Haven't been on the old thread for a few days so thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly full.

Well done BabsDS! My Ds needs a filling and they're putting it off until he'd ready. He's five and half.

CremeEggThief · 23/12/2015 16:21

He really is a trooper, Babs.

DS and I walked to the naice cafe in the next village for a lovely lunch (£17.80) and also picked up a couple of things in the Co-op (£5.14). Then we walked back, so about 3.5 miles in total, which is about my limit now. It was a beautiful, chilly day out, so worth it.

Ipsos · 23/12/2015 16:32

I just made the Christmas cake and it's in the oven (exciting!) having also been sensible and had an hour and a half off to rest earlier. (check it out.)

Girlfriend36 · 23/12/2015 16:53

Hi all just catching up Xmas Smile

Been working again today but feeling excited about having tomos off! Have managed a NSD today and have been paid plus just seen that a top I had sent back for dd has been credited so all good.

Going ice skating tomos and going to check out where we can go to sing some carols!

northender · 23/12/2015 16:55

Sorry you're having a hard time pointless and when your dh is off too. Fine to moan here, we all have our moments (well I do anyway!)
Just had an online chat with Amazon about a dvd I ordered which shows as having arrived with the "carrier" at 2230 on Saturday night but still hasn't arrived, despite being on a next day delivery with my free Prime trial. I've been promised it will arrive tomorrow and they've extended our Prime trial for an extra month into February.
Have also tweeted Jd sports after dh queued for 20 minutes to be told they had run out of gift cards! How hard is it to keep stocked up with gift cards in Christmas week?

Well done on the rest ipsos and the Christmas cake, babsmam what a star your ds was, dental work isn't nice at that age.

babsmam · 23/12/2015 17:21

Oh I bet your house smells gorgeous ipsos. I don't like Christmas cake but love the smell of it cooking.
£20 odd in home bargains on a brave boy present.
Waiting for my food shop which is about £90 but no more shops until January except butchers tomorrow.
Will think about 2016 when I have my new diary.
Wandered around a furniture shop today and have my eye on a new dining suite but it's £1300

needastrongone · 23/12/2015 18:09

Evening.

Just checking in after working all day, then collecting my food from M&S, unpacking Morrisons order, 3 loads of washing, mopped floors, making lasagne, made chicken stock, vacuumed, and done my internet banking.

pointless, sorry your DD is unsettled. No answers I am afraid other than she's a little young for night terrors. And, having had DS go through night terrors, there's no mistaking night terrors! It's a dreadful experience, but you can't mistake it for anything else, they are utterly and totally petrified beyond belief, look wide awake, talk to you but don't acknowledge you, scream in pure terror on and on and on, and I am definitely not one for painting a story that isn't there. Hope the Piriton works.

Good for your brave DS babs, not a nice experience at any age, especially when young.

Picked up my M&S order today but forgot to take my vouchers. It's as broad as it's long, as I will spend them another time.

In addition to usual savings, we've managed to save another £250 this month.

Ememem84 · 23/12/2015 18:13

£20 on qi board game. £2 on glass bottles to decant my sloe gin and £18 on wine for my team.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2015 18:15

I used to get night terrors and sleep paralysis. Still get it very occasionally. It was horrendous as a teen

babsmam · 23/12/2015 18:31

Blimey need that's a lot.
Sainsburys arrived early and the driver was fab. 2 subs but both fine

colliepirate · 23/12/2015 18:48

NSD but we need new nappies and milk tomorrow.

needastrongone · 23/12/2015 19:04

Lovely DH has bought flowers, and is now out delivering pressies. He is worse at doing nothing than I amSmile

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2015 19:09

Stuff the flowers I want your house Envy

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/12/2015 19:16

£52.50 on the cattery. They really seem to like the cat.

Well done to Babs Ds. Treatments not nice but you just gotta battle on.

I really want a tumble dryer in the sales but I think I'm going to have to wait a bit longer.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/12/2015 19:19

Grin Spotty.

It looks gorgeous Need. Nice to see marble that isn't black. Very stylish.

babsmam · 23/12/2015 19:21

Xmas Grin spotty
Lovely flowers (and house shot) need

Ipsos · 23/12/2015 19:31

I'm with you there spotty. Smile

Hang in there need. Good idea to be busy. Maybe keep a fire extinguisher handy in case one of you moves so fast that the carpet catches fire.

Oooo Fluffy. It's a tricky one isn't it?

I burned my Christmas cake quite comprehensively, but Ds and Dh are happy as that means I can't take it to Church on Christmas morning, and sadly they will have to eat it all themselves. Swings and roundabouts.

I'm freakishly happy about my new wooden hall floor. I keep leaving the lights on so I can see as soon as I walk that way, without having to turn on the lights. HappyIpsos.

Ursulatodd · 23/12/2015 19:37

Lovely flowers, lovely dh and lovely house need!!

Spotty I had sleep paralysis twice when DD was tiny (apparently it's exacerbated by exhaustion). It is one of the scariest things I've ever experienced Sad

Have now left the building work behind and are at my parent's for four nights. G&T in hand Grin

Allgunsblazing · 23/12/2015 19:44

£100.04 in Lidl today. Out of which, £20-ish on Prosecco, £20 ish on cheese, £10 ish on aperitives. The rest is fruit, veg, some yoghurt, flour, normal shop.
I am looking forward to tomorrow ( I celebrate christmas eve). I am at work till 6, but I am hoping to be able to leave earlier.
I need petrol, but apart from that, I should be ok till january :)

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2015 19:46

It was horrible. I always 'dreamt' there was someone in my room and I couldn't move, each time I tried to scream I either couldn't breathe or no scream would come out!

I did something 'big' for me earlier. Dh's family are awful for saying they'll come round and not giving a time. His aunt phones earlier (dh was at work) and said she would pop round this afternoon and rather than just saying ok I said what sort of time? It threw her a bit as she said er umm welll etc but I felt much better knowing a rough time Smile

Bad luck on the cake ipsos, for the church anyway Wink

Fluffy I love my tumble drier. Thanks to you lot I now hang what I can but still use the drier for underwear, bedding and towels.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/12/2015 19:47

Ipsos

Very easily done. I'd love to have a hard floor. Is yours warm to walk on?.

We had it years ago but the house was permenantly polar and it was freezing to walk on.

needastrongone · 23/12/2015 20:07

Oh, that's a shame about the cake ipsos, can you save any of it? I have never even tried to bake one, so fair play to you.

fluffy I don't know about ipsos, but I am sat downstairs now with a large glass of wine, bare feet, and not cold at all. I don't find hard floors cold at all and I am a VERY cold individual, promise. I love the grey granite, it's incredibly forgiving of crumbs etc, unlike the black

spotty I agree, it's hard not knowing a time, you don't even know if you can start anything or do stuff, good for you.

Can anyone even see my house lol? I hadn't thought so! But thank you Smile I have mentioned before, it was our One Big Move!!

needastrongone · 23/12/2015 20:12

spotty DS's night terrors were dreadful to watch. He used to scream in pure terror and try to shield himself from things flying at him, arms flaying around, eyes wide open and talking to you, but not making sense. Could go on for 20/25 minutes. He used to come downstairs next day and not remember a thing, we would be shaken up!

Pointlessfan · 23/12/2015 20:22

No it's definitely not night terrors, that sounds horrific.
Sat in her room until she fell asleep, which she has. For now.
Thanks for all the advice and kind words today.
