New Fred, hope I've done it right I've never done one before.

Yay em! Well done. :) Star

Collie really pleased you've got an all clear :) and euwww at 10 days past UBD Shock there's no excuse for that.

DD had another ballroom lesson today, it was £5 which is pretty damn good for a 30min private lesson! She's going to do that for a while so she can 'catch up' with the group class, and then once she's ready go in with them it'll be a monthly direct debit instead. I'm happy she's enjoying it so much. :)

ipsos · 28/11/2015 11:52

Pointless we always break a match in that situation, on the grounds that accidents generally come in threes. The monitor should be okay if the router is just on the other side of a wall. Sounds perfect.

Em I would definitely say that the withdrawal of the adrenaline causes the body to go a bit wonky. It always does that to me after exams. Interesting to know that alcohol doesn't help. I always wondered, as I'm a non-drinker.

Ememem84 · 28/11/2015 12:18

No. Alcohol doesn't help ipsos true story.

I am near death living proof that it doesn't help. Eugh.

But I'm out of bed. Showered and dressed.

ipsos · 28/11/2015 12:24

You have no idea what a weight that is off my mind Em. I've done more exams than it right or decent, and I've never once made it to the after-exam party. The adrenaline crash hits me earlier then everyone else, when they are already blind drunk. I hope the hangover wears off soon for you.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/11/2015 16:12

Congratulations Em. It's worth doing so you can put it on your CV, a Law degree always looks good.

£32.65 on food in aldi
£5 on loo roll, sc fudge ingredients and bubble bath in aldi
£1.80 on dolmio and ranitidine in homebargains
£5 in morrisons on food and £4 on a Schweppes drink but quidco will give me £4.52 back on that so I'm not counting it.

Spent £7.50 on mcdonalds yesterday and £2 on work stuff.

Fudge is in the slowcooker, it's not an exciting process if I'm honest. I'm allergic to milk so I'll have to rely on dh's opinion of it.

AdoraBell · 28/11/2015 17:00

We are Creme, this time only 2 miles though. The house we are in served a purpose, getting out of Chile and getting DDs in the school, but it isn't big enough because the agent's measurements where so far out.

The house is Chile is now sold and funds recieved this week, so that's a huge relief. The current economic climate over there means it sold far below it's former value, but it's sold at last. DH will now rent until his business is sorted.

Spent £25 on Xmas gift, £24 on replacement coat, £4 on snacks. No school shoes, nothing left in her size. Couldn't find any drain clear so still need to get that.

I am going to get a delivery close to Christmas and get the last minute bits in store. Plus I order non perishable bits in advance, just not the nibblesGrin I had GF sage and onion stuffing delivered this week and have ordered GF mince pies for next week. Will also get GF sausages from the butcher for pigs in blankets. The Christmas puddings and ingredients for flourless brownies are alteady bought. Oh, I also bought a six month delivery pass for £9 yesterday.

Colliejollychristmas · 28/11/2015 17:03

NSD today. The weather is horrible.

Interesting to find out about slow cooked fudge!

Unescorted · 28/11/2015 17:10

Fluffy sorry I ran away mid teepee. It does have a flue but I am getting a carbon monoxide monitor just incase.

I'm being v. rude. It is mil birthday and I am sat on my phone. My excuse is that they are watching the tennis. Not my favourite sport.

CremeEggThief · 28/11/2015 17:29

Good luck with it all, Adora Smile.

£50 to the handyman today, on lots of niggling little jobs, and £1 on Hob nobs in the local shop. I'm not really a biscuit fan, but I make an exception for Hob nobs!

ipsos · 28/11/2015 18:51

I just did my last tesco order of November. Christmas is on the way. :-)

I spent the last couple of hours tearing up the kitchen vinyl so the man can "screed" the floor and lay the new one on Tuesday and Wednesday. He left a little sample of the new colour and I am giving it a good looking at. I also painted squares of all my old Little Greene tester pots in the hall, and am giving them a good looking at too. Much colour thinking.

Pointlessfan · 28/11/2015 19:03

Did well in Poundland today, bought toothpaste and then got 110 Finish dishwasher tablets for £8, they were on offer if you spent a pound.
Also got some books in the charity shop for £1 each. One is a biography for my mum, do you think I can give it to her for Xmas. It is in very good condition but obviously second-hand. I have got her 2 small items already so it wouldn't be her main gift. Would you be offended to receive a second hand item as a gift?

ipsos · 28/11/2015 19:13

We often have secondhand books as gifts pointless. But our whole family is constitutionally tight-fisted

needastrongone · 28/11/2015 19:42

Evening. Been out pony training all day, shattered.com.

pointless Wouldn't offend me at all.

How did DH find the fudge fluffy?

em Had many a hungover morning such as that, well done on getting the exams done.

Bad - ordered a takeaway, we are so tired. We too were out until late last night.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/11/2015 20:44

He likes it but wants it covered in choc because it's sticky. I had some and it tastes like mars bars.

There's a recipe with icing sugar but can I find it? nope, not a chance.

Enjoy your takeaway.

Ememem84 · 28/11/2015 21:21

Cinema "date" tonight with dh and dad. Spends £30 (£22 cinema tickets and £8 popcorn and a drink). Saw spectre. Enjoyed it. Good film. But in my opinion not a great bond film.

Do want to go to Mexico now though...

Dad then took us out for dinner. To my favourite cute Italian place. Best pasta on the island. It's been going for years. Menu has never changed. Staf have never changed. Same decor. Great food. Cheap cheap. Lovely. Had pasta carbonara. A Coke. And some tiramisu. Yummmmm.

Now back in bed. Hangover has gone but am feeling so tired. And my throat is hurting. So I guess that's the post exam virus kicking in. Brilliant.

ipsos · 29/11/2015 06:33

Our house is getting so much like an outward bound course now. We have no heating in the hall as the radiator is off the wall. Then since we lifted the kitchen vinyl and had to bleach the heck out of some penicillin-type fungus that we found underneath, we not have the doors and windows open there to let the chlorine out, so it is frigid in there too. I feel very Baden Powell.

ipsos · 29/11/2015 07:13

Does anybody know which it the cheapest mop or sponge mop, including refills (new heads)? I've been looking around online and they all seems to be weirdly expensive. I was wondering if anyone had seen a cheap one in Lidl or something?

babsmam · 29/11/2015 07:13

Ipsos it will be worth it in the end. Rock and roll Saturday in the babs house watching plaster dry.
£220 as I gave him an extra £20 cos he worked so hard. £50 in sainsbury
Lsd today church then mams for lunch

Colliejollychristmas · 29/11/2015 07:46

LSD here today. But hopefully a NSD

ipsos · 29/11/2015 07:56

Exciting Babs. How long does it have to dry before you can paint it, and does smell? We had lime plaster last week and it was kind of acrid on the throat. I'm hoping that the gypsum plaster they use for a skim will not be smelly.

I've figured out the mop problem. It seems I can get tesco mop heads from my tesco delivery for £2.50 and can attach them with elastic bands to an old sponge mop in the shed. Problem solved. Smile

babsmam · 29/11/2015 08:10

Couple of days to dry, no more than a week. We have windows slightly open. No strong smell, a bit like wet sand, and I have a very good sense of smell. After that a wash coat of paint.

Ememem84 · 29/11/2015 08:19

Should be LSD today. And no hangover. Yay!

I'm getting up in a bit. Bacon and eggs for breakfast. Then putting slow cooker on to make ragu for lasagne I'm making later. Then the big declutter starts.

will have to pop to shop this morning for lasagne sheets, milk cheese salad and garlic breads. But shouldn't be spending a fortune.

ipsos · 29/11/2015 08:32

Thanks babs. That's good to know. I'll put my painting excitement away for a week then. Smile

lilacclery · 29/11/2015 08:37

em I just had a lightbulb moment reading your posts. I've got folliculitis again which seems to follow on from when I've been under extra stress. Didn't realise it was due to adrenaline leaving the body that your body succumbs to infection.

Loving the talk of all renovations can wait to see pics of the finished work.

fluffy I've made sc fudge before. It hardens a bit more the second day.

I was meant to be travelling 100 miles yesterday and didn't because there's a storm. Spent the money on a Chinese takeaway insteadSmile

Pointlessfan · 29/11/2015 08:58

I too am always ill after something stressful, usually during the first week of the school hols. I'd noticed the pattern before but never considered why it happens, interesting!
We had friends round last night so bought a few beers and a takeaway. Spent about £20 for DH and me but have enough left over for lunch today.
Thanks for second hand gift feedback, think I'll give it to her as a stocking filler.
We might buy Xmas lights for the house today, I'd always assumed they were very expensive but the garden centre has LED ones quite cheap, they are also battery powered plus I get 10% off in there with my membership card.
