otherwise I wouldn't buy him anything as I save everything to hand down. Buying in next and gap sales means they easily last two children and I'll use them a third time or sell them on.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/12/2015 08:25

Does pointless baby have piriton syrup for itching? You can use piriton for eczema itching iirc.

It's non drowsy though, mores the pity.

It's really mild and our duvet is too warm, we slept with the ceiling fan on last night. Is her duvet too warm and it sets off her itching?.

Synthetic nightwear and creams with mineral/petroleum jelly make me too warm at night.

Babies have more insulating brown fat than us too.

colliepirate · 23/12/2015 08:37

pointless we've recently had a few nights just as you describe. We also had no sleep trouble beforehand. But it was just a phase and DS went back to sleeping all night again. It was so stressful & exhausting!

His cries sounded like night terrors but there was no way of knowing. Xmas Sad

Anyway, NSD today

Pointlessfan · 23/12/2015 08:37

I was just sending DH out to get some piriton, was hoping it would make her drowsy too!
Just ordered Ikea bed, it arrives in a week, haven't got time to get there any sooner unfortunately.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2015 09:10

Good call pointless. Remember it's just a phase. I tend to find it never lasts long, even though it feels like it's been going on forever!

£70 m&s Christmas food
£55 petrol
£14 Costa

Just need to get foundation and a back windscreen wiper phew!

Pointlessfan · 23/12/2015 09:19

Thanks spotty, I think I'd be coping better if it wasn't Xmas. DH only has this week off and we'd looked forward to it for ages but have spent every night so far in separate rooms taking it in turns to sleep! Haven't had any Xmas drinks or anything yet.
Will try to stop moaning, sorry.

Ipsos · 23/12/2015 10:12

Pointless if you have space you can put two mattresses together and camp out as a family with dd between you.

babsmam · 23/12/2015 10:45

I was going to suggest mattresses on the floor, not ideal but only for a bit.

Very brave DS had his tooth out. Super proud

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2015 12:01

£70 in joules BlushBlushBlush

Ipsos · 23/12/2015 12:06

Well done babs ds. Smile. How old is he again?

Pointlessfan · 23/12/2015 12:10

What did you buy spotty? They have some lovely scarves at the moment, I almost succumbed last week!
Well done babs' DS.
DD screamed again at nap time but settled quite quickly once I went in. She's exhausted, bless her. Have got Boots own brand piriton for her itching, will see if it helps tonight.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2015 13:50

Babs poor ds he sounds very brave

Pointless I got dd two tops, a jumper and a dress, gloves for ds which dd saw and wanted to give him for Christmas and another present for my friends baby Blush

Ipsos · 23/12/2015 14:24

I've checked and I still can't find anything that I want to buy in the Next sale. I'm quite relieved really. Nice to know that my frugal tendencies are still there after this season of goodwill and outrageous over-spending.

babsmam · 23/12/2015 15:56

He is 6 ipsos. Boast alert!!!! The dentist said he handled it better than most other 6 year olds. [Proud]
