Unescorted i forget that i might be the only one who calls them "Dolphin" potatoes.

It's like when i was younger, and mum made Lasanga Verdi (i.e. which i think means green pasta...) i couldn't say it. so its always been "Sanyo Birdy" in our house. confused the hell out of DH when he was first told thats what he was having...!

I am having Lamby lamb lamb. DM is cooking. I am excited. and hopeful that there will be dolphin potatoes

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/10/2015 16:59

NSD.

AdoraBell · 11/10/2015 17:04

£5.70 on Chicken porciones for the dogs, bread and a packet of Shredded Wheat with a tear on it marked down to 99p.

Also spent £7.47 in McDonalds. DD2 was cooperativa and came with me so she got a treat. I now want To go though my cupboards and organise meal plans. Today I'm doing ríbs in BBQ Sauce, from the freezer, with HM wedges and salad.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/10/2015 17:21

Underwhelmed How bad is it with your dh? is he more likely to co-operate if you work out how much you need off him every month for bills, food etc and then what's left is his to fritter? That way if he runs out then hard cheese and you still have bills covered.

Do you have credit cards? if you change the DD to standing order and pay minimum plus, say £10, you pay it off in a few years. Otherwise the amount you pay drops a little bit every month but it spreads the debt over a longer period thus earning them more interest.

Collieputthekettleon · 11/10/2015 17:35

fluffy it's called Nectar Canvass. I'm hoping this link will work www.nectarcanvass.ssi-partner.com Smile

I'm feeling a bit confused about things. We ought to move up north. (north England or Scotland) but the move is daunting, telling family is daunting, DH job hunting may be a costly to attend interviews, selling our house will be tricky (not even sure if we can resell so soon!), and buying a new house up there will be a mighty ball ache.

We want to do it but the process sounds nightmarish. Has anyone else done a similar move? We'd be much better off.

Unescorted · 11/10/2015 18:02

Eme we have compost & worms (spag bol), fried lice (fried rice), and frogs spit (any custard based desert eg creme brulee).

under I made my dh sort it out. I opened all the bills and gave him the income figures. He had to square the circle. It was eye opening for him, but it means he is fully on board with saving / not frittering. Until then I was at my wits end trying to make ends meet only for him go out and spend the money I had earmarked for something eles (food, commuting ... Hmm)

I have made the raspberry tart... it looks lush if I may say so myself.

Girlfriend36 · 11/10/2015 18:27

Managed a NSD which is the first in ages!

Been sorting out dds toys and one of the cupboards, got two bags of stuff for the charity shop, also found a big box of Christmas cards which is annoying as didn't think i had any so have bought more!

Right meal plan.

Tomos something from the freezer as will be late in after work and dd has a football tournament!
Tues salmon with rice and veg.
wed chicken or sausage roast (depending on whats in the freezer)
Thus tuna pasta with salad
fri fishfingers, chips and beans.

CremeEggThief · 11/10/2015 19:01

Ooh, babsmam, was it Preston Park?Smile

Collie, we moved from Bristol to Durham a few years ago, for then H's job. But we didn't have a house to sell. I have to say the North has got under my skin and I love living here. It's more similar to Ireland (where I'm from originally) than the South is, in my opinion anyway.

NSD and I made over £97 on eBay. First time I've sold for ages. 9 out of 13 items went, so really pleased and surprised about that.

Does anyone know if you can freeze leftover roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips and broccoli? I'm not sure how, but I have enough left over from ours today. It's currently plated up under clingfilm in the fridge, but if I can freeze it for next Sunday, when DS is away, I might do that instead.

It was indeed creme Wink lovely afternoon too until just as we we on our way to go home and dc crashed into each other on a ramp. Ouch.

bobblypop · 11/10/2015 19:34

it has all gone to pot here. youber dc are just being horrible and all arguing. older dc keep springing suprises on me ("I need money for food out with friends tomorrow" "I need picking up from town tomorrow" etc...) dinner ended up very late, still got all baths to do plus ds2 spellings....sob I hate Sunday evenings Sad

on a positive note I have tidied out and cleaned 4 kitchen cupboards, the syrup sponge was yummy, and I have a loaf of bread rising!

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/10/2015 19:40

Thank you collie. Just signed up.

creme I'd freeze them and re-roast all together or make them into soup.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/10/2015 19:59

I bought the lidl mini stollen this week after reading about it on here. It's amazing.

CremeEggThief · 11/10/2015 20:04

Oops, sorry to hear about your DC, Babs. Go me, with my powers of deduction!Wink

Cheers Fluffy, I'll give it a go. I don't need it for soup, as I have carrots and parsnip kept for that already.

Ok, taking a deep breath and going to go for it. Credit card at 3k and next account at 600 ?? next account to go first because of the interest.
Stopping smoking tomorrow, it's a terrible habit that has crept up on me, use it as a terrible coping mechanism. Waiting for house sale to go through and won't be buying again anytime soon(already have rented) no money made from it so the mortgage payments are going into a saving account to pay a loan off.
Have just returned back to work so childcare is a big expense, have Budgeted for this but not for the packed lunches and not being in to cook something healthy-ish for tea. Dusting off the slow cooker, does anyone have any good slimming world slow cooker friendly cheap recipes?
X

Pointlessfan · 11/10/2015 20:25

Aagh, spent a bloody fortune in Ikea. We got our throws and the kitchen for DD's Xmas pressie and also got DD some badly needed toy storage and bedroom furniture as all she has is an ancient chest of drawers which is an accident waiting to happen as she can pull the drawers right out. Got her a wardrobe but it wouldn't fit in the car so had to spend an extra £25 on delivery. With lunch and a few other bits we spent the best part of £300. Luckily we had £75 on a gift card and we'd already budgeted for the Xmas present plus my mum will give us some money back as we got a couple of bits for her. The rest is on the credit card.
DD now has a horrible cold, she looked so fed up this evening. Might be buying Calpol tomorrow! I need a low spend week now as she also needs shoes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/10/2015 20:25

It's so much better than most supermarket stollens. I hated stollen for years then bought Aldi's after a mumsnet thread.

Now I flipping love it. All those years thinking it was odd the Germans had something so dry and flavourless as a christmas cake.

Dizzylizzie29 · 11/10/2015 20:27

I am a compete impulse buyer too.
So not taking my card into work with me.

Girlfriend36 · 11/10/2015 20:30

Collie I haven't had much luck with the Sainsburys canvass thing, every survey I go to do I get started then after about 10 mins it tells me 'sorry but you're not suitable for this survey after all' Hmm Confused Not sure what I am doing wrong!!

Bobbly I know what you mean, I only have the one dd and it is still a mission to get everything organised for Monday morning Grin she has a football tournament tomos and the letter says she needs to take a 'base layer' Confused any ideas?? I am thinking leggings and a t.shirt maybe?

SpottyTeacakes · 11/10/2015 20:32

Well done dizzy. Your credit card is lower than mine but we will pay them off together Smile

Fluffy I can see us eating a pack a week until they sell out Blush

Ememem84 · 11/10/2015 20:36

I am full of lamb.

Dm also sent us home with leftovers. Yippee. So lamb curry on Tuesday for dinner I think.

Dizzylizzie29 · 11/10/2015 20:36

We had been paying £200 a month off it but then using it again.
We got it for emergencies, have learnt we are still not capable of
managing one responsibily :/(

annatha · 11/10/2015 20:42
