Just made cauliflower cheese with some bacon and cavolo nero for dh who had it for lunch and there is enough for his dinner too, the rest of us are having homemade burgers, buns and wedges

Morning happy halloween Halloween Smile

Feel bit better this morning, couldn't get to sleep for ages but didn't get up till nearly 10am so still managed to catch up on sleep!

Have avoided going into town as have a feeling it will be busy today so saved some money there, its a beautiful day so have hung some washing out and there is another load on. May go for an Autumnal walk later, there is a Halloween ghost walk on at the museum tonight so planning on taking dd to that! Hope I don't get too scared Wink

Pass and Lila i am seriously in awe of you working full time! I feel a bit of a wimp for moaning about 30 hours, I think being on my own makes it feel like more though Wink will need to think about online shopping though as don't want to spend my one child free day a week in the supermarket!

Collieputthekettleon · 31/10/2015 12:07

LSD here. £10 on meds for DS who has a sinus infection. Our new GP is gorgeous sorry. Back to topic..... Need something in Homebase that's roughly £1 and then no more spends for the weekend.

All the beach carparks are free again tomorrow! Woooooohooooo!

We aren't doing pumpkins etc. Simply cannot be arsed. DS is only 2 & he won't care.

Aldi was £37 something. Sainsburys £27 for clothes for the children and some batteries.

Tonight Halloween party at friends but feeling v annoyed. Think I just woke up the wrong side of the bed. V grumpy. Hate the fact that I have to think of everything around here. Eg. Dd has a party in a couple of weeks. I said she could go. This morning I woke up realising there's a huge clash with ds off to chess tournament (an hour away), me away for work half the world away for a week. So not a big issue (we can always not go to party) but I'm cross that the husband isn't thinking about solutions and instead I'm waking up with these sorts of problems.

Another eg, tonight's party. I've been asked to bring several things. Again not a problem but it's my job to sort it not his. Now he's off to get his hair cut. He could have done that on the day off he had the kids. But no didn't think to organise anything. I on the other hand, planned my day off and scheduled the jobs and chores to sort out.

This haircut, he organised it for the wrong time - smack in the middle of ds' tennis class. Which means that I need to sit here when actually I could be home with dd getting started on holiday homework.

Probably am unreasonable but can't help it. I work full time and yet all the bullshit home, kids and other obligations fall on me too. Angry

Pointlessfan · 31/10/2015 12:29

NK I get annoyed about things like that too. DH does loads of housework etc but I'm the one who has to remember everything eg. Restocking the changing bag and making sure we've got drinks and snacks for DD when we go out.
Have carved a pumpkin but we don't have any candles, will have to nip to the shop.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/10/2015 12:43

Glad you're feeling better girlie.

NK dh is the same although since I've been put on meds for anxiety and I told him it's the little things that are a big deal to me he's been much better.

Ds is in bed so dd and I are making a vivarium for her homework Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 31/10/2015 13:01

Ememem84 · 31/10/2015 14:07

Collie I love when beach car parks are free. Ours have been free from 1 oct through to 31 March. It's funny how no kne seems to realise and still puts up parking tickets you can still buy them in winter

NK5BM3 · 31/10/2015 14:37

He even has the audacity to ask what I had planned for dc lunch!!! Wtaf?!! They are his kids too!!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/10/2015 14:45

ipsos It seems you and your ds have similar immune systems. My dddad used to catch all my childhood viruses but mum seemed immune to them.

Brilliant result on the voucher, I imagine your review will be excellent advertising for them though.

31 Best of luck for tomorrow.

Birding Excellent result.

Girlie I had focal migraines from the pill, I'm not allowed to use the pill any more due the risk of strokes associated with the combined pill/migraines. I never had headaches when I was young.

nk I think most men are like this. Some arent but lots are. I trained dh out of coming to find me if the kitchen or bathroom were untidy by saying "ooh thanks for tidying it darling" "well you didn't just come to tell me so I'd do it did you?".

Dh was never expected to tidy at home but sil was. Even now relatives will be upset dn's are expected to do housework (they don't do it though) because their boys but their dh does lots of housework because he likes a clean tidy home.

Passthecake30 · 31/10/2015 15:50

ipsos thanks for that. Dp is in charge of carving and seeing as he's peed me off I'm not warning him off the imminent splosh Halloween Wink

The reason why I am fed up is sinular to nk....dp is self employed so you would think he would have more flexibility. ...but he's worked 6 days pw for a couple of months and I'm sure he could just be more organised and get it done in less. I've done all homework, housework and picked up the slack. I asked him to look after the kids for half an hour so I could get dd's bday present and he freaked, suggesting I go once they are in bed one night. So I have bought all dd's gifts and wrapped them, not involved him one bit. ..so he will be just as surprised as her on her birthdayAngry. Will see if he changes his behaviour on the run up to Xmas.

ipsos · 31/10/2015 15:52

Hi Fluffy, yes I'm afraid I'm catching everything just now. It's just a physical reaction to ds's four years of sleep trouble, so time and rest should sort it out. Time, rest, and patience.... Zzzzzzz (Very glad to have the company of the frugaleers while I recover.)

Girlfriend36 · 31/10/2015 16:08

Hi all have had a nice day here, the sunshine has been gorgeous! Went for a lovely walk and have otherwise had another nice quiet day. Dd currently out with her friends playing, going to put some dinner on in a min think will do a sausage roast Smile

bbcessex · 31/10/2015 16:45

I haven't read the whole thread.. am looking forward to doing that with a glass of wine later, but breathless !! How lovely.. a one hour labour, woo hoo, and a beautiful new DS. and a fantastic name too. CONGRATULATIONS!

lilacclery · 31/10/2015 16:57

Wow there's a lot of us with dh's not sharing the load - this is the discussion Grin my dh has just walked out on. He may as well not live here at all for all that he contributes to the smooth running of things. It's 5pm I've dc's promised big big movie & popcorn at 6.30 as has he. I made breakfast & lunch plus did top up shop & currently doing online shop for delivery tomo from tesco as its free this week so I just questioned what we were having leftovers in fridge or what I'm still waiting to see!

NK5BM3 · 31/10/2015 16:58

Result. I'm at home feeling sorry for myself and on paracetamol as am running a temp and have a v sore throat. Everyone else is out at Halloween party (I did provide the food) and I'll have a couple of hours to myself. Not sure why I'm so grumpy.., I think it's just the weeks flying past with the only thing to do really is survival to the weekend. This half term wasn't a break for me as was still up every day at 6 for work. Sigh.

I now have 2 weeks to survive at work, one of which is full on teaching (I teach in blocks). Then a 13h flight over to Asia for a week of work.

ipsos · 31/10/2015 17:02

Gosh that's sounds tough NK5

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/10/2015 19:03

£10 food and gloves in sainsbos.

Dh wanted pizza.

If you all check your topcashback accounts dashboard some of you might have the £10 cashback bonus they are offering.

Badders123 · 31/10/2015 19:08

Well.
I found loads of change in my change stash - nearly £20!
So that paid for a cinema trip for ds and I and a chippy tea! :)
I'm still.not feeling too well and got a lot on tomorrow...sigh.

bbcessex · 31/10/2015 19:18

ipsos I did laugh at the thought of you drooling over printers

31weeks.. more exciting baby news... can't wait to hear your post when baby DD (I think I read that right?) arrives.

Sorry to all posters who aren't feeling well. That's rubbish.
I'm just sitting drinking wine and hopping up and down for the Trick or Treaters.. aww, love Halloween!

bbcessex · 31/10/2015 19:20

NK5BM3... I hope you begin to feel better before you travel to Asia.. that's draining enough at the best of times. Do you take any potions to try and keep your immune system topped up? I swear by my Nutribullet and have (really!) been known to take it with me on overseas work trips...

ipsos · 31/10/2015 19:29

bbc LOL! See what you mean. I do seem to like printers a lot. Smile

I let ds have a mini crunchy bar that he got while trick or treating and he has turned into a jack-in-the box. Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 31/10/2015 19:35

Ipsos my dc were awful! I think it was just over excitement and over tiredness! Luckily they're both asleep now.

bbcessex · 31/10/2015 19:38

You DO like printers a lot ispos, which is brilliant.. loving your peccadillo!

I've just placed an order with Sainsbury's for Christmas drinks.. 6 bottles of good Prosecco and 6 of good white wine... few quid off each bottle, plus 25% off for buying 6 of each, plus £16 off over £80 new customer spend. £1 delivery charge. Not bad frugalling me thinks :-) £107 order for £69. Happy days (just got to keep all the booze for Christmas now).

I was going to use Tesco's but they don't seem have a new customer discount now, which is strange..

CremeEggThief · 31/10/2015 20:10

Another NSD. I'm pleased I haven't had any trick or treaters, as I couldn't afford to buy any sweets this yearHaloween Sad. DS is with his dad, so we didn't even need a pumpkin. Just another hour to hide out in the back of the house, until I think it's safe to go in the sitting room.

On the plus side, lots of decluttering done, some stuff to eBay organised (I'll take photos tomorrow, as I only ever take them in daylight) and over £30 should be coming my way from webuybooks.com, once I post off the books, cds and DVDS. This is all stuff they wouldn't take before, so it's always worth checking back with them after a few months.

fuzzpig · 31/10/2015 20:46

Glad you've had nobody knocking Creme

We've had no ToTers. Except my DCs with the neighbours who took them! They've come back with a massive haul so now there's a ridiculous amount in the cupboard as DH had got a big not-very-frugal tub. I don't think the tubs actually end up better value.

Went to Asda today, which always includes MacD lunch (don't go often as usually get a delivery from Tesco) and got a few bits... always turns into more than a few bits though, when I set foot in a supermarket! Pretty much stuck to what I'd planned except I couldn't resist some Minions underwear on offer :o Blush
