Haven't been on the old thread for a few days so thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly full.

£10 cinema tickets for Christmas Eve.

colliepirate · 16/12/2015 19:05

DH said he put dinner I'm the oven. A yummy homemade pasta bake. It takes 50ish minutes to cook. He said he put the oven on at 6pm. The oven has officially been on for a whole hour for no reason as he forgot to put the pasta bake in. Idiot!

How much does it cost per hour to run an electric oven at 220c?

I'm actually more annoyed than I should be. Xmas Blush

colliepirate · 16/12/2015 19:06

In the oven*

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 19:12

Oh no collie! Ours was about 60p an hour I think.

My sugar level was just 1.9 and I've only got the yellow and green ones left in my wine gums Sad

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 19:12

It would have been about 15p an hour Collie. My dh does that sometimes too. It's because he likes to pre-heat the oven and then he forgets to put the food in. I just shove it in and turn the oven on and that way at least I know it's in there. Smile On the plus side, all the wasted heat is heating your house, so it's not totally lost.

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 19:13

That's a whole different kind of problem Spotty. Are yellow and green not the good ones?

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 19:14

Oh maybe ipsos is right don't listen to me. Dh pre heats the oven too but I'm another who just shoves it in

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 19:14

No they're yuck Grin

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 19:14

I'm feeling nostalgic for my Paris childhood and listening to french songs on Youtube. It's kind of cosy. :-)

Girlfriend36 · 16/12/2015 19:15

Agree re Primark for pjs and onesies actually Fuzz that is the only thing I have found for dd in there! They do some nice adult pjs as well. Agree re girls clothes being tricky, I don't like stuff with slogans or that I deem to be 'too old' for her and then dd is herself very fussy in that clothes have to be really comfortable and she doesn't like dresses or skirts!!

Thats part of the reason that I get the odd Boden item, I always wait till the sales and they send me a voucher or offer. Also find their clothes sell on really well.

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 19:16

The reason for the nostalgia is that I was trying to look online to see what colours other people have painted their walls to go with oak floors and I remembered the hall of mirrors in Versailles. Those people really liked to go to town on their gold leaf didn't they? I don't think we're going to gold leaf the walls of our hall.

Girlfriend36 · 16/12/2015 19:17

Eek Spotty thats way too low - are you not feeling a bit faint?! You should keep some glucotabs in for hypos, will they give them to you on prescription?

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 19:22

I find with glucotabs I need too many of them so wine gums it is. I was feeling like it was low but not that low! It's my fault for misjudging my dinner. My hypo awareness is reducing a bit but I think that's because my control is tightening. It's a minefield really Confused

colliepirate · 16/12/2015 19:24

We usually just shove it in. But he just forgot to put anything in at all. So weird! Glad its just 15p ish. I imagined he had wasted pounds. Xmas Grin

Ememem84 · 16/12/2015 19:30

ipsos I'm admin. Private family trusts.

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 19:36

That sounds good em. I switched from academic track to technical staff as a scientist and it was the best thing I ever did. Much better work life balance and better pay, weirdly.

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 19:37

I want wine gums too now spotty. Hope you found something nicer to eat.

Girlfriend36 · 16/12/2015 19:37

Yeah i can imagine Spotty diabetes is a rubbish thing to have really, have you had some milk and toast or something as well?

Pointlessfan · 16/12/2015 19:39

Bit of a spendy day but Xmas shopping is done apart from food/drink. Hooray!

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 19:52

I ate loads Blush

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 19:59

Good stuff.

babsmam · 16/12/2015 20:01

Take care there spotty.
5.25 on tea and treated DS to MacDonald for another fiver as forgot DD was out.

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 20:09

I've messed up my grocery shopping a bit this week. I booked all my December deliveries in advance at the beginning of the month and I had to put £40 worth of food on each one to get the slot. Then I went back to put the rest in the order last week but accidentally duplicated a lot of things, so now the kitchen is full of potatoes and ready brek and things. I'm trying to run it all down again before the Christmas week so I can see what I'm going again. Ooops.

Ememem84 · 16/12/2015 20:18

Have just won £10 on lottery scratchy. It's our big Christmas lottery tomorrow. Top prize is £1.08 million.

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 20:19

Good stuff. Do you play the lottery often then?
