Crikey how many stamps does £6 get you then?

ItalianWiking84 · 24/10/2014 19:37

So offer got accepted Grin so excited Smile

AuditAngel · 24/10/2014 19:52

£5.19 on lunch, £13 in Waitrose buying the children a cake each plus some bolognaise sauce, some bread rolls etc.

Tomorrow will be expensive. Taking MIL and DM to see DS in the matinee of Evita. DH's cousin was going to come, but her husband is ill. She said she will pay for the ticket, but I can't ask her for it. My sister is going to use the ticket, but she can't afford to pay for it. I'm expecting a £120 bill. Oh well.

I'm hoping I can find on street parking using DM's blue badge, rather than paying.

girliefriend · 24/10/2014 19:59

fuzz that was for a book of 12! Considering they are second class I still think it is extortionate!!

I am camping out in my bedroom as dd has two friends over for a sleepover and they have taken over the flat!! Wish me luck in getting them to sleep before midnight Grin

girliefriend · 24/10/2014 20:00

And congrats Italian that is awesome news Smile

girliefriend · 24/10/2014 20:04

Am thinking ahead to dds 9th bday and wondering rather than lots of presents and a party about taking her for a wend trip to London. Last time she went she was only just 4yo and too little to really enjoy it.

Any tips of good cheap/free things to do with kids in London anyone? If budget allows I might try and get some theatre tickets as well.....

Her bday is in Feb.

fuzzpig · 24/10/2014 20:04

Yay Italian! Congratulations :o

Girlie that is indeed extortionate - I'm sure I remember first class stamps being 26p or something, and I'm really not old.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/10/2014 20:08

Well done italian. I hope it goes smoothly.

ItalianWiking84 · 24/10/2014 20:16

Thanks sweet ladies Smile

How do the NSDs work?
Is it only me that counts? What if DH spends money a work? I wouldn't know that? And what if we go to a toddler activity that has been paid in advance for the term? Is it still a NSD? If so, I've had one today.

furcoatbigknickers · 24/10/2014 21:12

Oh fgs dh just had letter from tax office saying we owe £2k

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/10/2014 21:32

Can you appeal that?. Or pay in installments?.

£3.48 on two cushion pads.

AdoraBell · 24/10/2014 22:54

NSDs Thurs and Frí.

Good weekend all. I'll catch up properly on Monday.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/10/2014 09:44

£5 off £40 spend voucher for Lidl in the Saturday mail today.

Sixforgold · 25/10/2014 09:46

The reason I only take dh grocery shopping twice a year - over 100 in tescos. I felt like a right fraud getting out my money off coupons when we had 10s worth of finest bacon and sausages! Our cupboards are still understocked but we shall eat like kings for the weekend!

Passthecake30 · 25/10/2014 09:55

Dh never comes shopping with me. He used to complain about the time I spent in there. ....but spend the equivalent amount of time gazing at the selection in the biscuit isle in awe......

£50 asda delivery, includes £10 baileysSmile, swimming lesson later and maybe takeaway depending on whether I am allowed in the kitchen or not as floor is going down.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 25/10/2014 09:56

Grocery delivery, £45 spent. Boys' haircuts done (with trimmer), so no money spent there. That's it, really.

Sixforgold Why would you feel a fraud for using money off coupons? It's those kinds of things that give you the extra leeway so you can splurge on the bacon and sausages, don't you think? For me, I look at it as "well, I've saved on this item, so I can splurge on something else and get nice xxxx." I do it all the time (and I know others do too), so nothing to feel silly about!

furcoat I would think if you ring them that they will allow you to pay in installments. What a huge hit otherwise, especially before Christmas!

MrsH I don't count direct debits or prepaid things in NSDs.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 25/10/2014 09:56

Yes, my grocery bill usually doubled when stbxh was along with me - he was constantly nabbing things and tossing them in the trolley. Hmm

babsmam · 25/10/2014 14:37

LSD here dd has chicken pox so not going far. Just a treat for Ds to occupy him as he is bored. 10£

girliefriend · 25/10/2014 16:22

£18 on Amazon, got 2 dvds, 1 cd, 1 torch and some other stocking fillers for that though! Must stop buying for dd now she has enough for Christmas already!

£4.50ish on drinks and cakes at the local garden centre we went to this afternoon.

Planning lots of play dates and park visits to keep dd occupied over half term so hopefully won't spend too much...

NK5BM3 · 25/10/2014 18:28

Hello! Sorry, been MIA. Just back from work travels. Spent money but have put in claims. Did buy some stuff for the kids, and a big purchase for me (cosmetics which I buy once a year when I'm in that part of the world...).

Did shop at sainsburys today as needed boots for dd. £77 for big shop, 2 boots (wellies and normal for dd) and some jeggings for me.

Will have to pay after school bill soon, and swimming. But I think this months cc bills will be pretty small. Fingers crossed.

Applejack2 · 25/10/2014 18:53

Girliefriend,
We took DS to London for the weekend of his 10th birthday back in March. We stayed in a Premier Inn near Watford so, of course, had to do Harry Potter studios...awesome. We did free stuff the rest of the time...Science Museum and National History Museum. It is cold that time of year so we wanted indoors.
I want to take my 2 to see 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. I bet it's fab!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/10/2014 18:54

Had a great day. Spent about £28 on food. Dp spent more. Cost about £50 in bloody petrol Angry

Applejack2 · 25/10/2014 19:07

Spotty,

Did you enjoy Disnew on Ice? We saw it 2 weeks ago and it was great :)

Sixforgold · 25/10/2014 19:38

Perhaps fraud was the wrong word - more that my efforts were futile when the total was so grand! Oh well, our guests are buying a take-away tonight and have brought wine so it's all swings and roundabouts!
