Welcome kate. We'll look after you. I used to love handbags but now I just have 1 going out one as I use the baby change bag the rest of the time Sad

Have a great time spotty. I think I need some time away....

I've re done the budget so I don't keep carrying a negative over. It means the budget for each month is smaller but psychologically it feels better. I'm really hoping all the unplanned big spends are behind us now. Anyway, March officially started for me yesterday and I spent £86 on groceries. Trying to decide what to do tomorrow. I want something cheap, new and that we'll all enjoy without going to far. Think I'm asking to much but I can't face the park again.

LadyRainicorn · 14/03/2015 23:22

I had to through away a whole chicken. I am so annoyed. Such a set back - not a massive amount of money but just what it represents.

Passthecake30 · 14/03/2015 23:33

Spendy day, £72 Asda delivery (incl £12 beer), £4 primark, £24 sports direct (ds rucksack, dd sandals), £32 meal out. I did make doorstep sarnies to take with us shopping, £2 for ham and fresh loaf- saved £14 mcDs or something. ..

Breadandwine · 15/03/2015 00:03

Meant to say the cost of those hot cross buns - a dozen or so - comes in under £1.

And the sun-dried tomatoes and roasted red peppers I used on my pizza both come from Lidl. Good quality stuff and a very good price.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/03/2015 07:53

I'm alive and I still have money in my purse! £5 in my account which will go down once I get the tube today and £39 in my purse. So £44 left from £100 and that includes lunch yesterday and night out last night.might end up buying coffee and something to eat on the train.

Unescorted · 15/03/2015 08:17

Spotty I am impressed. When I have to go to London my purse springs a leak.

Adora he did really well. 4th in his first ever road race so he is over the moon. He got a treat yesterday - Rapha (v. posh cycling clothes company) gave him some clothes, but they didn't fit quite right as he had to have ladies xxs and they have curves that 10 yo boys don't. So they asked him to come into Manchester where one of their designers was going to be - she has marked them all up and they have been sent back to the tailors to get the fit right. The only other person to get this service is Bradley Wiggins. While I am on a smug mum moment he was on TV last week The Adventure Show

lilacclery · 15/03/2015 08:26

Marking my place & will fill in my spends later.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/03/2015 08:31

£30 yesterday on champagne and wine to take to a meal with family. Really glad I did as they made a real fuss of Dh's birthday.

Welcome Kate

Unescorted · 15/03/2015 09:55

kate in my fantasy world where I can buy everythnig I want when I want handbags appear very near the top of my list - along with matching / coordinating shoes.

fluffy Champagne also figures highly. Glad you had a good day for your Dh birthday.

I am trying to convince myself to go out and do the monthly grocery shop. I know it is best to get it out of the way but it is nice and warm in the house and I fancy a long bath with a book and another cup of coffee.

girliefriend · 15/03/2015 10:29

Happy Mothers day to all the fabulous mummy frugaliers Flowers

£1.40 parking at the hospital last night (oohs is based there) dd has a uti Sad having said that she seems o.kay this morning, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon.

Lady turned up this morning to pick up a bag of dds clothes I had sold via fb, so £13 up, another lady turning meant to be turning up soon which will be another £5 - will put this money straight into the school dinner pot.

No other spends planned today, going to make scones later to take to my mums for a mothers day cream tea Smile hope she likes the pot of flowers me and dd made up for her.

PegLegAntoine · 15/03/2015 10:58

Same to you girlie :)

My friend is spending her first Mother's Day with her newborn - she spent 20yrs thinking it'd never happen but he arrived last night. I'm so happy I keep crying :)

As for me, it'll be a quiet day in I think and I've been building my lego birds set :o

babsmam · 15/03/2015 11:05

Ah peg that's what mother's day is all about :)

not sure about spends today kids want to spend their WBD vouchers.

DD has grown out of all of her dance shoes so that may mean new school shoes.will get feet checked in town after swimming lessons.

bootygirl · 15/03/2015 11:05

Welcome Kate.

I would say concentrate on the cigerettes first. check the nhs websites loads of help out there. It will help not only with purse but your health.

I love designer handbages and have a few. Mostly given to me from dh. But it all comes out of the one pot!!
What ones do you like? If it's something like a mulberry would you save over a year and use it as an incentive. Ie if I reach x goal by x date I will buy y?
It's only a problem if it's stopping you reaching your bigger longer term goals.

KateSpade · 15/03/2015 11:51

Thank you everyone!

The two currently on my dream list are a Chanel 2.5 - the 'normal' one you see on everyone & a balenciaga tote bag, but both of those would be 3.5k! Shock that's nearly half a house deposit!

I have said to myself booty that when I get down to my goal weight & stop binge eating I will buy either one!

I am going to start having a councelling session soon, hopefully - which will be £40 per week/fortnight but to be really honest I need it, and that will help with my binge eating & self esteem!

Yesterday I spent nearly £35.00 on sweets/chocolate which I ate everything yesterday! Blush I know!

lilacclery · 15/03/2015 13:21

Oh wow Kate that was a serious binge! How do you feel today?.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/03/2015 14:17

£3.50 on a wrap and Pepsi Max.

KateSpade · 15/03/2015 14:34

I know, I feel okay physically. Mentally I'm thinking wtf have I done?

It's got to stop!

But no spends so far today, which is good! And I've ordered a NHS stop smoking kit online & am going to try and get some some medication to help on Friday!

babsmam · 15/03/2015 15:40

40 on shoes for dd. She has gone up a whole size so that will be trainers, slippers, all dance shoes, wellies and none school shoes needed.
30 in waterstone on books and cafe
N

Passthecake30 · 15/03/2015 15:57

£4.40 kids swimming. That's allSmile

Still lots of my list that I need to sort/buy in advance of my return to work. ..

girliefriend · 15/03/2015 17:00

lsd £3.50 in Tesco, picked up another half price big Easter egg for my mum, 4 pints of milk and some chocs for my mum as a last min mothers day present thought! She loved the pot of flowers, it has pride of place out side her house now!!

NK5BM3 · 15/03/2015 17:14

Spent £10 yesterday on new ballet shoes for dd. Her first pair of brand new ballet shoes, so I guess that's ok. She's had 2 others hand me downs as I wasn't sure she would stay doing ballet. She's 4.

Today was spendy. Dh paid for lunch out at my favourite Japanese restaurant so that was nice. I did a quick shop at the Asian shop for noodles and it cost £18.

Play dough at tiger, as kids had run out. £3

Make up at boots - £23 as I needed new face powder (so got 2) and got a free lippy which I needed as my old one has just finished or will do in the next couple of weeks.

Oh £15 at a noa noa sale where I got a new necklace (down from £29 to £5!!), a dress for a newborn niece £5 and a top for dd £5.

NK5BM3 · 15/03/2015 17:14

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!! Smile

LaChatte · 15/03/2015 17:17

NSD here (everything's shut on Sundays here, so it makes it easier).

Just had a look at all our bank accounts, started with the saving accounts to cheer me up:

€6962 (although €2700 of that is the kids' money so not actually ours).

€435 in the current account, but all of that has already been spent on bills and stuff for the rest of the month.

Aaand last of all the money we owe the bank €151543 Biscuit Although if we were to sell the house today, we'd get more than that, so I have to focus on it from that perspective.
