I don't know where to start... so much sad news. So many people watching their loved ones struggle. Thinking of you all, I know how hard it is, having just been there with DMIL.

Spends -

£20 Amazon, some stuff for the chickens.
£30 M&S. Been weeks since I was in and I grabbed tons of reduced stuff, plus bread. I am sucker for their bread and I have been strong for weeks!!
£10 eye drops and medication for DH
£15 Home Bargains. Stocking up.
£20 Tesco

Some of the above spending was due to having guests last night, so spendy, but cheaper than a meal out.

Today should be NSD. I will also only need a few bits from Aldi this week, so no big shop, I'm full up.

LaChatte · 24/05/2015 09:46

DD is going on a safari with school on Tuesday, we had to do a shop (€40) to buy her stuff for a packed lunch, and I impulse bought myself a bikini because I loved the colours, I still haven't even tried it on yet though!

Days has a friend over for the weekend, so that's some free entertainment for both DCs.

I made a drunk cherry and chocolate cake for DH and I because we have lots of cherries (and I had all the other ingredients in store), it's the first time I've made it, it's delicious.

Today should be a NSD.

320€, 4 days to payday.

AuditAngel · 24/05/2015 10:09

Sorry for all the sad news. Italian don't forget to look after yourself, to enable you to support your friends at this terrible time. DH went to a funeral on Thursday for a friends' stillborn baby.

I think I will ask mum to help out with the credit card bill, and repay her over the next couple of months. She won't charge interest!

I didn't need to pay out yesterday for the timeshare related costs. I needed to set up an account for the points exchange, but it takes 48 hours, and I need a separate account to exchange the week, and that company wasn't open. So will sort all this out after our holiday. I think we will probably get rid of the timeshare, but DH isn't ready to yet. We can't use the week we have, but if doing the points/exchanging works, there is a nice place near Euro Disney we can use (if anyone wants to swap theirs in)

Went to the bakers yesterday, only to discover I'd left my purse at home Blush but DD1 had some money, including £5 I gave her for the cinema at school and £1 I had given her for church, so she paid, and I got my money back!

£40 getting DD1's new bike put together. I couldn't sort the brakes out, and lost the will to do it myself. She has waited so patiently for it, so I took it to the bike shop. But I begrudge it, only because the owner is so grumpy. He doesn't seem to realise he is providing a service and needs paying customers. I wasn't asking him to fix it for free!

Going to the Science museum today. About to go to buy Guinness, slow cooker sauce mix and mushrooms to leave a stew to cook for dinner tonight. Will also pick up some sausage rolls etc to take ax snacks, but not a full picnic as I'd have to carry it.

Just back from the vets again, girliecat not looking well and we have to go back again tomorrow morning, thank God I have insurance on her. She needs bloods and more tests doing, its going to cost £££ (the insurance company will hate me!!)

Hoping we get some answers before Tuesday as will be off to London then, don't really want to leave my brother with the responsibility of looking after a seriously unwell cat.

Spent £2 in Pets at Home on some hamster treats which appear to have been a complete waste of money as the hamster doesn't like them!!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/05/2015 12:40

Sorry to hear that girlie! I'm thinking of going to London on Wednesday with the dc. Just to southbank.

CremeEggThief · 24/05/2015 15:27

Wine and Thanks for everyone who would like them on this thread.

NSD.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2015 15:51

italian, I remember you talking about that little boy before. It doesn't get much worse than that. poor parents having to go through that.

LaChatte, what is the natural way?. does that mean pain relief but no treatment?.

Girlie that cat has the worst luck. what's the insurance limit?.

I am in London. The hotel is not nice, there's nowhere to park outside despite advertising free parking & the comp mini bar has been discontinued. it's still on the website so I will be complaining after we get home.

we parked at the station, dh had to park because I'm not confident and when he pressed the button to get his memory seat setting my iPad was under his seat and the screen is smashed. I sobbed in the car when I realised. it was 3 1/2 years old with no damage. I flipping loved my pad, everything's on it incl my work diary. I stopped using a paper diary after dh lost it, stopped using the phone diary after dh updated it and wiped it and now the pads fucked.

I want to go home. so, so far with the broken pad I might as well booked a week in Dartmouth.

£28 at Bicester shopping park for a new purse.
£6 to park till midnight.

dh is going to try and replace the screen, he's had iPhones apart before with success but I am not hopefull.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2015 15:57

They've re-stocked the mini bar.

I worked flipping hard to afford this Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 24/05/2015 16:02

Oh no fluffy Sad sorry you're having a crap time. There must be somewhere that can do your screen cheaply in London?

Peppapissinpig · 24/05/2015 16:05

Sneaks in just as May about to end......

Can I join please. £500 OD, 2k balance to pay on holiday next week, plus half term!!

Need to be as frugal as poss and try to regain some control on finances.

babsmam · 24/05/2015 16:34

Spendy day more than anticipated as dbro omitted to tell me we were paying For parent's meal. I owe him fifty quid. Also ten at the ice cream parlour. £85 on sainsbury as couldn't find time to go to aldi.

girliefriend · 24/05/2015 16:57

Oh Fluffy that sound rubbish re the hotel and your iPad Sad i was the same when I realised my camera had broken, I flipping loved that camera and it was only a few years old!

I can't believe our cat is ill again, she seems the same but not worse this afternoon but will def want some answers tomos. I wondered today if maybe the fact she had been on steroids would have caused some internal/kidney damage? The insurance limit from what I can remember is £4000 per condition and they will treat one condition for a year. So in theory it should be fine but I am assuming my premiums will go up at some point!

I'm not someone who will keep an animal alive at all costs if they are suffering and she does seem to have been through more than most in her short life Sad will see what tomorrow brings.

Spends today £25 in superdrug on make up, calpol and drinks for me and dd.

£11 in Primark on a pac a mac type mac that will be handy in London and some socks.

I had a look at some canvas shoes as the cheap ones I got a couple of weeks ago are not that comfy but couldn't find any I liked/ could afford.

Nsd. Dh has worked all day (not home yet) and is working tomorrow too. It's rubbish but the money is needed.

I'm going to ask him if I can transfer my cc onto his for the 0% they keep offering him. It's too big for me to get my own Blush ill give him the money each month obviously but I'm getting charged interest so high I'm too embarrassed to tell you all how much!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2015 19:15

I am getting over it first world problem. still fecking gutted. you have ONE nice thing and it gets pulverised.

Good idea re the cc. The rates of interest ought to be capped.

Peppa Welcome.

£33 pizza and large glass of wine.

So sorry to hear that fluffy, I had my iPad screen repaired for about £60. I can totally recommend the shop if you want. They do it also for people outside of my city with some Royal Mail delivery thing.

Spendy day. £7 for mcdonalds. £1 pound land for a sponge. £10 for heel repair (thought you guys would appreciate that..! Saved on buying new shoes). Cobbler fixed it really well.

£26 at marks on clothes for dd for a wedding next year, socks for school and pyjamas for ds.
£3 at the works.

LaChatte · 24/05/2015 20:37

I assume it means no medical treatment Fluffy , only alternative, natural things, she's quite vocal on Facebook about being against vaccinating children for example.

makeawish2 · 24/05/2015 20:44

Just catching up with the thread...so very sad to read of the difficulties and illness of you and your loved ones are facing..and Italian I cannot imagine how anyone can cope with the loss of a child....you sound like a wonderful supportive friend Flowers and as was said earlier please take care of yourself too.

Its been a very long month and just made it to payday but was cross with myself that I had to spend the £60 I had saved from last month... Probably more annoying as first time for ages I had saved anything.

Just noticed on money saving expert lots of 2-4-1 and various vouchers/magazine deals for London days out for those who are there... One of the tips I saw on here was buying multipacks of ice lollies from supermarket for days out...which would save loads...just wondered if anyone has kept them in cooler bags for a decent amount of time?

Ages ago I mentioned how my cat only eats whiskas ..and lots of...he now prefers biscuits!!! Though I'm still giving him whiskas too for balance...its been a big saving!
