Well done on that saving ipsos

I didn't buy perfume, the ones I would buy were not reduced. Have found a make set within budget so will get that over the weekend.

Heating is already on, I'm wearing a top, sweater, cardigan and a wrap around my shoulders, trewes, socks & slippers and my fingers are freezing, ffs

ipsos · 27/11/2015 15:08

I was reading online that one of the most economic ways to keep warm is a heated throw. (Like a fleecy blanket). Apparently they cost almost nothing to run and are really warm.

AdoraBell · 27/11/2015 15:18

Thanks, will look at those. Not sure it'll work for moving around the house though, might have to spend more time watching telly Grin

ipsos · 27/11/2015 15:41

There's a man fitting new vinyl in our bathroom and I'm downstairs hoping the vinyl will be a decent colour and wondering when we'll be able to answer a call of nature again. Smile

CremeEggThief · 27/11/2015 17:03

£5.95 on brunch with my friend at an M&S café. I hate spending anything on Black Friday, on principle, but I hadn't seen my friend for ages, so just made sure I only spent on food. I stopped her from buying anything that wasn't already on her shopping list, so it's just as well I was there really!

Girlfriend36 · 27/11/2015 17:20

Been at work, LSD £1.52 on Friday night sweets and chocolate!

Its payday, bank balance is looking lovely and healthy again! Pretty pleased with how November is going really, did end up slightly overdrawn but bearing in mind had done a fair bit of Christmas shopping wasn't too bad. Going to have 2 fairly big childcare bills coming in from cm and after school club, am thinking at least £100 if not more. The Christmas hols will be another £70 in childcare (for 2 days Shock) family should cover the rest of it hopefully

Off to Bristol to see Mary Poppins tomos Smile should be good, I am buying dinner as my mum bought the tickets! I def got the better deal as the tickets were £££!

Dd is watching Annie (the original) she loves musicals Grin

Wowzers its stormy here.

A NSD here. I'm really surprised. We have no milk but tough shit. Our shopping is due later. Hope the weather doesn't delay them.

Colliejollychristmas · 27/11/2015 17:23

I massively fibbed. NSD my arse. We are having a takeaway later to celebrate some good news that we had. Grin

Pointlessfan · 27/11/2015 17:34

Congratulations on the intriguing good news collie! Enjoy your takeaway.
NSD here but dispatching DH to get chocolate later!

ipsos · 27/11/2015 17:40

Exciting Collie Very good! Should we ask?

My vinyl is down in the bathroom and I think I have kind of cocked up choosing the colour. Oh well. The man says he needs to "screed" the kitchen floor so is coming back to do it on Tuesday at the same time as the hall is plastered. It's going to be all go. Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 27/11/2015 18:05

Oh tell us collie! Enjoy your take away what are you having?

£129 on an iPod touch for dh's birthday. Had to borrow from ds but will pay it back by the end of the month.

Whataboutreindeer · 27/11/2015 18:05

I am feeling chuffed, only spend today was £10 on a mattress protector. Gabriel returned an entire bottle over me this morning. Stripped the bed but last time this happened the mattress protector melted a bit in the tumble dryer. I realised how bad it is and how much we need one so ordered one. I've also spent £5.50 on washing machine dye. I bought some clothes on eBay and washed then with a new pair of jeans. So my lovely white cardigan and some other bits have been trashed. I'm hoping the washing machine dye will do the job. Expensive mistake.

Colliejollychristmas · 27/11/2015 18:08

Chinese! I had some results after a recent health scare and received an all clear. Yeaaaaaaah! Grin

AdoraBell · 27/11/2015 18:09

Enjoy your take away Collie and congrats on whatever the news is.

Ipsos do you think you can used to the colour? Hope the kitchen floor is ready soon. I started painting the kitchen walls last week, haven't done anything since then thoughBlush

AdoraBell · 27/11/2015 18:11

Ah, crossed post. Glad everything is good Grin Wine

SpottyTeacakes · 27/11/2015 18:14

Great news!! Must be a weight off your shoulders. I'll have crispy shredded beef, deep fried salted chicken and chicken chow mien please Smile

CremeEggThief · 27/11/2015 18:18

Aw, that's great news, Collie. Enjoy your Chinese.Grin

ipsos · 27/11/2015 18:30

Great news Collie. :-) Fantastic!

Adora I think we may call this layer of vinyl "insulation" and put another layer on top. The floor was very uneven and the man has put a flat wood layer over it so that was a good start. dh would like the bathroom blue and the colour I've chosen will not go with blue, and also clashes with the expensive wooden bath panel that we chose, so I think it may be simpler to find a nice white one and put it on top. He left me with a sample of the kitchen one and I think it's okay. Choosing neutral colours is so hard.

ipsos · 27/11/2015 18:32

On the plus side, it's been a cheap day for heating. (Chilly, but inexpensive)

Oh come all ye frugalers, joyful in December, oh come ye, oh come yea and chat
ipsos · 27/11/2015 18:42

I got my Farrow and Ball colour card in the post and am staring at it in total confusion.

Whataboutreindeer · 27/11/2015 18:57

Ipsos I really want a loop now!

ipsos · 27/11/2015 19:03

What they really are fantastic. I can't recommend the thing too highly. If I didn't have mine now I'd be burning a fiver a day in gas and heaven knows when I'd realise, if ever. The switch in tariff that they recommended is meant to save me about £600 a year and I'm still with the same supplier. It makes the £70 initial cost of the loop look like a drop in the ocean.

Pointlessfan · 27/11/2015 19:03

Good news Collie!
Where do you attach the loop energy thing?
Our meters are in the garage so it would be a right pain having to go in there to look at it. Or can you look at an app or something?

ipsos · 27/11/2015 19:13

Hi Pointless,

The gas part goes in the actual gas box and sends the data wirelessly. I think it said it had to be less than 30 feet from the wireless router.

The electricity bit clips round the cable that goes into the electricity meter and it sends data wirelessly too.

Then there's a third bit that just needs to plug into the internet router and also into a power socket. That's the receiver for the other two.

The batteries are spec'd to last at least ten years.

The £70 also includes free access for ever to their web interface and that's where I get all these graphs. I'll post some pics of the interface.

Sorry to sound like a salesperson, but this is so much fun.
