Everyone welcome.

My 6 year old dd gets frustrated when she can't read as well as the older ones.
My ds really likes math probably because there is a set of rules you can follow to get the right answer and he loves to read but his writing is awful.
I think it depends a lot on your teacher, I used to like math until I went to college and had an awful math teacher who used to skip steps assuming we already knew them.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/07/2015 16:05

Dd's writing isn't great either but she has muscular problems. It's hard to see them struggle, she also compares herself to the older children. It's so stressful having dc I spend a lot of time worrying about them!

Collie that is definitely not commutable, I've never heard anything so ridiculous!
I've had a virtually NSD day today, just a pound on milk but just remembered I need to collect duvet from the laundrette after the cat was sick on it, I think that will be about £8. Sodding cat costs me a fortune one way or another!

girliefriend · 28/07/2015 16:35

The blue is not dissimilar to the medium mn blue (the background to our user names!) I was half way through decorating when I remembered I hate it as well!! Its all the mess, drives me crazy. Not totally convinced on the colour but will live with it a while and see I think...

DH says I am awesome at decorating, I am brilliant at picking up the phone and asking the decorator when he can come Grin Seriously, we both can decorate, but we both leave something to do at the end, and we both have manic lives. We've been in the house 4 years in September, and I have staggered the decorating over that time, getting a couple of rooms done as and when we can manage it, meaning nothing needs doing all at once.

DS has gone into town with his mates on the bus, to eat at Nandos, then go to the cinema. That will cost me £40, but I couldn't say no, DD has so much spent on her for the pony, it would be churlish to refuse.

Only just completely comfortable with him heading off by himself like this!!

DH and I will have chorizo, mushroom and chard risotto for tea before I head off for my camp duty!!

TheOnlyPink · 28/07/2015 17:15

Home from our day out. Had a fab time, and my mum treated us a lot, so only actually spent the €20 cash I had! The atm was miles away too, so wasn't tempted. Feel really grateful and thrilled we had such a nice day. Had been dreading it a bit, because we really couldn't afford much, and between lunch out and the funfair, it would really add up.

So tempted to get a takeaway now tho, but will cook up my risotto!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/07/2015 18:03

Collie your poor plants, all that hard work undone. That job was just ridiculous. No wonder you turned it down.

www.facebook.com/fyf20quid This used to be a website based page but it's on fb now. Very interesting.

I keep forgetting to mention www.kidstart.co.uk, it's cashback site but it does cb on John Lewis and amazon which most dont.

NSD.

I have a very unfrugal decorating confession... I always buy the really cheap trays and rollers and chuck them afterwards as I hate the clearing up so much! Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 28/07/2015 18:22

You should line the tray with cling film then peel off and the tray stays clean

SpottyTeacakes · 28/07/2015 18:42

There's a little hedgehog wandering around our garden Smile we get them every year.

Collie sorry about your garden Sad

NSDs yesterday and Today. Will try To catch up later.

Fluffy the house is nice enough but considerably smaller than the estate agent/owners lead us To believe and so, when it arrives, the only furniture we shipped will not fitAngry. But the área is lovely and we got DDs into what seems To be a good school.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/07/2015 20:42

Not like an estate agent to lie is it?. At least you're back now.

It must be cheaper to live here, phones aside.

So I had £46.18 in the bank and so then went and spent £103.66 in Sainsburys today!! (get paid Thursday though)

We were about to run out of cat food so I bought a load as they had it on offer ( £50 worth! my cat only eats whiskas) . I usaully do but it in bulk when is on offer and have had it delivered from Pets at Home before but this was definately cheaper.. should last him a week or so!Grin Wink

I also got two of the large fresh (for freezer) packs of chicken breasts reduced to half price (frugal win) and some packs of raw frozen prawns as they were on offer (hmm, cant saythats frugal but we do eat them) along with 'normal' other stuff.... well, the freezer is well stocked now,

Also ( Why do i keep doing this?) bought some things in peacocks and H&M sales .. madness! (it was just because i was mooching around bored at lunchtime) Anyway they are not in the budget , I dont need them and so they are all going back tomorrow, (I can still be so stupid about 'sales' sometimes )

Blush Sent DH to the Co-op with evil plot to buy Crabbie's ginger beer, biscuits and get cashback so we could buy chips. So that's another £35, although he must have a good £15 left in change. Bad! Why can't we stick to the food in the house?

That's a good tip about the clingfilm!
I love hedgehogs - any photos please?
Ipsos I try to do that with pans and also keep the lids on if possible. I also use the kettle to boil water from things like pasta as it is much quicker and thiftier them boiling it on the hob. It also wastes heat if the gas flames are coming up the sides of the pan.
I'm exhausted tonight and my brain is full!

girliefriend · 28/07/2015 21:52

We have a resident hedgehog round our way as well, I noticed my cat following something about and realised it was a big hedgehog, he wasn't bothered by the cat at all Grin I think you are meant to register hedgehog sightings as their numbers have dramatically reduced Sad

I was so excited at seeing one I woke dd up to show her, it was about 10pm ish and she was much less excited than me at being dragged out of bed!!

Kitchen more or less finished, have decided I do like the colour. Spotty you are about 12 hours too late with that very useful tip Grin will have to remember for next time. Pointless I am planning on doing that as well Blush

Collie that Cornishware is gorgeous, will have to wait till I win the lottery though!

Needa how old is your ds? I still get anxious about dd playing out with her friends, can't imagine her getting a bus into town!!
