The library does eBooks as well, although if you don't finish them after 3 weeks it deletes them off your eReader thingy.

My Boys are being driven down from Scotland as we speak - it will be good to see them again. Grin They ended up doing 405 miles of the race route.

Awww will be lovely for you to ser tje boys unescorted hope you have a big meal sorted as surely they'll need loading up again

£4.40 swimming, £15 prezzo lunch. £19.60 on 2 (!) School jumpers for September. £5 in card factory on fathers day cards, £9 Holland & barrats.

It's pay day....First in 2 months, I got more than expected and I feel the urge to splurge. Must not give in!

Fab41 · 29/05/2015 16:20

Lurking more than posting, but had to share topcashback deal today. I wanted a £5 BT sim for my son as he has been on PAYG, and this would be cheaper as we already have BT broadband. Checked topcashback and earned £36.75 for taking out a new sim today! Very pleased I checked!

All helps...

blueteapot · 29/05/2015 16:34

Hi all! Bit of a financial disaster going on at the moment, OHs car has died and we have decided that it isn't worth fixing it up, so we'll have to buy him a new one (essential for work). Can manage on one while we think about it as I am on mat leave, but come November I will need mine back again. We have to decide bbetween taking a loan / buying a cheapy outright / leasing one. Argh! That's my new kitchen put off another year (luckily it functions, if ugly!). I'm just fed up building up a little savings them something knocking them out!

£2 on toddler group today.

DH has agreed to personal spending budget so we'll have to see how that pans out.

TGIF and there's beer in the fridge! ;)

Unescorted · 29/05/2015 16:50

pass Lasagne. I also seem to collected 2 extra girls for the night.

blue that seems to happen to us too. It is so frustrating.

Ended up going to a local little town to have a mooch about, 90p parking. Dd spent some of her money in the charity shops but no other spends for me.

Was quite pleased as worked out a way to come home that avoided all the local holiday traffic jams going on round here!!

June is going to be ridiculously tight, not sure how am going to manage actually. I checked my account this morning and thought o.kay tight but doable but have just realised that the hotel money (£110) and quite a few other things haven't come out yet. Reckon food budget will have to be about £20 a week, need to find £30 for dds horse riding lessons and owe my mum some money as she paid for the London Eye plus my nephews and best mates bday coming up.

Going to see mortgage lady tomos but not holding my breath, i can't seem to balance the books now let alone if i had a mortgage!!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 29/05/2015 19:34

NSD today. DH car repair can't be done until end of June which has bought us a bit of time to save.
We are moving in July and I've had a few quotes for movers, really tempted to go for the full pack and move option as then we wouldn't need to do anything but it is super spendy, anyone ever done it?

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/05/2015 19:43

One of our relatives did the full pack option but stuff got damaged. That was Pickfords though. It was part of a relocation package so it didn't cost her anything.

Blue I lease a car, I never have to pay for MOT's or major repairs and the road tax is £0 because it's economical. But "Buy V Lease" is like who you vote for, once you've chosen a side you don't deviate.

Good luck tomorrow Girlie

£15 in sainsburys.

lilacclery · 29/05/2015 20:20

Ladies work paid my wages into an account that I have online by mistake. It will be tues before it transfers into my account because Mon is a bank holiday here. Luckily I have money from my self employed income to keep me going.

NK5BM3 · 29/05/2015 20:28

I hate half terms. Just because of the amt of money spent! And I only took today off! Tuesday and Thursday £13 each day for 2 h tennis. And the usual £36 for cleaner. Today £10 entry to soft play but it wasn't limited to any time so we had about 3h there. Spent £6 on drinks and treats.

Credit card 1 bill came and it was 1/3 less than last month. And that included the trip to outlet Store where I bought my black tie outfit and shoes. That's great! Hopefully credit card 2 will also be small as I want to pay for Disney.

Re paying for movers. We did that both times we moved. First time when I relocated from Tokyo to here, the packers came and moved my little flat into boxes. Fab service. Only decisions I had to make were what I needed for the first few weeks so the usual clothes and some books.

Second time when we moved across the city we also hired packers and they did a lot of the large things. We did pack our clothes and crockery but they did a lot of the dismantling of stuff. And moving into the new house they did all that too.

Worth it. V worth it. Get 3 quotes. Price can differ so much.

Today was one of the most expensive days of my life!
£790 on flooring for the new house. I will have to pay the carpet fitter another £160, when he comes to fit it next Thursday.
£267.99 on a gas cooker plus installation. Free delivery next Sunday though.

At 37, I feel like a grown - up at last! Dreading July's credit card bill though!

lilacclery · 30/05/2015 06:57

Lots of car trouble sorry to hear that.

I've had a few nsds this week. Going to be a lsd today too. Will probably buy the daily mail as I love the magazine that comes with it. That's €2 I think & that's pretty much it. Tomo bringing kids to a free event, a frozen sing along will probably buy snacks & Monday will be a bit spendier having a family day out with kids & au pair.

lilacclery · 30/05/2015 06:58

spotty go for it, least with no childcare costs what you make is your own.

babsmam · 30/05/2015 07:01

£61 in aldi, £12 in lidl,£4 for theatre parking.

Today will be down to the shop in a bit for sausage and bread roles. Maybe something for tomorrow breakfast as got a friend staying as it's show day. £8 on theatre parking for two cars. also need strawberry and reappears as the ones bought day before have vanished (2 punnet of each) sigh

Pointlessfan · 30/05/2015 09:15

Sorry to hear about everyone's car troubles. We lease ours too. It is expensive per month although no more so than hire purchase would be. It includes servicing and we swap for a brand new one every 3 years so it never needs an MOT. If it does go wrong (never had a problem yet) it is under warranty so no surprise costs!
Spent £80 on a massive shop in Asda yesterday and about £5 at soft play.
Today will be spendy. We always have fish n chips for lunch on cup final day and this year it's extra special as we are huge Villa fans! My mum has kindly offered to babysit so we can go to watch it in the pub so we are buying extra fish n chips for her plus a few beers and bus fares. Also taking Pointless cat to the vet to have his nails clipped. Should be about £25 but the vet always manages to find something else wrong with him e.g. Tooth decay that will require some sort of extra treatment.
Ooh and we're planning another camping trip, going to pay online later - £20. We really need to get a roof box for the car but we're going to hold off and ask for money of Halfords vouchers for Xmas. We'll have to make do with being wedged in the car for this year's camping trips!
Just going to enjoy a rare evening out with DH watching Villa stuff Arsenal (yeah, right!) and not worry about money.

Peppapissinpig · 30/05/2015 09:25

Sorry to post and run... Helping DM with table top sale (rock and roll!)

Laska..... Are you out there? I hear you are the ynab guru and I can't get my head round where to put Mays salary (got to cover June's budget). Are you able to help? The support pages aren't very clear.

Peppapissinpig · 30/05/2015 10:33

£2.25 so far coffee and cake at sale - all for charity tho

Pointlessfan · 30/05/2015 11:09

Vet was only £15 - result!

Blimey, this is moving fast, still haven't managed to catch up properly.
Sorry to hear of the car woes, I feel your pain. I've had more than my fair share of huge car bills over the last couple of years and am now just hoping it will last out another couple of years until I can properly afford to replace it.
Have been gardening with dd this morning, getting the ground ready to plant some of the plant offcuts I've been given by my mum and aunty.

Going to watch ds playing cricket this afternoon which is local so no spend.
Tomorrow he's playing away so we're going to go for a walk and then watch some of the cricket. On Monday evening dd has a match and Tuesday ds has another match. All a bit crazy but it means we don't have much time to spend money!

We've got some leftover outdoor wood paint and lots of spare wood in the garage so I'm going to see if dh will make a couple of planters for the garden

Have a lovely weekend everyone Smile
