Thought I'd do the honours Smile

With kids back at school and autumn weather drawing in we all need a very sensible September. I'm putting up my thermal curtains and refusing to put on the heating until October. Who's in?

lilac that's good. I've not heard anyone say anything bad about them, so fingers crossed it lasts a good long time! I hate paying out money for things like that.

Ds1 and Ds2 both have eczema, so I wondered if the gloop would be an issue. Hate to put together a big batch and find out they can't use it. I have a small list of what products I can use that doesn't aggravate their skin.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/09/2014 16:01

Gloops a bit like white jelly. It's more like cooking than science.

It's one of my dirty little secrets dh doesn't know about. That and the smart price tea bags from sainsburys he must never find out about.

Have any of you tried Double base gel for eczema? a woman with dgc recommended it to me years ago and now half my family uses it. Annoyingly the half that gets free scripts must not be jealous.

Quidco is offering £80 to switch bank accounts to Nationwide, my quidco stuff never tracks but it's worth a try. I can always do untracked transaction again. Theres 3 accounts, one has a monthly fee so you might want to avoid that one.

I wonder if MissA is out of surgery yet?.

furcoatbigknickers · 22/09/2014 17:48

£14.97 top essentials wine

I have set up prescription pre payment so £0 on my script. Im sure i'll use it more that 13 times a year easily so will make a saving!!

Helenagrace · 22/09/2014 18:41

Planning to do a cheap week eating from the freezer next week. New job is going well and I've had some NSD. Wiped it out with a weekend visit to the outlaws - I don't even like them!!

listsandbudgets · 22/09/2014 18:49

nsd :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/09/2014 18:55

NSD.

girliefriend · 22/09/2014 18:57

£3.10 on icing sugar, carrots and butter!

Dd had a friend for tea so needed icing sugar and butter to finish a cake I started ystd and carrots to go with the mini roast dinner.

By the by but is there a way of making icing without icing sugar?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/09/2014 19:24

Nsd!

SpottyTeacakes · 22/09/2014 19:26

Fluffy I don't find it great tbh. No different from any other barrier cream. I need steroid creams for mine though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/09/2014 19:32

Oh no! It really helped my nephew because his skin used to split open in the hot weather.

AdoraBell · 22/09/2014 20:40

NSD, found I have enough packed lunch food for tomorrow so decided to stay home. Also need to work through the freezer again.

Glad your new job is going well Helena

listsandbudgets · 22/09/2014 21:28

Well it was nearly a NSD but just got a kindle book for £1.79

lilacclery · 22/09/2014 21:35

listsandbudgets have you joined up for the daily deals newsletter from Amazon kindle? They give you a free book for doing it! I also downloaded several more free ones the other day too.

lilacclery · 22/09/2014 21:36

girliefriend I think you can make icing sugar with a blender

lilacclery · 22/09/2014 21:39

Yep just blend

girliefriend · 22/09/2014 22:11

Thanks Lila, useful to know as am having a phase of baking lots at the mo! Will try that...

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 22/09/2014 23:12

Hello all Smile I had my op and am now feeling rather stiff and sore. Annoyingly the drs/surgeons didn't see fit to come and actually tell me what they did/found inside (they were working off a CT which showed abnormalities and had presented me with a sort of sliding scale of possibliies.

Even more annoyingly, because drs haven't been I am stlll being starved "as a precaution" and they won't be here until 930 tomorrow now. Angry
Theres 1 nurse on our ward (2 massive bays + 3 private rooms) and there should be two, so it's along wait for pain meds etc.

I am ringing AXA at 8am to see if I can be transferrred to a private hospital for post-op care, I am sick of this. No pun intended.

Well, it has been a bit busy here,

Friday was my wedding anniversary. Grabbed a burger for lunch after my course £4.39, then bus fares to /from dinner £1.45 each way.

Saturday £27 hair cut, £14 in Tesvo to buy a new dustpan and brush and a clothes rail. £30 in TKMaxx, a couple of Christmas stocking presents, some new water bottles and some sauces for DH's birthday. £5 in church collections etc. £37 in Waitrose on some meats and stuff.

Sunday £5 on a DVD for the kids.

Today NSD.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/09/2014 05:45

Ouch fluffy! I use aveeno on dd's eczema and my face Smile

MissA that's terrible I hope you can get the private after care

Hoping for a nsd today although that means no lunch (nothing new there Hmm)

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 23/09/2014 07:17

Yesterday, spent a tenner on just inconsequential stuff. Probably shouldn't have, so will watch that more in future.

Today, it would be a NSD, but it's a close friend's birthday, and I will be purchasing a card and gift for her. So my NSDs will have to be tomorrow and Thursday.

Taytocrisps · 23/09/2014 07:32

No NSD today I'm afraid. Have to pay the balance off DDs dance classes (€35) and €10 for cubs trip. Also €3 for cubs itself. I'd be a lot richer if I didn't have DD!

MissA glad you got over the op ok. Hope you get some food (and answers) soon.

Spotty, tell us all about the wedding - date, wedding dress, colour of bridesmaids dresses, honeymoon etc.

FantaSea · 23/09/2014 08:55

MissA I am pleased your operation is done and hope you feel a bit better now. How annoying that you can't have anything to eat. Hope you get some help with AXA and they can transfer you Cake

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/09/2014 11:00

I'm glad they at least operated on you MissA, I hope you get transferred.

£7.50 for Dh's vaping fluid.

£6 sains incl triple velvet loo roll on a "love me or I'm FREE" offer. I think we all know whats going to happen to that, squash and a marked down salad.

£5 lidl on milk, butter, sandwich filler and gravy.

Still no word from morrisons ceo on the microwave that set on fire (well, melted around the door). I'm not impressed with them at all.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 23/09/2014 11:03

fluffy I missed that one - a microwave that MELTED??? Shock that is so dangerous! They should give you danger money.

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 23/09/2014 11:37

Yes, the door melted. They took the recipt off dh when he took it back which I put in my email that it makes it look like they are trying to stop me going to trading standards. I have no proof of purchase but he took photos of the door.

Sainsburys code for new online customers CATNNVBA, £20 off a £60 spend. They do 99p delivery slots & you might be able to get cashback too. I think dh might be about to use sainsburys for the first time. Delivery by the 14th October.

My nationwide cashback hasn't tracked. Grrr.

Lidl was only £3.50 not £5.
