It's a start Binglet! It's probably something we spend too much on too. We can't go out at the weekend without getting a costa or stopping for lunch. I just love food.

treaclesoda · 05/03/2015 09:21

I'm aiming for a NSD but I'm taking DD to a hospital appointment that she hates going to and I know she might manage to convince me to buy her some chocolate as a treat afterwards. Might raid the cupboards and see if I can bring something from home.

Binglet · 05/03/2015 09:32

I love food too. I just can't help it. Blush

TeWiSavesTheDay · 05/03/2015 10:02

We were the same, I have found it easier to give up than I imagined. we try and time things so we avoid being out at mealtimes as much as possible, sticking something in the slow cooker or having a really quick meal planned if I know it will be tight, I reckon it's psychologically nicer than eating a pack up in the car (and the kids whinge less!)

£40 hall hire. Should be it for the day.

missmakesstuff · 05/03/2015 10:59

We'll I'm not doing so well, £18 today on photos for mothers Day. But I am hoping that will be it for spends today.
Just had my car collected for repair, so the full tank of petrol I was hoping would last all month probably won't as I've found out it's going 20 miles away for repair! Annoyed as it wasn't my fault but I've still got to pay excess as they drove off After hitting me. I've asked for a quote fir some other damage, would like to get it done but in reality it'll be too expensive..gutted about the 250 excess but I had a little cry about it when it happened, time to move on...my car is in such a state anyway, he drew all over it with pink pen to highlight scratches etc, it looked like dd had been let loose on it when he'd finished!
due to the courtesy car being all lovely and shiny and I'm too scared to drive it incase it gets scratched, I'm going to walk to pick dd up today...will take nearly 2 hrs but it's exercise and then I can get my confidence before driving this one! So, saving petrol today (about £1 worth probably...Hmm)

LadyRainicorn · 05/03/2015 11:23

This will sound boring but... I had to buy bread (7 fucking grilled cheese sandwiches this household ate yesterday!!)

So I walked to one shop and thought fuck it, I think the bread might be cheaper in the other shop 5 min walk away. So I went. But it was not. And neither was the jam. Which I also needed. I almost gave in but the thought of this thread gave me the strength to trudge back to the first sodding shop. And it was cold.

Thanks everyone for making me buy the cheaper stuff. It'll add up by the end of the month.

treaclesoda · 05/03/2015 12:49

Found a bar of chocolate in the back of the cupboard to give to DD for her treat. So far so good.

Then on the way back to school she said 'mum, there is a book fair on today for world book day...' So I'm £3 down. She had some money of her own as well, so I told her that if at all possible, she should spend her own money and bring mine back, but I'm not hopeful Grin

nochocolateforlentteacake · 05/03/2015 13:13

Groupon are selling 5 Odeon tickets for £25 just now...

lilacclery · 05/03/2015 13:47

I had to buy tinned tomato and natural yogurt last night aS I didn't put them on shopping list and dh did shopping we get tinned tomatoes every frigging week!!! So anyway a bar of chocolate jumped on, a galia melon & some multigrain muffins €8.91. I know I said on last thread top up shops are avoidable but I'd already made sausage stew with two half jars of relish and I don't like savoury mince really.

bootygirl · 05/03/2015 14:26

AdoraBell · 05/03/2015 15:18

£80 for fumigation.
90p for a chocolate bar

Need a top up shop later.

Breadandwine · 05/03/2015 15:23

Breadandwine what temp in fan oven for that bread?

Bootygirl 200c for a fan oven - 220C/gas mark 7 otherwise.

But, why not make two if you've got the oven on, may as well!

2nd loaf - instead of salt, include a dsp of sugar, teaspoon mixed spice and 100g dried fruit. Otherwise it's just the same.

If you forget to turn the oven on, just put them in a cold oven. (And then turn the oven on! Grin)

treaclesoda · 05/03/2015 15:41

Just spent £80 as remembered I forgot to pay for groceries earlier in the week (always pay for them on Tesco credit card to get extra club card points, then immediately make same payment to credit card. But this time forgot to do the payment).

bootygirl · 05/03/2015 15:53

Thanks breadandwine I was going to try it next oven is on! My mam brought me up not put oven on for one thing lol
Although might make queen buns?! Your a bad influence!

Passthecake30 · 05/03/2015 16:18

£12 travel, £10 cinema, £3.50 ben n Jerry's, £18 top in new look, £20 lunch. Spendy but v v rare I go out.

Adora - fumigation? ?

lilacclery · 05/03/2015 16:33

Adora lives out of UK

Booty Brita filters often come up on offer in argos I got 12 months pack for not much than cost of six

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/03/2015 16:42

Treacle I should get a tesco card, cc points always come in handy.

A halogen oven would cook bread as fast as a big oven and costs less to run. It bought my electric bill right down and because the main ovens hardly used it never gets dirty.

I put the bowl for it in the dw.

ladyrain plus you got lots of exercise too, bonus!

NSD and Quidco has £80 for me from swapping the joint account over. I'll give half to Dh.

girliefriend · 05/03/2015 16:58

I think a NSD Smile first one in a while.

I didn't know you could make bread with self raising flour, I thought it had to be bread flour and it needed yeast in it?

Learn something new every day Grin

girliefriend · 05/03/2015 17:01

Spotty* I don't know what to do for dinner either!!

Maybe pasta with pesto and a tin of tuna. I have some bacon to use up some might have mine with that!!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/03/2015 17:08

I've done bacon, red onion, courgette, tomatoes and feta with pasta. Not sure how it'll taste Grin

girliefriend · 05/03/2015 17:14

Haha love that when feeling uninspired pasta is always reliable!! Will do some salad with ours to make it feel a bit healthier.

Now all I have to do is move my bum off the sofa and make it - hmm problematic Wink

treaclesoda · 05/03/2015 17:15

I had some chili in the freezer. So I've bunged some oven chips on,and when they're almost done I'll put the chili over the top with some sweetcorn and cheese and let the cheese melt over it. If I'd thought it through better when I did my meal plan I'd have bought a carton of guacamole too, but I didn't, and I'm trying not to do top up shops so it will have to do as is.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/03/2015 17:31

I've just put some sausages in the freezer use by yesterday they'll be ok won't they?
