Due to cost of living and cost of child care costs we are going to be left with £275 per month to feed 2 adults and 1 child, clothe us, keep us and house clean, entertainment etc basically everything after bills are paid. Anyone else in this situation? Any tips if so? I know people are much worse off but feel really down and worried about this effecting DD's childhood and quality of life Sad

Have a mooch on the different boards of Money Saving Expert, there are loads of little ways to make your stretch a bit.

All the boards

The Old Style board on there is very good, especially the Grocery Challenge Old Style Moneysaving

If that's after all bills it's not a huge budget but not that bad either. Look for deals and meal plan n buy reduced meat, bread etc n freeze. Cook in bulk n freeze so have quick meals ready.

Thank you I will have a look at moneysavingexpert. Yes it is after all bills.

How old is DD? I think it's a doable figure with a bit of care and resourcefulness, but harder if she is a teen.

She is only 15 months, it's the child care costs that are crippling, will be easier once she's older and at school but like you said we'll need the extra money as she gets older!

We are the same 800 pounds a month in childcare.
I'm afraid it's not easy and we are rubbish at cutting down food bill. I'm better at not buying clothes and not going out. But then I get bored.
Perhaps get a slow cook or make up batches.
